About

School of Rock on tour - The ultimate field trip!

Andrew Lloyd Weber's high-octane Broadway & West End hit will soon be rocking up to a city near you! Based on the hit film, this irresistible new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.

    Awesome

by D. S. on 6/8/19San Jose Center for the Performing Arts - San Jose

True to the movie which most people remember. Talented cast and looked like everyone was having fun which spilled over into the audience. Would go again.

    Disappointed

by L. on 6/7/19San Jose Center for the Performing Arts - San Jose

It was 1-star show. I added another star for the main character role, who’s performed quite well. Kids group was cute, quite good for the school play. Unfortunately, it was not up-to “Broadway” level. My wife and I left during the intermission. I used to be a regular at San Jose Performing Art theater, with seasonal tickets. Then I stopped due to a number of misses. I will wait another 1-2 years before checking again.

    Audio was not great

    by M. on 5/21/19Paramount Theatre - Seattle

It was hard to enjoy the show because the audio was pretty bad in the back. Couldn’t understand what anyone was saying or singing. Can’t tell if it was a lack of enunciation or a sound problem. But the singing that I could understand was not very good either. However, it was very true to the movie

    I thought it was wonderful.

by Sharon Harriss on 5/17/19Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I had seen this production in New York and this was as wonderful as that experience. Sometimes children's voices are harder to understand and this was not the case. Very clear and just so enjoyable.

    So much fun!

by AnnaBee on 5/17/19Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Show was great, the kids are so talented. Lots of fun. Only drawback was the sound mixing. A lot of the lyrics were lost due to over exaggerated enunciation and loud music.

    good show...but...

by diversefi on 2/24/19Boston Opera House - Boston

loved the premise and production....but wished the kids played more music and instruments...i expected more of the kids to sing also....there were 4 basic instruments being played by the kids and most of the others just danced and sometimes sang....I went there for the kids and got more music from the adults than i wanted....that said, we had a great time and it's great for all ages....

Really doesn't warrant being called a "Broadway Show".

by Robert. on 2/24/19Boston Opera House - Boston

Many people left at intermission. Performance is listless. Lead singer is unfortunately pretty weak. Music is less than imaginative which is surprising as many songs were written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The young musicians are the only redeeming part of the play. Something to avoid even if tickets are free.

    Fabulous show in fabulous theatre

by Girls only on 2/24/19Boston Opera House - Boston

The musical was wonderful. Full of energy. I booked this because it happened to be on when I happened to be in Boston. A little disappointed as it would be my type of musical. Glad I did- won’t be so narrow thinking again. Great music, acting and movement. Set fabulous too. Very engaging all way through.

    by K. M. on 2/23/19Boston Opera House - Boston

My 8 year old and 11 year old sons loved it. The grown ups did too! There was some language though the boys just giggled and I didn’t think it was too offensive
