About

2014 marks thirty years since drummer and lyricist Neil Peart joined Rush and together with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson set forward a course that would change the very concept of how musical and complicated rock can be. These progressive rock revolutionaries blazed a trail that would eventually lead to their induction in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. Over that long 25-million-record-selling journey, there would be two generations of ticket holders whose minds and faces were melted in concerts shows that are otherworldly exhibitions of musicianship. Whether tearing through international hits like "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight," or playing the long album tracks beloved by their fans, rock's "holy trinity" never stopped reaching for new heights.

Still, even the most die hard of Rush fanatics were not be prepared for the burst of inspiration, thoughtfulness and musicianship that lead 2012's Clockwork Angels, the Canadian legends' 19th full length studio release, and arguably the best of the lot. Not only had they kept their clockwork precision, but also they had added a new passion and vision to their musicality. Whether in the studio or on tour, Rush has shown that when you come to define progressiveness in modern rock, your journey is never truly finished.

    Band was great, audio sucked

by Anonymous on 5/7/10Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester

First things first: Rush is AWESOME and did an AWESOME job, and of course the Rotisserie chicken rotating behind them the entire show was a classic! They played all the favorites, and they had a little model of the drum set spinning (although that was hard to see from our seats). They problem though was the balancing and the acoustics in the stadium! We attended the concert at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH, and they apparently forgot to do a sound check? The bass was so out of whack for the first half that everything was distorted, and we couldn't understand a single thing they said or sang. They fixed it during intermission, but the stadium is very echoy, so even though it was much better and unnoticeable while they when they were playing, it was still difficult to understand when they spoke. We definitely want to see Rush again, just not at this venue...

    Before Wokring Man

by Igoonly on 5/2/10Radio Station - Cleveland, Atlanta, Dothan, Dallas and Las Vegas

My cousing asked me if I wanted to check out a brand new band. Sure. He didn't even had his drivers lices yet but we jumped in his Duster and went to, I think it was, Cleveland and saw a new band from Canada play a couple songs I'd never heard before. I was hooked with Working Man. Can't say I am as familiar with 80's and 90's Rush. I liked the raw Rush from the first album through 2112. I don't know how many times I've seen these guys but it's been 36 years since the first time and I saw them a couple more times in the 70's. The MGM Grand in Las Vegas is a fantastic place to see live acts and being the tickets went on sale just today, I have fabulous seats....again. Do you think I'll be the oldest guy there? 51!

For all RUSH fans- Enough said!

by MerelyPlayer on 5/1/10Cynthia Woods Pavillion - Houston

I'm a 42 Mexican RUSH fan. I live in MTY Mex. which for geographical reference is about 2 hour drive from the border with Texas. Since the guys return to the live show circuit- in 2002 on the Vapor Trails tour, I have travel every single tour to the Woodlands Pavillion in Houston to see them for the past 8 years, that's 3 tours ( and Time machine will be my 4th) and at a travel budget close to 800 USD every time, I have to agreed with everybody else, RUSH is a band that do not dissapoint EVER! Of course, with a massive discography on their backs, you might want to get sad if they don't play "Farewell to Kings" or "Closer to the heart" , but hey!, they are STILL playing and in which form I might add! I hope my concerns are just silly, but it wouldn't surprise me this tour could be their last, now why don't announce it like that? Becuase Geddy, Alex and Neil principles have always been pure and truthful... there have been so many artists playing "farewell tours" that I can not simply imagine these guys playing that card. I hope I am mistaken. This is the tour any NEW or OLD Rush fan CAN'T MISS. - "One likes to believe in the Freedom of Music".

First saw RUSH!!!!! at Tomorrow Club in Youngstown

by MedRush on 4/30/10Tomorrow Club - Pittsburgh Civic Arena - Ice Palace - Ford Amphtheater in Tampa - From Youngstown Ohio to Tampa Florida!

Our first date was at the Tomorrow Club in Youngstown, Ohio back in 1976. I had seen the band twice before and knew this would be the best way to impress someone. Now some 34 years later we are still together and still get FREAKED OUT to go see RUSH LIVE! Our kids love Rush too, and they have been coming to concerts with us for years. It's always an amazing show. The freakishly talented Alex, unstoppable always impressive Neil, and that supreme being known as Geddy! A true iconic wizard of musicianship. The power trio out of Toronto continues to rock! Now leading a somewhat mild mannered life in Seminole Florida, we have an entire room dedicated to Rush. It's the best room in the house. Rush has always been our favorite band, and will remain as such until the day we die. Look for us at the Ford Amphitheater in Tampa on October 1st. We will be the ones levitating out of our seats somewhere over section 6. Great seats indeed. RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cant wait to see

    by rushfan2010 on 4/30/10Cruzan - WP Beach

Never seen em live, but I'm sure it will be amazing. Goin to see on October 2 in West Palm Beach. To answer the question, I think Geddy uses the washer/dryer thing mainly to fill up his part of the stage. He doesnt use bass amps to produce the sound, so they're there I guess as a filler. Pretty creative I think lol

