About

Sarah McLachlan became one of most distinctive female vocalists after breaking out in the ’90s behind singles such as “Building a Mystery” and “I Will Remember You.” The Halifax, Nova Scotia native released her debut album Touch in 1988 and logged her first Hot 100-charting singles with 1994’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Her 1997 effort Surfacing debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and hosted her three highest-charting Hot 100 singles: “Building a Mystery,” at No. 13, “Adia” at No. 3 and “Angel” at No. 4. The album went on to win two Grammy Awards. Surfacing also coincided with the first Lilith Fair, the wildly successful all-female touring festival co-founded and hosted by McLachlan that took place from 1997 through 1999 and became the top-grossing music festival of the late-’90s. 2003’s Afterglow marked McLachlan’s third consecutive Top 10 album, and she maintained that streak with studio albums released through 2014’s Shine On. McLachlan has won 12 JUNO Awards and in 2017 was inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

by Jackie on 7/2/24Ascend Amphitheater - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was my third time seeing Sarah McLachlan and she was amazing as always! Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville is a great venue- clean and efficiently run! Loved the option for lawn chair rentals. Sarah is so talented and can’t wait to see her again!

  • muddy vocals

by Jack on 7/2/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

Sarah McLachlan and her band were fantastic. Fun show, enthusiastic, great guitars; superb vocals that were marred by muddiness. Guitar, piano, keys were out front as they should be and crisp & clear. The rhythm section and especially Sarah’s vocals were mired in the wall of sound. Volume was about right, just a sloppy mix. A shame for such a world class musician. Love you Sarah, please return in the future.

  • Incredible!

  • So Damn Amazing!!

by bdo on 7/1/24TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I could literally not imagine a more perfect evening. She is a total rockstar

  • Excellent singer, venue needs a sound upgrade

by IC on 7/1/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah was amazing. Telling stories between her songs and really engaging with the audience. Sarah gets the 5 stars. The facility gets 2 stars. Unfortunately, this was my first time to sit in a side section (203) at Merriweather Post and the sound is night and day different from the middle section. There is an echo and quieter notes and words are completely muffled or garbled. The speakers are directed towards the middle so this maybe the issue. (2 nights later, same section, same sound issue with Alanis) Also be prepared to have your phone out at all times when traveling to the bathroom or concessions, as your ticket is checked not just at the gate when you first enter but every time you try to reenter your area and then again at your seat. People all night long were stopped from returning to their seat because their ticket was on someone else’s phone or they left their phone with a friend while they went to the bathroom. They would then be followed to their row, the person would have to crawl over people, get the phone, crawl back over people to show the ticket, then crawl back again. Sincerely folks, don’t you think that if someone was sitting in the wrong seats, the people with the tickets to those actual seats would tell you? And an hour deep into the concert, people are settled into place. The people going back and forth aren’t new arrivals, they are bathroom and concession folks. So if you are carrying a drink and food, you will need a 3rd arm to show your ticket. Also, women be prepared for long bathroom lines. I know we are “used” to the lines but maybe someday engineers will build venues with more women’s bathroom space.

  • Amazing Concert

by Traci on 7/1/24TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing concert. Sarah McLachlan sounded & looked great. It was very nostalgic, the venue was great & just a great evening all around with friends.

  • Lyrical beauty

by CML on 7/1/24TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

A hot steamy night with beautiful music and a very chill atmosphere. Sarah sang gorgeously and we had a lovely time.

  • What a great show in a great venue

by AfromPhilly on 7/1/24TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah is just as good, if not better, than she was 30 years ago. She's an incredible performer, and really connects to the audience. She also didn't cut any corners on a longer set when it was very very hot outside at the pavilion. I am very happy I decided to suck up the heat and head to the show. WELL worth it. Also, The Mann is a great little venue.

  • Music levels

by Dan on 7/1/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the level of music that was played that was quite easy on the ears from the lawn section. The speakers were such that the sound wasn’t maxed it to make the music scratchy. Good sound all the way around.

  • She’s just so good.

by Csparrow on 7/1/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

All of the old favorites. Goosebumps and even a few nostalgic tears. She is phenomenal and her band is fantastic. It was like spending time with an old friend. Highly recommend.

  • Better than ever!

by The Cheri on 7/1/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah is always incredible but she was even more so. One of my favorite parts of the night was her life stories that she shared. I also loved the various backdrops, especially the close ups of her. It allowed me to get some good pics. Her voice was beautiful and strong. Absolutely enjoyed it!

  • Great concert

by Chick on 6/30/24TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Thought the concert was amazing! Loved the venue. Great night

  • Fantastic Show

by Sailorman on 6/30/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show, but I paid for premium parking, $45, when we arrived there was no signage to direct you where to go and when we asked a parking attendant they did not know anything about that. Apparently it doesn't exist. We checked with customer service once inside the venue and we were told parking is free in the surrounding garages and premium parking does not exist. So I would like to request my money back please.

  • Sarah McLachlan is positively ethereal.

by LM on 6/30/24TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first time I've had the pleasure of seeing Sarah McLachlan live. She put on a stunning show. She sounds amazing. I loved the conversation she had with her audience between songs. She performed for almost two hours. Sarah and the bad were simply outstanding. Feist the opening act was also fantastic. Now on to the venue, I like The TD Pavilion at The Mann Music Center, but the fact that I had to walk a gauntlet of alcohol venders in order to reach the water station was absurd. Equally absurd was not allowing outside chairs so people were forced to rent them. I was in the covered area so I didn't need a chair. But due to the placement of the seat in the box in front of me my view of the stage was the back of the person in front of me in the box seating. The design is awful. I don't usually sit in the balcony and will never do so again. I appreciate the large screens otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see the performer at all.

  • Absolutely beautiful

by Maria on 6/30/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah McLaughlin has an unbelievable voice - clear, pure and gorgeous. She Is classy and engaging. Loved every minute of her show.

  • Job well done!!

by Bill on 6/30/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I am an ADA patron. My seats were originally Section 304, row LL, seats 13/14. I recently had back surgery and I need a walker to get around. I dropped by the Box Office in the early afternoon and explained my situation. It was recommended by “Jane” that when I arrive, to request a Relocation Specialist. I followed suit and we were relocated. The staff was very professional and we enjoyed the show. Thank you!!
