About

Sarah McLachlan became one of most distinctive female vocalists after breaking out in the ’90s behind singles such as “Building a Mystery” and “I Will Remember You.” The Halifax, Nova Scotia native released her debut album Touch in 1988 and logged her first Hot 100-charting singles with 1994’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Her 1997 effort Surfacing debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and hosted her three highest-charting Hot 100 singles: “Building a Mystery,” at No. 13, “Adia” at No. 3 and “Angel” at No. 4. The album went on to win two Grammy Awards. Surfacing also coincided with the first Lilith Fair, the wildly successful all-female touring festival co-founded and hosted by McLachlan that took place from 1997 through 1999 and became the top-grossing music festival of the late-’90s. 2003’s Afterglow marked McLachlan’s third consecutive Top 10 album, and she maintained that streak with studio albums released through 2014’s Shine On. McLachlan has won 12 JUNO Awards and in 2017 was inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

  • Talented imperfect magnificent Sarah McLaughlin

by Michelle on 11/29/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Dear Sarah I am so grateful to have attended her Seattle Evening. She was genuine about struggles with relationships with her best friend, her mother, and her daughter. So real 🙏. I'm 61, so nearly the same age and have faced similar challenges. Was truly emotional relating to what she shared. The F bombs too. We have all been there. Completely unexpected but made me appreciate her even more. I'm glad to know the stories behind some of her songs now too. She shared that she founded the Sarah McLaughlin School of Music in 2000, current enrollment 2000 students who might not otherwise have a lot of options, and going strong at 25 years. Beautiful. Hearing and seeing her perform after loving her music for many years was truly beautiful also. Thank you so much 🙏 Sarah

  • Better Broken Tour

by Sweet Surrender on 11/29/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah's Better Broken tour has had many sold out shows! 30+ years of performing live and still fills a venue, she's doing something right! Always a 2hr performance that does not ever disappoint! We'll worth the ticket price!

  • Low energy

by Foxpaw on 11/29/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 2 out of 5

Low energy performance. Very short. Getting older; voice has lost some of the high notes. Muddy mix in speakers. Guitarist was out of tune.

by Kathy on 11/26/25Armory - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Minus the number of people who feel that it is ok to talk at any time during a concert, this was a fantastic experience. Sarah does not disappoint. Her voice is Amazing!

  • Amazing Performance

by SarahFan on 11/26/25Armory - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah McLachlan creates a night of magic for her audience. She started the night by "opening for herself"by playing piano and singing old and new songs. When her band joined in, the sound blossomed and soon everyone was singing along, captivated. Her fans are loyal to her as a performer and compassionate humanitarian. We can't wait to see her again.

  • Sarah McLachlan is just pure gold

by Clemens on 11/25/25The Auditorium - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah McLachlan delivered an evening that was just pure gold. Everything was beautiful: the stage, the musical song choices, her voice, her piano and guitar playing, her storytelling, the sound, the lighting, and especially the fresh arrangements. There was so much effort in everything that it could easily be felt - even if she purposefully kept everything clear and simple. The sound was so fresh and clear that every song felt like you heard it for the first time. No song sounded like the radio version we are used to. Her angelic voice is even more beautiful live than on the recordings. Especially the older recordings don't compete with the actual live music. Thankfully, her newest album Better Broken is sooo good that we absolutely had to go and see her. She easily exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend everyone to go and see her show. Also, the Auditorium in Chicago is a really good venue. It was a perfect evening! Thank you so much!

  • Sarah McLachlan - better than ever!

by Bryan on 11/25/25The Auditorium - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen her perform, and have to say she was better than ever. Great mix of new and older hits, voice was utterly amazing, talking with audience was charming, and acoustics at the auditorium theatre were perfect. Wonderful evening.

  • Fabulous concert from beginning to end

by JST on 11/25/25The Auditorium - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah played all of her classics then some. The order of her songs was great. Her supporting up band was fabulous! Her voice is still one of best! This is the 3rd time I seen her (over a 20 years period and this performance was the best! She is a real pro! The Auditorium theatre added the right ambience making it a memorable concert! Well done all!

  • A flawless performance!

by Edgetaker on 11/25/25The Auditorium - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The Auditorium was the perfect venue for Sarah! Delighting the audience with her new songs as well as old favorites. However, whoever did the lighting for her did a disservice for those of us up in the front of the first balcony, as we were almost blinded a couple of times, especially with the white spots! It might look great in theory, but in practice, not so much!

  • Good

by Dan on 11/25/25The Auditorium - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

Our first time going to a show at the Auditorium. The theatre was very nice, good staff, decent comfortable seats. We were in row N, center. The music was good but we felt the vocals were muddled. For such a good songwriter we wanted to hear the words in her stories, but we struggled to decipher what she was singing. When she was just talking and no music was playing, we could hear her fine but once the other musicians kicked in, her voice was lost. Disappointed.

  • Evening with Sarah McLachlan experience

by Kim on 11/25/25The Auditorium - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The auditorium it's a beautiful event facility. The the seats in the balcony were very uncomfortable, but the sound system was very good. The staff was very friendly, everyone that I encountered smiled and spoke to me. They were also very helpful in helping me find my seat.
