  • Scissor Sisters put on an awesome show!!!

by BGEKB on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Scissor Sisters show and it will definitely not be my last!! They rocked it. Even though the event wasn't sold out, you wouldn't have known it by the energy level in DAR. They did an amazing job keeping the crowd on it's feet the entire time! Can't wait till the next time I see them!

  • they were great

by Anonymous on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

While the Scissor sisters where beyond phenomenal. The venue and opening show were not. They did not allow people to dance in the isles or jump around a lot, it was like prison guards were there. It was hard to see spooner part of the incredible ban ficherspooner sing, I know it was his first time but it was hard to listen too. If it wasn't for the incredible performance by the sisters I would have been very dissatisfied.

  • Sisters fab, DAR rubbish

by blueflybutterfly on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Scissor sisters, as always put on a high energy and entertaining show, just a shame that the sound system at DAR Constitution Hall was so terrible. The rubbish sound absolutely ruined the event.

  • The Sisters best visit to DC

    by EatWithMe75 on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my fourth time seeing the Scissor Sisters in concert. Each time was in DC and this was by far their best show. Incredible. Perhaps not the best venue, but still awesome.

  • SCISSOR SISTERS at DAR Constitution Hall

They are amazing and the show was fan-FREAKING-tastic! It was a very diverse crowd and a blast!

  • Great Concert

    by mel9805 on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The scissor sisters were amazing in concert. There was a lot of energy from the lead singer and from the crowd. Everyone was dancing and singing at the top of their lungs with all the songs that the band sang.

AWESOME ENERGY, GREAT SHOW. Jake and Ana were great, the sound was awesome.

the sound was really bad, i think that is the venues fault and not the bands'. very high energy show, they were great.

The show was pretty awesome, the crowd was really enthusiastic and having a good time. The opener was a bit unpolished, and would have endeared himself to the audience a whole lot more if he had danced a bit (seriously, just tap your foot or something. Silly handwaves. Anything.) but he was not a complete washout. Once Scissor Sisters took the stage it was pretty amazing. I really enjoyed it.

  • Energized and upbeat show

by Baltimoreconcertgoer on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

After a well-intended but ultimately wrong-headed detour with their second album, Scissor Sisters wisely returned to their club "roots" with their third album (Night Work) whose songs were featured in this concert along with those that made their first album such a success. A few years of touring have made SS a very tight band. Along with some choreographed dance moves (which include the two lead singers and the two female back up singers) and a neat light show and set design, the show was great fun all around. The audience stood (and often danced) throughout the generous entire 1 hour and 45 minute set. The only downside was the lousy sound (i.e. booming bass and poor instrument separation which often made the lead vocals indistinct) which, based on my past visits to DAR Hall, was not the fault either of the PA system or the SS sound mixer but rather was due to the lousy and highly variable acoustics of the Hall itself. But the great upside was that ticket prices were very reasonable and affordable, which was likely helped by the fact that this was Monday rather than a weekend evening show. In sum, if you like hearing SS tunes on the radio but haven't seen them work it live, you owe yourself (and your booty) a visit to one of their concerts!

  • scissor sisters: AMAZING!

by LovingtheScisterhood on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

What a feel-good show - you come out feeling like a million bucks! The band is really charismatic, lots of stage presence, voices are fantastic live, and extremely entertaining and personable - the crowd responded really well. LOVED them and hope they return to DC soon! Plus, at $40/ticket their show was reasonably priced. Their opener (casey spooner, i think?)...totally different story. I took off a star for having to sit through his act - the scisters need to ditch him immediately. He was a friend of the band, and sounded like a guy who just decided to do karaoke one night and predictably sucked. No stage presence, songs were ok/mediocre, and his voice was awful and often off-key. He sang to a pre-recorded track and just stood there as stiff as a board, and tried to get the sympathy vote with comments like ("i was built to fail", or "i have no confidence in this material so I really need your support", etc). Most of the people around us (including myself) were angry that their beloved Scisters had included him on the bill, meaning that we had PAID to hear this guy sing. He was so horrible my blood was boiling. The crowd was angry at the shockingly bad performance...that is, until the fantastic Scissor Sisters came on to make us forget all of our worries...LOVE them and would go see them again!

  • Really great show

by dcjiminy on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Band was awesome. Singers were awesome. Great energy. Sound was not so great. Was hard to hear the vocals. Too much bass/background. But, was a great show and would definitely go again. My only other comment is that it would have been good to know when the acts were actually performing. I tried to find information but none was available. Doors opened at 7:00 and Scissor Sisters didn't go on until a little after 9:00.

  • You, too, are a Scissor Sister!

by Atropos on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Easily one of the best, most energetic shows I’ve seen in years. Despite the fact that DAR Constitution Hall’s AV system worked overtime to overpower Jake and Ana’s voices, the band shone with amazing energy. The crowd was on its feet dancing virtually the entire show. If you like the band’s music (and what’s not to like about a mix of techno, 70s dance, rich ballads, and seriously fun camp?), you really ought to see them live. You will be blown away!

  • Fantastic

The was every thing expected and more. The song mix were GREAT. The costume change was unexpected but amazing.

  • Scissor Sisters - amazing!

by HNMjpg on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Scissor Sisters give an unforgettable show of their high energy, rockin music. Listen to their music, and then RUN to see them. Jake is...well, gorgeous and an amazing showman, Ana looks fantastic, and the concert was a blast! The sound could have been better, but that's DAR.

  • Invisible Light

by ncthomeexp on 8/24/10Dar Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Invisible Light was by far the best of the night. Also enjoyed Skin Tight. Jake was tearing up the stage with his dancing and Ana was just awesome.
