Best show I have seen in 2010. They sang like they ment it and looked damn good too!! These people are artists. A rareity in pop music today. The mixed crowd (gay, straight whatever) danced for the entire show.

  • Scissor Sisters... A cut above.

by Zanadude on 9/6/10EPIC - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

These guys are as much fun to see as they are to listen to. Jake is a true front man with just an amazing falsetto. Anna - She's part swinging band member and part emcee... us gay boys just Love Her! My best view was of guitarist Del Marquis. He's even more adorable in person. From the moment this group took the stage, they had everyone's attention and interest. They did a great job of mixing up the songs from their three albums and just kept the energy levels up. I had had a busy week and was feeling a little drained going to the venue. The Sisters woke my up and then some. You couldn't help but get into the music and the atmosphere. The venue was in club EPIC in downtown Minneapolis. We'd never been there before and we'd never seen a concert in such a small venue. Honesty, the club was tres chic and it really contributed to enhancing the overall feel of the concert. Love you, Sister friends!

  • The Scissor Sisters Bring the Party

    by Lucerne07 on 9/6/10EPIC - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I have never been to a concert that was more fun. The Scissor Sisters show was a non-stop dance fest. They were sexy and funny, and everyone in the house was eating up every minute of it. The Sisters had loads of energy, and everything was beautifully choreographed while still seeming spontaneous. I will absolutely make a point of seeing them again. Also, Epic in Minneapolis was a great venue for them. There were plenty of vantage points to watch and a big dance floor in front of the stage. Very highly recommended!

This show was amazing! Such high energy - every song was so great. It was hot as hell in there but we didn't care because Jake & Ana sounded so perfect. I loved the CD, but after hearing certain songs live, I love it even more. SEE THEM!!!!

  • Awesome but hot!

by TuckerJH on 9/5/10Riviera Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The show they put on was excellent! Everything was amazing! The biggest thing that made me not enjoy the show was the fact that it was much hotter than a standard concert! At points I couldn't breathe and wanted to passout! The concert and music was great especially the finale!

The venue was hot. The people were sweaty. The show was amazing. First time seeing Scissor Sisters live and I cannot wait to see them again.

I actually am an A&R for a record label and I think I have to speak up. I am going to focus on the music only and not the scene or people that follow this band. The band itself is not bad, they can play music and they play it well. I love their 70's and new wave 80's flair to most of their material. The vocalists are just not amazing to me. The whole Bee Gee high pitched voice thing can work in some music but it just does not come correctly with this group. For the price I paid for this ticket, over 50 which is more than I paid for U2, I got a karaoke band. Erasure would have been so much more worth this ticket price. The largely gay crowd was awesome and I loved the enthusiasm. But the vocals were just not there. It's as if they just shout out lyrics, no harmonizing, nothing. The sound was terribly loud at the Riv, to the point where everyone around me had to roll up napkins and put them in our ears and I love loud music, but this was ear splitting. I would not pay more than 15 dollars to see this band. I would rather pay 5 dollars and go see Fugazi.

  • Another awesome show!

If you are a Scissor Sisters fan and haven't seen them live, you must! Even if it means going to a faraway city, it is totally worth it. They bring such energy and it always enhances my appreciation of them and their music!

  • Night work I'll remember

by Goodluv on 9/4/10Riviera Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing, filthy, gorgeous concert! I would totally go to another show. They know how to put on a show! The venue was pretty nice too. It reminded me of The Metro.

  • Another amazing performance by Scissor Sisters!!!

This being my second time seeing The Scissor Sisters at The Riviera, was like revisiting the first time. Jake Shears and Ana Matronic have amazing energy and powerful vocals that got the whole place jamming. Love love love them!!!!

High energy, wildly entertaining, non-stop dancing. Amazing.

  • They rocked the rocky house

by WeAreSissorSisters on 9/4/10Riviera Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Scissor Sisters were amazing and they put on an amazing show!! The only down side is that the venue can use a little bit maintenance and the stage is too small for Scissor Sisters awesomeness

  • The Scissor Sisters were Amazing!

by Anonymous on 9/4/10Riviera Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a fan of the Scissor Sisters for years. This has been my first show that I was able to attended. I was blown away by the production and entertainment I received at this concert. They played most of the music from their latest album Night Work and few other gems from their other two albums. I felt that they cared about each member of their audience and they wanted everyone to have a good time during the show. The only downside was the venue (Riviera Theatre) needed central air to control the temperatures in the house and stage. Even the performer right before when the Sisters came on was complaining about the heat.

  • What an amazing experience!

by Jimmerino on 9/4/10Riviera Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

We had a total, unqualified blast! The show was high-energy booty-shakin' fun from the first note to the unfortunate last. The band was funny as ever, engaging, beautiful, and in top form. I cannot recommend seeing these guys and gal(s) highly enough. If you have a pulse and, better yet, can bounce up and down ecstatically for around two hours, you should get yourself as close to the front row as possible and shake your groove thang, yeah, yeah! Listen, as well, to any discussion about an after-party. We got to meet both the lead singer Jake Shears, the lead guitarist Del Marquis, and the talented opening act, Casey Spooner, all nice as can be, at a local establishment of their naming, and... just hang with the folk who'd just rocked our world. A FANTASTIC memory! Thank you, Scissor Sisters!!

  • Amazing!!

they never put on a bad show, and they keep getting better and better each time...over-the-top performance!

  • Fantastic group that deserves a better venue

by Micmetz on 9/4/10Riviera Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Great concert put on by a super group that really knows how to entertain. Too bad that the venue is so run down and not air conditioned ... concert goers (and the performers) were complaining and miserable!

  • Scissor Sisters was awesome, but...

    by newzdude76 on 9/4/10Riviera Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Scissor Sisters was awesome, the band totally rocked and Jake was incredible. But the venue took a lot out of the show because of the lousy acoustics. The sound team also seemed to have trouble at times getting the vocals right, particularly Jake's on a few songs when he sings lower in his vocal range. There were moments when you couldn't hear him at all.

  • Scissor Sisters was amazing!

This is the second time I've seen them in concert. The first was in San Diego a few years ago. They put on such a fun show. They looked and sounded great!
