About

School of Rock on tour - The ultimate field trip!

Andrew Lloyd Weber's high-octane Broadway & West End hit will soon be rocking up to a city near you! Based on the hit film, this irresistible new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.

Good for kids...hard on adults. New Lloyd Weber song, head, shoulders and torso above the rest!

    Thoroughly enjoyable!

by JSTSP on 11/29/17Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

School of Rock was one of the most enjoyable musicals we have seen. In our opinion, the kids were the whole show! They were unbelievably talented! Not that the adults weren't talented as well, but there's just something about a youngster belting out a song or rocking guitar riffs or dazzling you with the drum beat or setting the keyboard on fire with his fingers that is so entertaining. If you're looking for a high energy, contemporary musical, School of Rock is it! We would highly recommend it!

    Totaly enjoyed it!

by Ivan532 on 11/28/17Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

I bought tickets to the Saturday night sow, and did not regret it. My wife and I watched the movie a week or two before the show. Honestly I was a bit nervous about the musical after being not that impressed with the movie. The musical was so much fun. I would recommend this to anyone, young or old.

School of Rock shows heart, and rocks!

by Jenksy on 11/27/17Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

All the elements that made the film so popular were present in the touring Broadway show: Very talented young actors/musicians, humor, and an underlying pull on our heart strings! Whenever the kids were on stage, they stole the show. While a few of the early scenes dragged, once the show got rolling there was a never-ending smile on my face. My only complaint was that at times, it was very difficult to hear/understand the lyrics from the singers. I have no idea if if was the acoustics or if the music was amped up too loudly but valuable parts of the story were lost when I could not understand what they were singing.

    What fun, kid friendly show

by BroadwayNerd16 on 11/25/17Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

This was probably my best experience at the Marcus Performing Arts Center & the show was incredible! School of Rock, The Musical was mind blowing amazing! It is funny show but also sentimental. The kids in the show were amazingly talented. There is some language in the show but I think it is a kid friendly show. Now for my experience at the Center was great! I was sitting in Center loge which is higher than I usually sit and I became very dizzy. The usher working in my section was wonderful and let me sit in a regular chair in handicap (no one was in that section), which helped me tremendously.

    Higgledy Piggledy Mom

by intothecity on 11/24/17Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

While I didn't like the movie production at first, not being a Jack Black fan at the time, it began to grow on me and I really liked it. It's a more obvious transition from movie to stage and there iit was. Watching the Tony awards and SoR entered and performed, I was over the moon. It's taken a while to get to see this wonderful production, with an amazing cast and the kids are every bit as professional and talented as their adult actors-so very impressive. I'm glad we had the chance to go on a Tuesday-before Thanksgiving as it made the rest of the holiday weekend that much more special. The balcony seats at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts were excellent, and there was no problem hearing anything. I can't recommend this production enough-saw plenty of kids along with their adults, so that's a recommendation in itself. A very worthy transition to stage. Thank you.
