A great show as always. Abba songs are always fun and most of us can relate and love them. The surprise encore was just great and happy they included it...it had to be done! I always enjoy every single show and have been to many. Keep up the great work SDGMC!!
SDGMC was wonderful! Great time, beautiful voices, and fun choreography. We will definitely be attending future shows.
We thoroughly enjoyed the ABBA concert. The songs selected were perfect. The group is so very talented. While we enjoy the dancers, the show seems that it would be equally entertaining without. Thank you to everyone involved in making these concerts available.
The performance of ABBA songs by the SDGMC was thoroughly entertaining. Not only was the choir singing excellent, the individual performers were outstanding; maybe even better than ABBA themselves. What distinguished the performance was the choreography that went along with the singing. The combination made it an exceptional entertainment.
I was holding back tears when they sang both Mama Mia and Dancing Queen! I'm so looking forward to the Chorus doing a George Michael, David Bowie, Prince, or Madonna themed event in the future!
As usual, performance was outstanding. I took a friend for her first-time experience with SDGMC.. My only complaint/criticism: The charming MC was 'way too loquatious! I kept wanting to shout: "Please shut up and let the men sing!"! Still, the SDGMC is my all-time favorite ebtertainment. I always try to take a friend who has never heard them before - everyone is enthralled. Thanks for being part of San Diego's charm! jeannine b. whitworth
The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus is on a roll. "Movie Night" was another great concert - professionally executed, excellent variety in the music selection, high-energy, some fun choreography, and very enjoyable. Some of the voices (solos) were just amazing. Outstanding close to the concert with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." They're on a level where I feel I get my money's worth! The only negative: I could do with the audience cat-calling out to friends in the choir or other inane shout-outs. Sorry, but it's immature and distracting. I come to enjoy and soak up the choir, not some audience members who try to make it about them. The director addressed this at the start of the concert, seemingly calling for the audience not to do that, and then seeming to endorse it. Confusing and it just seemed to exacerbate it. I'll stick with them; maybe the next audience will be better.
The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus has done it again. The presentation of "Movie Night" exceeded all expectations. Truly an emotional rollercoaster ride. Thank you for bring back so many childhood memories. I cannot wait until the next show.
These guys never disappoint! Whether it is the song selection, chorus as a whole, skits/dancers or the individual solos... they are always awesome! Thank you SDGMC for another thoroughly enjoyable show! Can't wait for the next one already!
I've never been to a concert before with FOUR standing ovations. All well deserved in a show that just kept getting better and better. My friend, a woman in her 70s, said she never wanted the show to end.
Talented men that knock your socks off! They put on the best show ever on Sunday afternoon. Best of all is their inspirational message that all people deserved to be treated with dignity. Even Kermit got into the act!
We have attended a number of concerts buy the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus. They all have been great. This one was no exception. The concerts are fun and the production values are first class. (And in case you are "worried" about going to a "Gay" event, we are a straight married couple in our 60s and love the SDGMC concerts!)
This was our first experience with the SDGMC. It will not be our last. We are bummed we cannot be here for ABBA but are already looking forward the the Christmas program. Mr Hous taught one of our grand daughter's in Elementary school choir. She loved him and we were so impressed. It is wonderful to see him in this element too. He was fabulous in bringing the entire show together smoothly and with great humor and love. These singers are wonderful. We loved every minute. You should run not walk to order tickets for ABBA in late July. I know it will be equally fabulous. The feeling in the theater was just wonderful. Loved every minute. THANK YOU SDGMC.
I loved the show so much that my partner and I made the 8 hours plus drive to see the show!!! Was great to reminisce about the great movie tunes of the past and some recent. I cried, laughed, and had a great time!!!.
Terrific, fun concert! But the parking voucher through ticketmaster didn't work.
The San Diego gay men’s chorus blew the roof off of the Balboa theater with their holiday show jingle. It was everything we expected and so much more! We cannot wait to see what they come up with for the holiday season next year. The show is not to be missed!
Always fun and well done. You WILL laugh, cry and simply enjoy the songs of the season done to perfection by this amazing choral group. Make it a Holiday Tradition.
This show put everyone into the Holiday spirit. This should be a "must see" every year. Thank you SDMC for a great time.
The SD Gay Men's Chorus Concert was professional and entertaining with great variety, nearly 200 powerful voices, precision choreography, touching pieces and fun ones, and top-notch quality. It's a rare show when I can say it was worth every penny, but this one qualifies. We should be proud to have such an outstanding group representing our city and doing superb outreach. They have raised the bar, and I look forward to their next concert.