    Untouchable

by SEANRUSHXANADU on 4/30/10Verizon Ampitheatre - Alpharetta

Rush clearly is the tightest band EVER and will never be beat. No other band can come close to the energy they throw out there in everything Rush does or touches. I have seen them since the 2112 tour and have not missed a beat since. I can't say that everyone likes them; but they SHOULD! I for one am a musician and practice playing Alex's riffs' all the time to keep in shape. I named my first born son after Alex Lifeson! Alex's guitar playing is amazing! Neil is for sure the professor of the percussion world. Geddy is a genius on the axe and keys. If you haven't ever seen them GO TO THIS TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You WILL become stuck in the camera eye looking and listening. Not one beat will be missed. Not one note will be fuzzy. You will be astounded by their clarity and amused by their sense of humor. They also really respect the legions of FANS worldwide and most likely in the far reaches of space as well. They have assumed CONTROL! Keep rockin' and having fun with Snow Dog!

    A Must See

by TheKidsWent on 4/27/10PNC Bank Arts Center, Nassau Coliseum, Madison Square Garden, others.... - New York, others

I've seen Rush on every tour since 1986. They are worth every penny of the ticket prices. If you are a casual fan, this tour is the one to go to as they will be playing the ENTIRE moving pictures album.

    by hawkyguy77 on 4/26/10idaho center - boise

I have yet to miss one tour since I was born. I'm only 20 and have seen them more times then I can even count. If I was dieing my last wish would b to meet the band. I live in idaho and have had to drive to all their concerts except for roll the bones, and snakes and arrows. I have a baby coming in june and really hope they come back to boise so I don't miss them. That's the only reason I didn't miss snakes and arrows is because they decided to extend the tour. Come back rush, boise misses you.

    What a Rush

by hikeutah on 4/24/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula Vista

Being a somewhat newer fan of Rush (2007) I'm bummed for all the lost years I could have been enjoying these guys and their awesome music! Snakes and Arrows in San Diego 2007 was amazing. After that concert I purchased all of the band's music. The only negative thing I can say about Rush is that they make all of my previous favorite bands seem pale in comparison.Going to the Time Machine Tour this year and know I wont be dissapointed due to the bands level of excellence they bring to live shows.NEVER a waste of time or money if you see Rush.

Why did I wait so long????

    by skigirl43 on 4/23/10Joe Louis - Detroit

I have been a RUSH fan since 1983 but saw my first show at the Joe in Detroit during The Snakes and Arrows Tour with my husband. It was amazing!! Such pure talent!! My kids age 12 and 9 are also huge RUSH fans. I have heard the band say that their music is not popular with the ladies. Here is one girl that would love to go if they would only schedule a show in the loyal RUSH state of Michigan. Why did you forget us guys?? PLEASE....reconsider!

    SERIOUSLY AWESOMELY COOLEST BAND EVER!

    by gr8chefmb on 4/22/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

These three guys are simply amazing to watch/listen to/enjoy! I believe they had the right idea when they formed nearly 40 years ago - split everything evenly and have only 3 members...LOL! They have been, currently are and will be an absolute joy as performers, whether they are together or working on side solo projects. The talent, musicianship and synergy Alex, Geddy and Neil share is truly awe-inspiring. [Am I using enough superlatives for ya'll? LOL!] Seriously, you have to go see them perform, as many times as you are able and for as long as they keep performing. After nearly 40 years, through good and bad times, it is a thrill to see that they still enjoy performing together rather than doing it for a paycheck. I am so looking forward to this show! I wish I were able to follow them from tour stop to tour stop - that's how great they are [even if the Rock & Roll Hall of Shame hasn't recognized this fact. Thank goodness the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame has, though. :-)] P.S. I would love to upload photos, but I can't find the USB connection to my brain. My camera was not working for the last show I saw.

    Rocking with Rush since 1975

by powrcord on 4/19/10Fremd High School - Palatine

Worked stage crew at Fremd high school April 19 1975. Rush was opening for Kiss. Rush played their first lp and a number of songs off their newly released 2nd lp. Talked to the band before the show during sound check. Geddy was wearing those big goofy granny glasses, Peart had a Genesis T Shirt on. Took some photos of the band in sound check and during their set. One of the loudest shows I ever saw. This was in a high school gym and long before there were laws on amplified decibels. I was deaf for a week. Seen the band a millions times since. Gonna go see em a couple times more.

Alex is very nice and funny

by MouseMallory on 4/19/10west palm beach - west palm beach

I enjoy seeing Rush as much as breathing. Songs not to miss live are Leave that Thing Alone, and La Villa. I especially enjoyed meeting the band. Alex is so very understanding when a lifelong fan tries to calmly figure out what to say. All those considering buying a ticket, be aware that Moving Pictures is the most complete hard rock album of all time. Some may say Zep 4 or the Wall or Ride the Lightning, but the 7 songs of Moving Pictures are the standard for musicianship. Alex's fav solo is Limelight. Although I love Witch Hunt and Vital Signs, I wonder, Barchetta may be the most complete song of all. Sawyer and YYZ are classics every young kid should hear, as they sound perfect even today. Camera Eye live will be the crowd fav as it is so rare. Have fun!
