Good musicianship, but if you are expecting blues and the “old” Samantha you’ll likely be disappointed. Loud and fast rock, with a little bit of blues chord progressions here and there, (and a mediocre acoustic set mid concert) but not the blues. She wants to be a rock star and I guess that’s ok for some. (Just look at the photo). It was not our cup of tea and we left a bit early when it became evident that it was not going to change. Also a bit too much of Samantha coaxing the audience to cheer during Jesse solos, and vice versa. Good solos do not need audience coaxing. Overall a disappointment for us blues lovers.
She is an incredibly talented vocalist and guitar player. But really knows how to put on a great show and get the audience engaged. just so well done. unfortunately, the opening act was awful
She is a great profomer, singer and guitarist. Great energy and enthusiasm.
I have been to many Samantha Fish shows. This is great collaboration.
Venue: Always a good venue but very packed in front. Would be better with a few less tables. Sam/Jesse: Outstanding as usual, third time seeing them over last 12 months and they never fail to disappoint!!
Always a pleasure to experience a concert at the intimate Wilbur theatre and the energetic powerhouse Samantha Fish unleashed her full talents on stage with a blistering barrage of rock, blues and country music to the enthralled audience from her latest LP Death Wish. She did not disappoint her fans and had them on their feet throughout the 100 minute set.
Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton were fantastic. The opening act (Sargent Splendor) was a pleasant suprise. All around excellent all electric blues artists.
Samantha always brings her best, had a great time! Already bought tickets to the next show.
The Egg (Albany NY) is a cool place with what I have been told has some great acoustic possibilities. Lots of fan Sunday were super happy with the show but a little down about the sound mixing. Samatha is one hard working gal. She never let up for a minute. She wanted everyone present to have a great time. Her band was super tight. Jesse Dayton is a great performer and has that Texas drawl that has blues singer written all over it. They played well off of each other's talents. The opening band Sgt. Splender was a great choice to warm up the audience. This couple had energy to burn, and they truly were happy to be part of the evening. Kate Vargus has a fantastic voice and Mcfadden can make that guitar sing the blues. Looking forward to seeing them rise up in the charts and benefit from their hard work and sacrifices to entertain us. Cheers to Samatha Fish
Right from the start, as soon as they dimmed the lights, Jesse Dayton and Samantha Fish started to burn down the house. They were great in tandem, taking turns blistering their guitars. They played almost the whole new album "Death Wish Blues, as well as several covers. They each did one of their own, with Samantha breaking out the cigar box guitar to a hellacious rendition of Bulletproof. They were both kind enough to come out afterwards to sign CDs and such and talk to their fans. Very gracious! Second time I've seen her, and I would travel far to see her in concert again. What a dynamic electrifying force she is.
The sound mixing was terrible - too loud and distorted. So bad that we left midway thru the concert.
First of all I didn't realize I was buying a sellers ticket, why on earth would I pay $7 more when they're were plenty available. We got there an hour early for the patio, only maybe 10_12 folks in front of us. When the doors opened we were lucy to find a stool towards the back, only because we didn't want to stand at least 4 hrs. Setting on our stool, the view was not good, you had to struggle to see the performers. Samantha was good, I've seen her 14 times, but didn't really care for her and Jesse together. So overall, out of a hundred shows that have seen over the years, unfortunately this wasn't one of my favorites. I love the Pagent, but won't be going back to Dellmar Hall.
Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton put on one heck of a performance. The whole show was outstanding from the start of the opening act (Sgt. Splendor) to the encore of Samantha and Jesse. This is one show that I would gladly see again. This was the first, and definitely not the last, time to see this act. Excellent stage presentation and a great sound.
Samantha Fish was fantastic but I'll probably not ever go back to the Delmar hall. Too crowded and uncomfortable.
Samantha and Jesse were outstanding! She has a beautiful soulful voice paired with Jesse is amazing. She can shred the guitar! The energy was unbelievable, they had the crowd in the palm of their hands! Chemistry was excellent I was absolutely blown away! Venue was intimate which was very nice. Soon they will be on a big stage and I’ll miss being close. The crowd definitely loved this show, we stood and cheered for an encore and they came back. They tore the roof off that place!
Great show by my favorite performer. She was awesome, I wish I could say the same thing about the venue. I'm in my 70's and was lucky enough to get a seat which is very limited.
Had tickets a couple of years ago when she was on tour with Kenny Wayne Shepherd but when the time came, she didn’t make it. Hoping she will make it back around someday soon. The Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, NJ
This was the last stop of the Death Wish Tour, and had two opening acts before Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton came out. The first opening act was Eric Johanson and he was great! The second act was a punk rocker and he was awful, totally out of place, and people were complaining about him. Then Samantha and Jesse came out, and they did a great show! Samantha played some of her solo stuff, but mostly they played from the Death Wish album. So the night started out good, went bad in the middle, and ended well.
This is year two seeing Samantha in Virginia Beach. The opening act was better than the second act and last year's show was way better than this year's show. Last year Samantha was front and center leader the band and took the crowd on a musical journey no one will ever forget! This year she shared the stage with a guitar player that is not as good as she and the show seemed somewhat disjointed as a result. Let him have a solo, a duet and then step back and back her up and let her do her thing. She is the one people are coming to see!!!! If you want to see what i mean watch Live at the Tampa Bay Bluesfest on UTUBE (2022). That's what i am talking about!!!!
