This is a great show. Savon danced his arse off! I saw this show in San Antonio. The band and singer were OUTSTANDING as well. Amazing!!!
I had never seen Mr. Glover in person and was just expecting to be entertained. I was not expecting the experience I had. I truly felt a connection with him as did all the other audience members I spoke to. He danced so hard it made ME tired. He really left everything out there on the stage. I was blessed by the experience - and SO glad that took along my 78 year-old mother. She was smiling and commenting the whole time. She said she felt like connection with Mr. Glover as well.
What a show! Savion Glover was unbelievable!!!!! He never stops tapping. The ultimate tap dancer. Visions of the Bible was an excellent performance. I loved the interaction between him, the singer and the jazz combo.
Savion Glover is a must-see performer, watching him is akin to a religious epiphany. He gives 110% with joy, all the while making what he does seem effortless.
Visions of a Bible was an truly unforgettable evening. Mr. Glover uses his body as a rhythm instrument in this truly unique setting. The first half is a duet between taps and voice (Ms. Hunter). The interplay between the two is original and breathtaking. The second half is between Mr. Glover and his band. What a jazz treat. I often wondered about the dynamics of the band with 4 rhythm instruments (drums, bass, piano and taps), but the result was fascinating. A unique sound and rhythm I will long remember. I first saw Mr. Glover in Jelly's Last Jam, and while amazing even then, he's come so far in skill and understanding of tap as a unique art form. I highly recommend this show.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE - THIS IS TRULY A MUST SEE FOR YOUNG AND OLD - BREATHTAKING
This is the second time that I have seen him live. Once again, he did not disappoint. The woman (unfortunately I cannot remember her name) that sang with him during the first Act was superb and definitely held her own. Neither over shawdowed the other. The second Act was breathless and hard to put words to. He and his band brought you into their world as each member played their instrument while Savion matched them with tap and even occasionally song. His band rivals any touring jazz band. His energy is unmatched. He had a personality during this Act made you feel as if you were watching a rehersal were he simply showcased his talent and just had fun. You leave the show wondering were this bottomless energy comes from...and how many shirts does he sweat though on tour!!!
