Less tellers every year, less betting machines, wifi spotty and NYRA app crashed. Better off staying home and betting Del Mar or other sports. Nyra has whittled away at the charm of the place to point trending toward unrecognizable.
I had a table reserved for 6 and they had only 2 waitresses scheduled for the day. They could not provide the service expected as they had to many tables to cover each. If you pay a charge just to reserve a table you expect enough people working to provide adequate service! Part of the table charge should be refunded we had to go up to the bar to get our own drinks many times during the day
Great venue and service. Our server Mike was wonderful...
At $20 a seat, there are better places to sit, dine, watch the races. Server was awful. We had 12 people at 2 tables, she could have made some money. No more Dave’s for us, we like the Porch.
The Location was good as it was easy to get to the windows and outside to watch the races live. The service was pretty bad. Very, Very Slow. 30 mins to get a bucket of waters and on diet soda. The prices have gotten out of control. $12 for a 16oz can of Coors Light is a bit ridiculous. Very few food choices as well...and all very pricey. This is all on top of paying $25 just to sit there.
Always enjoy going to FourStarDave when we visit Saratoga! Mike is usually our waiter…excellent job always
Another wonderful visit to Saratoga. We love sitting in FourStarDave. Mike was our waiter for last few years who is extremely hard working & attentive. Perfect location inside the track. Close to everything...bars, restaurants, mutual areas.
Visited Saratoga for two days this week and camped at the FourStarDave both days! Happy with the arrangement but not so happy with the Must Table Service. Waitress was pleasant enough but kept changing the price on what we ordered. $12.00 for an IPA, seemed out of line and $6.00 of a soda! Don't understand why you can bring your cooler to the track but have to pay for service at the FourStarDave. Would recommend that they change their policy on bringing in snacks and drinks, seemed so unfair. May book a different arrangement next year.
Terrible Experience... $25 per person to sit at a table... that's it. We never saw a waiter or waitress at our table. We had to get all our own food and drinks from vendors. People without valid wrist bands were flocking to these tables for free.... sitting and eating their food and drinking their drinks at tables for free, when we had paid $100 for our 4-top table. Very misrun and understaffed. Not worth the extra money at all. Bad experience 2 years in a row... I'll spend my money on good seats along the finish line from now forward. Get your act together!!
Having been a loyal and frequent flyer every year since 2019 we have enjoyed the table, setting and service. Unfortunately this past week we sat at 12:45 and at 1:15 went to the bar to get drinks and ask if they still had service. Server cane to the table at 3:10. Table was also dirty was day before. Sadly this is no longer a good place.
Lots of room between tables. Very limited menu and extremely slow service. Food comes from vendors which are in easy walking distance. Lousy beer menu. No real craft beers.
I love being in 4 star Dave’s. The tables are big and the staff is friendly.
Saratoga is not just for horse racing. Great restaurants, lots of shops and things to do. Upstate NY is beautiful. Fun town.
It is very convenient to have a reserved seat under cover in case of rain and very close to walking outside to enjoy the races. Only reason why I didn’t give it five stars is that we ordered a pizza from the waitress and for whatever reason it took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. I think they only have two servers for the entire area which may be the reason for the slow service. Pizza wasn’t that great either. Next time we would probably get the same seed arrangements but bring back food from the snack bar on our own
Excellent location and convenience for a day at the Spa . . . wait staff was hit and miss over the two days (one very good, one mediocre) . . .. could do a better job letting you know that available food and drink options rather than "guess what liquors we have available." Overall Saratoga Race Course is a stunning and historic venue and a great day out.
To start, there check-in scanner process wasn’t working. The waiter was scarce. The food was terrible!!!! The prices outrageous. And when we tried to leave and pay the bill, after asking the waiter 3x for it, he never showed up. We left and my credits card was over charged not once but with two charges. Have been trying for 3 days to reach someone at the course or restaurant to rectify and it has been like hitting a brick wall! Worst experience ever.
Love the Fourstardave. Nice tables, people leave you alone. Lots of room. Lots of TVs.
Had a great time with my brothers, it was packed. Had great seats.
Service was long due to limited number of servers. Our server was friendly and tried his best to keep up. No air conditioning in 93-degree humid weather and a limited menu. Do not waste your money unless you want a place to write.
We love Fourstardave's when visiting the track! We have a seat and table all day, covered in case of rain, out of the sun, and easy to people watch and get around to all the attractions! The hostesses are always pleasant and Mike, who has waited on us a few years in a row now, is excellent! Seats of two, four, and six are available, which is a nice option. Nice set-up for the cost. The only drawback is that the drinks are very expensive at the Fourstardave's bar, as is the food at the track in general (food and drinks are not allowed to be brought from home at Fourstardave's).
