    Second City Improv

by Weezequeen on 3/25/14Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

This troupe was very talented and most of the performance was well done (the final improv was a little labored). They did a GREAT job of handling the jerk in the audience who was (probably drunk) intent on drawing attention to himself. He was annoying not only the actors but also the rest of the audience.

Great show, funny the whole way through!

    by p4spud on 3/25/14Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

Didn't know much about this show before going, but wanted to see a comedy show while away for the weekend in the area. This show was hilarious and very well coordinated! My wife and I had a blast and very glad we went, we will definitely keep out eyes open for this traveling show to go see again.

    Second city was mediocre

    by Ckr0911 on 3/25/14Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

There were some really funny skits but most were not.

First half was very weak and boring--2nd half good

by SaxMan4 on 5/1/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

We were very disappointed with first half--nothing like shows we've seen from them in Chicago or Toronto. Many dull thuds! After the intermission, things picked up considerably and many of the skits were very clever and entertaining. If it weren't for the first half. the show would have been given 4 or 5 stars. The live auctions and discussions from Burnsville Rotary etc. detracted from the show. We didn't purchase tickets to take that stuff in. The venue (the auditorium and parking), however, were very impressive. What a great facility!

    Lacking Comedy

by SandiLynn on 4/29/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

This group of performers was very disappointing. I almost got up and left but stuck around hoping the next sketch might be funny. The direction they took simply wasn't humorous (I chuckled once throughout two acts). The planned skits took what would be an awkward moment in life and spun it to an uncomfortable situation you never want to see or deal with in your life-nothing funny about it and I am the easiest person in the world to get a laugh out of or at least the giggles. I'm sure there's other performers with this company that are better but I have to submit my review based on this group. If this wasn't a charity event, I'd be asking for my $35/$40 back.

    Second City - Not Laughing

by Anonymous on 4/29/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

Very dissapointing, with very little good laughable humor. Actors were good, but the writers missed adding humor to the show!

    Could have been better

by MNsnowplow on 4/28/13The Sanford Center - Bemidji

The show was kinda dry, jokes were mediocre at best, the improv was very lame. Also the music was turned up louder than the actors microphones so it was very difficult to hear anything.

    Great show!

by Lwinkie on 2/11/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

My huband and I have been attending this show for the last several years and really enjoy it. The cast this year was especially funny, and we found this year's show to be better / funnier than last year's. It's definitely worth the money spent.

    2nd City Fun

    by J6226 on 2/11/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

2nd City was a fun event! Lots of laughs, but some inconsistent performances and writing. The ladies were wonderful, and two of the men. Kellen needed to cut and wash his hair. The first act was great, but the 2nd act was off the mark, especially the long first sketch. The Lincoln Theatre was a nice surprise and beautifully restored. There was a very drunk and irritating couple directly behind us in the 3rd row main floor who disrupted the 2nd act with loud inappropriate language and heckling. The ushers did nothing to quiet them, which was very regrettable.

Not as good the second time around

    by el323904 on 2/11/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

I originally saw The Second City at their home theater in Chicago and had an absolute blast. The skits were hilarious and the performers were great. When I saw they were touring through Columbus I was so excited because I wanted to share the hilarity with my boyfriend, who was not familiar with them. I was kind of disappointed, as this group of performers was not as strong as the one I saw in Chicago. There were a couple of stand outs, but the ones who kept forgetting their lines or missing their timing really kind of put me off for the entire night. Another bummer was that they performed maybe 3 or 4 skits I had already seen at the first show. I'm glad I went because I would have felt like I had missed out on something if I had skipped out. I don't think I'll be paying the $35/$40 to see them again unless I'm in Chicago or Toronto.

    Good comedy

by Uwantsome on 2/11/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

This was a very entertaining show. The five actors and musician were top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed the various improv skits throughout the show. Also a great venue (Lincoln Theater) to watch this type of show. We will definitely see this act again when they return to Columbus. If you want to be asked to participate on stage, sit in the front row.

    SCTV was predictable

by EnjoyingJazz on 2/11/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

The show was well done and the performers seemed to enjoy entertaining the audience. However, the material seemed somewhat dated like that which one as already seen on television for years. The intermission was interminably long.

    best show ever

by cdiane on 2/10/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

Don't sit in the front row if you don't want to be called on stage. Otherwise, best show ever. Will go back every time they are in town.

We had seen Second City before on a cruise and this local show did not disappoint us. Overall the improv skits showed a good variety of humor and topics. The lead comic was exceptional regarding his ability to play various roles and the energy he brought to his acting. We did hear a few comments regarding what was perceived as an excessive use of vulgarity, which appeared to irritate some folks.

Some very creative and new jokes and skits. Some dated and regional but understandable due to the number of shows in Chicago vs elsewhere.

Second City is better than this.

by Anonymous on 1/21/13Mystic Lake Casino Hotel - Prior Lake

I've been to Second City in Chicago twice and had a great time. This show was far worse than the two I saw in Chicago. Maybe a lot of the blame was with the venue--too big, not intimate--but I think it was also the content, which was hit or miss. A few sketches were hilarious. Others dragged on and weren't funny at all. Overall, I was very disappointed.
