  • Amazing singer

by Skid Row Pete on 10/25/23Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Samara Joy is a once-in-a-lifetime talent. Not only does she have fabulous voice, but she has the feel, the phrasing, and the sound of someone who has been singing for 50 years or more- all this in a 23-year-old body. Absolutely amazing- her band is very talented, but I was a bit disappointed with the sound man- he mixed the horn section very low, and was late in bringing up the volume during solos, then he dropped the volume so that the horns were almost inaudible during most of the songs- otherwise a very inspiring evening of music

  • A wonder to behold

I discovered Samara Joy at the Newport Jazz Festival and as soon as my friend sent me the post to see her I said I'm in. She simply inspires me and I am in awe of her talent..Her voice is an instrument and her range is incredible. She will be a great in history I am sure. Would have liked it to be a bit longer Hope she is playing this summer in Newport!!! Thank you for bringing her to Long Island although I love going into the city whenever I can

Samara Joy is the most amazing singer today. Her ability to interact with the audience in conversation while mesmerizing them in song is unsurpassed. She is going to be one of the greatest signers of all time, and she's just 23! Can't wait until the next concert...I'll be there!

So, memorable for my first time to see Samara Joy to preform. What a sound and what a pleasure.

Samara Joy never fails to amaze, and with such a top notch band, the evening was terrific!

  • Wow.

by Agie C on 10/25/23Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I saw a TikTok with one of Samara Joy's songs playing and it said "So you're telling me that the person currently singing is NOT a Black woman from the 30s in a smoke-filled speakeasy in the middle of Alabama working part time and dodging the Klan...but is instead a 23 year old member of Gen Z?"AND I FELT THAT IN MY SOUL. She is a once in a lifetime talent. An absolute body double of Ella Fitzgerald but low key with an even healthier tone? She's absolutely incredible. She also has incredible musicians working with her - just mega talented. She also did a meet and greet after and I can't wait to see her continue to shine. But an ageless talent. FANTASTIC.

  • Superb Artist!!!!!

For Samara Joy to have such a dynamic voice and stage presence as a young person, we were blown away! The sultry quality of her voice and her range is phenomenal. Sarah Vaughan would be so proud. We had such a time! My family and other audience members and myself absolutely loved the show!!

  • Samara Joy @Keystone Korner

    by A. G. on 6/12/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Samara Joy was absolutely amazing. Her voice just touched my heart with every note. I feel so blessed to see this enormous talent perform. What a treat! Not only is she a phenomenal vocalist, she has a beautiful soul. I was fortunate enough to talk to her briefly, and she just made my day. Seeing her perform in a small, intimate venue like Keystone Korner was THE best. I'm a fan FOREVAH!

  • Can’t Wait to see Her Again!

    by Frank X on 6/8/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I had the distinct pleasure of attending my second Samara Joy concert on June 9 at McCarter Theater in Princeton NJ. Samara was outstanding and in addition to the wonderful song selection and excellent accompaniment, she was most engaging with the audience. It was a wonderful concert and evening. I am looking forward to her return to the area. I will be the first in line for tickets.

  • What a Joyous night with Samara

    by N. W. on 6/4/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Last night at the Levitt pavilion in Westport CT, I witness the next rising star in Jazz. Her range was ridiculous, her personally sublime. I would definitely go and see her again as her career starts to grow. A must see concert in the music industry.

  • The experience was amazing!

    by Gina on 1/24/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Her vocal style was the essence of the jazz style of the Harlem Renaissance. The Venue size gave an intimate feeling where everyone could connect with the music.

  • Fabulous show ....

She is going to be a Jazz Icon. Outrageously talented.

  • Wonderful experience!!

by April Queen on 1/21/23Kupferberg Center for the Arts - QueensRating: 5 out of 5

Samora Joy was fantastic. She did a few standards but put her own spin on them. The audience was mesmerized and a gave a standing ovation.

  • Heart warming

by Tricia on 1/18/23Kupferberg Center for the Arts - QueensRating: 5 out of 5

Loved Samara Joy, her small orchestra of three, and all of the inspiring speakers for the celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. Excellent event!

  • She was absolutely stunning

by Ash on 1/18/23Kupferberg Center for the Arts - QueensRating: 5 out of 5

I am happy we got the opportunity to see Samara before the tickets goes up to $200+. She is so talented, I took my 15 yr old daughter who is a vocal major to the concert. My daughter was crying the whole performance, her voice and back up band was fantastic.

  • Once in a Lifetime

by Oscar on 12/25/22Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Some may have wanted more jazz standards from Ms. Joy, but this was billed as a holiday event. Her voice has power, control, and depth, whether singing jazz, Christmas tunes, or gospel. What I will remember was that she brought her family along, 4 of whom joined her on stage. This was more like being in their living room for the holidays than a concert. We will do the jazz set January through November. This evening will not likely happen again.

  • Expected Standards Rather than Xmas Card

    by EcoBill52 on 12/25/22Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 3 out of 5

We spent a lot of cash for four overpriced scalped tickets through Ticketmaster to hear this wonderful singer for the first time. She is a gifted singer who deserves all the praise she gets, but this evening the selections were so dominated by Christmas tunes and her skilled and loving back up singers - family members - overstayed her stage. One Holiday music set with her family would have been perfect, capped off with a full set of standards. Instead, we heard a few standards and the rest of the fairly short concert was a singalong jazz music track. We loved her joyful sound and big heart but was disappointed with the misleading billing and brevity.
