Santana in Concert
Few musicians in the history of American popular music inspire the same reverence as Carlos Santana. For more than four decades, he has been one of the music world's most distinctive and exciting guitarists, maintaining his reputation as an artist who continues to revolutionize the form.
Long before listeners knew terms like "fusion" and "world music," Santana was already a master who blended genres and traditions into a sound that was all his own. It's no wonder the young guitarist generated so much excitement as a foremost member of the Bay Area's fertile music community of the late 1960s.
With the release of his debut album Santana and an incendiary set at Woodstock in 1969, Santana established himself as one of the key artists of the era, gaining worldwide fame for his band's combination of Latin, jazz, blues, rock, and R&B. The new star proved his staying power when Santana remained on the Billboard charts and successors Abraxas and Santana III both reached No. 1.
In 1998, Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to racking up career sales of more than 100 million records, he earned another spot in history books when Supernatural — the multiplatinum 1999 album that included such hits as "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" — won nine Grammy Awards, tying the record for most wins by a single project.
In 2014, he published his best-selling memoir, The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light. Among his recent musical endeavors has been Santana IV, a thrilling album that saw him reunite with musicians from his band's early-‘70s lineup; and Power of Peace, a deeply soulful collaboration with The Isley Brothers.
Santana returned with more new music in 2019. In Search of Mona Lisa is an EP featuring three instrumentals inspired by the awe he felt the first time he saw Leonardo da Vinci's painting during a visit to the Louvre. Santana continues to inspire the same reaction at shows by the current incarnation of the band that bears his name. His team of first-tier players includes drummer Cindy Blackman Santana (Lenny Kravitz, Pharoah Sanders), bassist Benny Rietveld (Miles Davis, Sheila E.), keyboardist David K. Mathews (Tower of Power, Etta James), and percussionist Karl Perazzo (Mariah Carey, Tito Puente).
Santana on Tour
Grammy Award-winning, legendary artists Carlos Santana and Earth, Wind & Fire embark on a North American tour. A continuation of 2019's Supernatural Now tour for Santana, the Miraculous Supernatural 2020 Tour marks the first time these two powerhouses share the stage in the U.S. The Live Nation-produced outing kicks off June 19th in San Diego and makes stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Toronto, and more before wrapping August 29th in Tampa.
Santana, and his band (which also features Santana's wife, Cindy Blackman Santana) highlight songs from both his Supernatural and Woodstock eras, as well as newer tracks from his 2019 full-length album Africa Speaks and some incredible surprises. Earth, Wind & Fire is one of music's most celebrated musical forces in history with an iconic music catalog that has been the soundtrack of millions of lives around the world.
In 2019, Santana celebrated the 20th anniversary of his revolutionary, multiple Grammy Award-wining album Supernatural, along with the 50th anniversary of his Woodstock performance. Santana's 1999 album Supernatural featured the back-to-back No. 1 singles "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" and sold over 30 million copies worldwide, topping the charts in over a dozen countries and sweeping the 2000 Grammy Awards.

Santana was great as usual. Great guitar, drums, keyboards, horns and vocals.
Great concert .. the performance was outstanding Never disrespect nor disregard the legends.
It turned out to be a great night for an outdoor show, and my husband and I are so glad we went! Even though it was a last-minute decision, and we only bought gen'l admission lawn seats (which we never usually do), we purchased the tix that included a chair rental so we didn't have to sit on the ground. In addition to Santana, who were amazing as always, we also had the pleasure of enjoying Earth Wind & Fire in concert for the first time. After listening to their music for so many years, it was wonderful to experience their live show! They tour with very talented horn players.
Our first concert. It was fun. Easy in and easy out.
Santana was excellent as always. His band and singers were phenomenal. Finally his wife Cindy was the bomb.
The show was magnificent, Santana nor Earth Wind and Fire have ever failed. Only note is on the venue, the lawn is pretty dead and there were pieces of broken glass/plastic all over that hadn't been cleaned up from previous shows. Also it would be great if they instituted a policy where if a patron wanted to sit in a lawn chair, they should have to sit past a certain point further back on the hill since they're taller and they block the view of people sitting on blankets.
Neither Santana nor Earth Wind and Fire disappointed! I will prepay for parking next time because it was a hot mess
Both Earth, Wind and Fire and Santana were fantastic. The sound system was great so you could hear fine in the lawn seats. The monitors allowed the people in the lawn seat to see the stage and performers well. The only downfall, was the nightmare in parking. The lines, even early, were bumper to bumper and they charge $40 to park. That is outrageous. You also can't bring your own lawn chairs and have to rent them if you want to sit on a chair.
So much fun from beginning to end. Earth, Wind and Fire got the party started. Santana kept it going. Attended with my sisiters and girlfriend. We had a blast. I did not sit all night.
The concert was fabulous! The venue was excellent. Great place to see a show. The parking was terrible. We paid for VIP parking in advance and it took almost an hour to finally park. There were little to no directions posted. The staff was excellent in helping, but again the directions were terrible. It turned out the VIP parking was adjacent to the regular parking. They could have opened a barrier and had it attended versus sending everyone around the block to find the VIP parking.
1. The open air ampitheater was fantastic for this COVID-weary world. 2. The sound system needs work. Santana was too loud and the bass beat reverberated throughout the seats so it was impossible to get a release. Plus, all the songs were the same beat; there was hardly any variation in the music/songs chosen.
This was an amazing show with EWF, if you are on the fence about seeing this show. Just DO IT, you will not be sorry.
it was a beautiful day and night weather was perfect, Santana was great he was outstanding, earth wind and fire also did really good. had a awesome night , just wish parking and food prices can be a little less pricey that hurts a good time when everything is so expensive.
My first time at the center and was totally taken back with the back drop of the area! the sound was awesome. the vision, I could go on but yes you have a great venue and I will return! And Earth Wind and Fire were great! But I must say Santana was all that and then some more !!
I am an EWF fan from the early 70's as a child. I've seen them perform at the Borgota in AC years ago for the 1st time so going to see them at the Freedom Mortgage Pavillion in NJ was a must. Carlos Santana just put the icing on the cake. Two great bands, live music I was in heaven! I was on my feet for the majority of the shows performances, all I can say is they still got it, a lot of these young artist can take some lessons on the art of performing.
Opening act Earth Wind and Fire was great. Then Santana was so awesome. Everyone within his band are great and his wife was unbelievable. I’ve been to many concerts and by far this was the best ever.
Earth Wind & Fire and Santana - what an amazing concert with two talented groups. Such a broad range of people in the audience. Both bands still kickin’ it after all these years. EWF - R&B soul had the audience on their feet. Still hitting those highs! Santana - what can you say? From his guitar, to the percussion, to the singing…. Could go on and on. Just an inspirational and enjoyable night!
It was Carlos Santana, literally nothing more needs to be said
What an incredible experience. Seeing either of these acts as a headliner would be a great show. To see them both on the same night was amazing. Earth, Wind and Fire came on first brought the energy. The band was tight, the vocals strong and it was a fun, fun set. And then there was Santana. The man is a living legend and has only gotten better over the years. He played a great set of classics and modern and the vocalists were outstanding. Definitely a night to remember!
I really enjoyed the concert. Great time. Great music
