San Holo in Concert
His tracks blend sentimentality and confidence, levity and seduction, with an elegance that few DJs match. Born in the Netherlands in 1990, crackshot DJ and producer San Holo (Sander van Dijck) studied music production and guitar at Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam, going on to teach guitar. In 2012 he released his first EP as a DJ, ‘Corellia,' which started to turn heads and gain him acclaim; two years later, he signed to Heroid Recordings and released his ‘Cosmos' EP, landing on iTunes' Top 100 Electronic page. San Holo really blew up later that year, when he released a smokin', club-ready remix of Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode," which has scored a cool 175 million views on YouTube. In 2016, his single, the intoxicatingly gripping "Light," which he released on his own label (bitbird), debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. His romantic, groovy "I Still See Your Face" reached No. 31 on the Billboard Netherlands chart.
Like any great DJ, San Holo has made as much a name for himself from his lightning-hot collaborations and remixes as he has from his own formidable compositions. His indie-flavored R&B joint with James Vincent McMorrow, "The Future," exudes sexiness throughout its expansive textures. Other great collaborations have been his numerous tracks with The Nicholas ("They Just Haven't Seen It," "Hiding") and "Lift Me From the Ground," which features Sofie Winterson and reached No. 42 on the U.S. Dance chart. Of course, San Holo's remixes are always a satisfying main course within his catalog—other standouts are his renditions of Eminem's "Lose Yourself" and Nelly's "Ride Wit Me." As expected, San Holo is very active in the live DJ scene, and his shows capture all of the wonder and heart-palpitating enchantment that his music evokes.
Great set, perfect night! Couldn’t have had it any other way
San Holo put on such a beautiful performance. Definitely worth seeing!
So fantastic. The whole crowd was enthralled by a fantastic set. 11/10
Everything from the audio/visuals to the artists, the vibe was amazing! Would definitely attend another San Holo show.
Venue: 2/5 Show & Production: 5/5 VIP Experience: 2/5 This was mine and my husband’s 4th time seeing San Holo and it was his best show yet!!! This venue was HUGE and had outdoor seating and a fire pit if you wanted to get some fresh air. The water bottles were given to you with no lid which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. How are we supposed to dance or have anything in our hands when we have to carry an open water bottle the whole time?! Also, security was RIDICULOUSLY strict. They were having people throw away open gum packets, chapstick, lip gloss and unopened Vick’s sticks. I get you’re trying to keep people safe but geez. We did VIP and it was amazing but it was definitely cut short which was super upsetting and we could barely hear San Holo talk! Other than that the experience was great! Thank you for making my husband’s birthday so special. Can’t wait to see San Holo again!
Everything went so well! Security lines were quick! Lots of staff members to help if needed! Thanks for the great experience! Keep up the good work team!
I loved this concert and what San Holo put on. I would absolutely love to see him perform in a smaller venue like the Fonda because his presence felt very intimate and sadly the stadium wasn't as full as it could've been. Would definitely see again.
An amazing show! You’ve got to experience all the live edits and new elements. The production of the whole show was incredible. Loved it!
I had already felt like it was going to be a good show but he blew me out of the water!! So impressed with his musical talents he truly put on one of the BEST shows I have seen!!
I didn't think I'd be that close to the stage!! BUT MY GOODNESS!! VERY MUCH WORTH IT!
Absolutely amazing would see him again. Love the whole presentation
Pure bliss when listen To the beat. Deep and soulful listen to the lyrics. Such beautiful choreography coming with the music. You can tell he worked he’d in the fluidity of the show
Came to the VT Ballroom for a performance. Spent way too much money to see some bozo behind a turntable and cheap screen.
The tickets are misleading it says the show was from 9:30 to 12:00....so WHY did he not come in stage u til 12:30? I also people were being let into the show without purchasing a ticket so why did I spend $100 for 5 tickets when I could have showed up to venue at 10:30 and gotten in for free and STILL not missed the show. I understand there were openers but my party was ready to leave before San Holo even got on stage! HOWEVER the DJs were all fantastic and of course San Holo exceeded my expectations...Just wish that when the tickets are bought it should stay on schedule not have main event after show was scheduled to end
San Holo was excellent and well worth it… However the venue scheduled 2 openers without really advertising it anywhere. Sucked you into overpriced drinks etc. would have been totally fine with just 1 opener and luckily they were both good choices, but felt a bit manipulated.
Breathe in, leave it all behind~ I just wanna see the lights ☆
The place was too packed no place to move. Too many support acts up front. 3 hrs of support act??!
This review is not about the artist, but about the venue. Big night live is way too loud, if your sound quality is good it shouldn’t need to be deafening. He also didn’t go on until 12:30 am which is too late for many people to enjoy a full set. I think the venue could improve these things and I would change my review to 5 stars.
The set was amazing, DJ was awesome, good venue overall - line was super long to get in but I appreciate the thorough security. I do wish the headliner could start earlier than 1am. It was better when they started at 12 and has a closer at 1.
The event showed it started at 10 and understood a dj playing for a while first but after 3 hours and 3 different dj’s we didnt get to see what we paid and hoped for. I’m assuming San Holo played sometime after 1:00 am but that should have been shared in ticket info or somewhere before tickets were purchased.
