  • Totally great show!

by DebinDC on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I caught the Scissor Sisters at DAR Constitution Hall last night and what a show! Neither of us had ever seen SS live and it was truly remarkable. The turnout at the venue was light but that left lots of room for people to dance and DANCE WE DID. I don't think I've ever seen as energetic a show as this one. I swear I lost weight watching Jake prance around the stage. He even climbed up on the balcony, emulating a tightrope walker over to the loge seat area. Of course, all the boys sitting there went wild while this was occuring. I am sure DAR security was not digging it as much as the fans were. They played for about an hour and a half with one encore. It was a great show and both my friend and I plan to get their newest CD soon.

my first time seeing Scissor Sisters. great show!. seeing the group last night with jake, ana babydaddy and del reminds me of the time i saw Billy Idol and Steve Stevens play in Maine in 1988 when at their peak. Only difference is that the Sisters are going to get bigger.

  • High-energy Scissor Sisters

by kgindc on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

You can't take anything away from the energy level of Scissor Sisters, but some of their material needs an upgrade. It's a wonderful stage show, but the sound at DAR Constitution Hall was muddy at best.

  • Shaky Opening Act, but Amazing Show

by Novemberman on 8/24/10Buckhead Theater - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I saw the Scissor Sisters perform at the Buckhead Theater on August 21st, and I really was very impressed. Their opening act, Casey Spooner, had some trouble, but he was charming . The Scissor Sisters' performance was incredible, though. I had seen them 5 years ago and liked them, but it was apparent that they had refined their skills since that concert 5 years ago. If you want to see a band perform and interact with the audience in a way that is very kinetic, exciting, and inclusive, go to this concert. I left feeling like they loved their audience and worked very diligently for the ticket price.

  • Amazing show!

by Caldera on 8/23/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

It was an unforgettable experience. Scissor Sisters is my most favorite band ever. Next time can y'all come a little closer to Texas? I had to go 700 miles to see you! But so worth it.

  • Electro rock at it's finest.

    by Garccone13 on 8/23/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Overall a great experience. They know how to entertain and put on a show. Never a dull moment. Witty, campy, and always jumping around, giving 110%. The laser beams light show adds to the dramatic effect.

  • UNBELIEVABLE

This was by far the best show I have ever been too. I LOVE the Scissor Sisters. I just wish some of the gay boys weren't being such divas and so mean to the girls! Other than that they were AMAZING

  • Scissor Sisters was great!!

by TABDAB on 8/23/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. The energy was great amoung the band and the audience. We were able to get a place right up front and stayed there until the end. This defiantly goes down in my history books as one the best concerts I have been to.

  • Scissor Sisters ROCKED Atlanta!

by itarecormon on 8/22/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

It's a shame that this band doesn't have the popularity or fame that they do in the U.K. There, they regularly sell out arena-sized venues. Here in the U.S., they play much smaller venues, like the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta. One of the advantages, though, is that tickets for their shows are readily available even up to a week prior (or less) to the show date. The show began with DJ Sammy Jo, whose set was a little long, for my taste. But he played an acceptable mix of techno. Pretty standard fare all-around. I wish I had good things to report about their opening act, Casey Spooner (of Fischerspooner fame), but his 45 minute long set was painful and embarrassing Clearly unprepared for the event, He spent the entire 45 minutes singing along to prerecorded tracks. While his outfit looked nice on him, and there was just a smidgen of theatricality to his act, it played out like karaoke at your neighborhood bar. And the music? Godawful. Come back to us when you have something better prepared, Casey. The Scissor Sister themselves were outstanding! Even though the sound was a tad muffled, nothing could take away from the sheer energy the band projected that night. Jake Shears was in fine form (physically and vocally) and, as usual, his and Ana's interaction was a highlight of the performance.

  • Any way you cut it Scissor Sisters Rock !!!

by VinnieLoca on 8/22/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Two words can sum up the entire show, PURE ENERGY! Jake Shears voice is so powerful and is such a throwback to the seventies that it's such a delicious treat to hear him sing and to watch him jump around on stage makes you wanna go out and buy one of his spandex outfits and go to the gym. Let's not leave out Ana Matronic who has a great stage presence & repoire with the audience. I think her style rivals GaGa but more mature/sane. Like a vampire who's tasted some blood, I want more!

  • Scissor Sisters really worked for the crowd!

by chattanooguy on 8/22/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

This was the best concert I've seen in a while....these guys really worked hard for their fans and put on a great show. They sounded great, and the energy of the group and the crowd was amazing. It was my first time at their show, and I would definitely go back!

  • by Anonymous on 8/22/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Once again, the Scissor Sisters delivered a fantastic show that seemed more like a giant party than a concert.

  • Amazing tour kick off

by ticticbang on 8/22/10Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

It was an awesome kick off for the North American tour. The audience complimented the bands energy. This is my 3rd time seeing the band and they did not disappoint. As for the venue, it was a small one which is great. This will probably not effect you at the venue you see them, but I have to state it. Their was way too much sound filling the small venue. The sound tech did a very poor job. I was almost impossible to hear the dialogue and many complaints regarding hearing after the show. I had ear plugs and am still having problems today. At some level it spoiled the experience as the band was performing a top-notch show. It was a tight performance, but the quality of the audio delivery was less than desirable. Love them, loved their performance, not loving the sound tech. It's a must see show.
