The show was excellent!!! I was really impressed with the kids that performed in the show
Excellent show!!!! Amazing simply beautiful! The children put their heart and soul into this show Savion deserves an Oscar for the time he spent doing this performance
For years my daughter and I have looked forward to attending a Savion Glover performance. We were delighted to be able to attend this recent performance. Not having seen him perform in years past I am not sure how his performances have changed or evolved. This was not the “dancing” performance we anticipated. He has evolved more to a dance as a form of music/musical accompaniment. While it was interesting, creative and passionate for the artists, it was not what I expected. I would not be interested in seeing him perform again.
Mr Glover’s feet seem to come from another planet. I was watching them and still can’t figure out how they made all those sounds! That man’s legs are a national treasure. The show celebrated Coltrane’s music. And the entire evening was a celebration. The vocalist and musicians supported Mr. Glover’s talent , and together they created art that I won’t soon forget. Also, it was my first time to NJPAC- gorgeous venue! I hope to go back soon.
Great show -- he is the best. But 1 hour and 20 minutes... a little disappointing
Coltrane would be honored by this amazing tribute.
Musically, boundary pushing, filled with soul and inventivenness. This was a unique pushing of the boudaries of movement and sound melded together into an exhilarating , sustaining evening of riveting inventiveness. The presentation soared on the feet of Savion Glivdr.
This incredible production was inspiring, moving, and utterly entertaining. These young, talented actors showcased the music of Coltrane, as well as his flawed, human struggle with life. I could not believe the talent on that stage......every moment was a new opportunity to be surprised with visual and musical rewards. Thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring.
The show was amazing. The kids were wonderful - excited and on point! My 9 year-old was amazed. We will be back next year!!!
Excellent! It touched all my emotions... What great talents ...dancers, singers, musicians and actors. My Applause again to the cast and Savion Glover.
John Coltrane Story was very interesting. The children that portrayed the whole story were absolutely AWESOME!!!! These children sang, dance you name it they did it!! Bravo to the Director and Cast!
Savion did a great job bringing out the best in these children. Big ups to Kamar Curley aka Miles Davis
Indescribable....great show by some talented future stars...
This presentation was well put together. As a huge fan of Coltrane, I thought the production really captured his life and energy well. The young performers were fabulous!!!
I took my 11 year old granddaughter to see the play. There wasn't a dull moment. The acting & singing by the children & teenagers was excellent. The story-line held my attention & for once my talkative granddaughter sat there in awe. I am not into jazz, but watching that play has made me want to know more about John Coltrane & jazz...It was entertaining & educational...It was amazing.
I saw Savion when he was a young boy on Broadway when he performed in The Tap Dance Kid. He blew me away then and i was even more blown away when I saw him perform yesterday. Savion and his performers take tap to an entirely new level! Each routine was inventive, unique and amazing. i have now added a tap dance lesson with Savion to my bucket list!
Savion is truly amazing. This was my second time seeing him perform and I get chills every time! So glad I had the chance to see him perform again. What a legend!
Absolutely unbelievable. Savion is a true genius and artist that will always amaze you.
This was an absolutely amazing, stripped down performance. Just Savion and four exceptional jazz musicians. They all played as one band with Savion as the conductor. Hands down, one of the best performances I have ever seen
