Russell Peters on Tour
The rare North American stand-up comedian who can sell out arenas from L.A. to London to Sydney, Russell Peters returns to the stage with his latest roving revue, dubbed The Deported tour.
The current show features Peters' first set of all-new material since taking a break from stand-up after filming his 2016 Netflix special, Almost Famous (though he was hardly idle during that stretch — on top of starring in a handful of films, Peters also launched his own prime-time series, The Indian Detective, which came to Netflix in 2018).
Despite ascending to rock-star status in the comedy world — complete with dramatic, dry ice–assisted entrances — Peters' routine is still rooted in relatable, everyday anecdotes, as he regularly reenacts amusing family conversations that give his jokes a broad, cross-cultural appeal.
Russell Peters Background
Raised in the suburbs of Toronto by Anglo-Indian parents, Russell Peters is a true 21st-century comedian, with a massive international following that reflects the connectivity of our world in the online age. And he actually owes his big break to the Internet.
After paying his dues on the Canadian stand-up circuit for 15 years, Peters became one of the first comedians to go viral — in 2004, clips of his Comedy Now special began circulating on the then-nascent YouTube platform, with his astute observations on racial stereotypes earning him fans across the cultural spectrum.
Since then, Peters has sidestepped the traditional Hollywood star-making machinery to cultivate audiences in places most North American comedians never venture — countries like Lebanon, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Despite never starring in a massive film or TV series like Jerry Seinfeld or Chris Rock (who once quipped that Peters is "the most famous person nobody's heard of"), he orbits the same stratosphere when it comes to selling tickets. In 2013, Forbes magazine ranked him the third-richest comedian in the world with annual earnings of more than $20 million. However, in recent years, Peters has made significant inroads to becoming a household name in America, thanks to his well-received 2016 Netflix special, Almost Famous.

Russell was so honed in to the audience that his crowd work was phenomenal. The material was absolutely great, too. I've seen a lot of big comedian shows in person and I have to say this is the best one I've seen hands down. Come back soon!!
Russell Peters was incredibly hilarious. We were hoping he would perform longer as the show started around 8:15 with about a 15-20 minute headliner and then Russell took the stage around 8:30/8:40 until around 9:45.
The opening act was Vikram Balaji and I thought he tanked. Some in the audience who never interacted with brown people thought he was ok. Russell was good at moments and did a great job starting / transitioning into his set . It was seamless! Going from audience fun into his routine. There were moments of hilarity and there were definitely a few lulls. Russell is a legend and been in the game for over two decades, I was expecting more; non stop laughter and new bits that I couldn't just watch on YouTube.
Russell always puts on a great show. Glad I had the opportunity to see him live.
One of the best shows ever. Wish it was little longer though. It was just 1 hours and 15 minutes!
We saw Russell peters last time 10 years ago, when it was still appropriate to make fun of cultural stereotypes. I was curious as to what he’ll do now! He’s still completely inappropriate, and in the most hilarious way. We laughed our rears off, as did everyone else in the audience. A+
Russell Peters did what he does best... Cracked me! Vik was pretty good for start off and Russell was superb from the first minute. Loved the show and hope to see tons more from him
Loved the show, Russell Peters was as funny as ever.
Saw him at Thunder Valley and he was GENIUS! Not too many comedians can improvise such as Russell- he stands along with Robin Williams, Jonathan Winters, Dave Chappelle. We were lucky to meet him after the show- I can tell he's down to earth plus he married a pinay. I'm a huge fan 4ever! (por eber Naku!)
Paid $110 per ticket to see him at Atlanta City Winery. His performance was no longer than 45 minutes. Most of it was interaction with audience. Some funny stuff, some not too funny. I really enjoyed Russell Peters on YouTube and Netflix. This live 45 minutes performance wasn’t worth $110 per ticket ( and this wasn’t the most expensive ticket). I will continue watch him on TV, but would not spend my time and money on live shows.
So he was funny and like any proper comedian hit things that where controversial. At time was less funny on the topic and more trying to make a point! Had great jokes too and overall good! If looking for high end comedy, skip... if looking for a night out and some uncomfortable moments, go for it!
We loved every second of it! We go to a lot of comedy shows and Russell is amazing. I really enjoyed his improv with the audience also. Yes, most comedians do this a little bit throughout their shows but Russell was a master! Insanely funny and sharp.
Laughed the entire show. By the end of the night, I was in tears, my stomach was hurting, and my throat was hoarse. Planning on seeing him again when he comes back.
Great show. Russell Peters is such an amazing comedian. Very funny and interacts with the audience. We were laughing the entire time.
Had an amazing experience at the event. The venue was great. Loved the setup and atmosphere. We had the balcony sit, I just wished the sit was moveable or closer to the table stand because still I'm a bit short, I couldn't just sit back on the chair all the way to enjoy the show. I had to keep lending forward so I can watch it looking down a bit. it would also be nice if the sits went up and down. So short people like 5ft and shorter can watch. Overall Russell Peters so was good.
I laughed non stop. I had tears of laughter flowing. The 2 opening comedians were very funny too. All had original material. Peter did almost all his show by ad libbing. Show opened right on time and lasted 2 hours. Staff very professional and courteous. Buyer Beware: for the uninformed…..please do not take young adults / teens to this show. Too much use of the F word and some vulgarity too. Also: if u don’t like being picked on , don’t sit up front!
We were so excited to see Russell and have been following him for years! We got the tickets up front in the pit seating. Russell killed it! We loved seeing him! Sadly a VERY drunk and obnoxious guy was right next to me and kept elbowing me and breathing all over me! He would not stop talking loudly to Russell and taunting the kid in front of us by saying his name constantly. I finally begged him to stop. I was SHOCKED and upset the venue wasn't all over this. As everyone around was disturbed by him. Not sure how this should be handled but he definitely took away from being able to concentrate on the show. Would love to see Russell again if he comes back and have a renewed experience.
Russel Peters show is always great. Second time seeing him in Charlotte NC. Love his comedy style I did not stop laughing.
Great entertainer and so spontaneous. Will make sure I watch all future shows
