About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • No walking through songs with this band.

by DLovesRush on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

I think sixth or seventh time seeing Rush and they never let down. Always play favorites and pull some great ones out of the archive. Love the films they show in the beginning. The retro/back-in-time was great (started with new tunes and went back to first album).

  • Waited 32 years to see Rush live

by stejo on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

I knew going into the concert that I had built this up to be my mecca of concerts...I had wanted to see them live since my middle school days in the early 80s. I was a bit worried that it wouldnt live up to my expectations, but it turned out to surpass it. Best concert I have ever been to. And what a huge setlist!!!!! Like paying a little over a buck for each song!!! Live!!!!!

  • How RUSH influenced my life

by faunneb on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was of course, amazing, but more than that it was the culmination of a lifetime of waiting to view such genius in person. RUSH is more than a band, they are a threesome of awesomeness, as any true RUSH fan will verify. This experience however, was more than a viewing of that 40 years plus of musical perfection...it was an opportunity to experience this concert with like-minded folks who were, for the most part, professionals in their respective fields. I spent the evening reminiscing with folks who have loved RUSH as long or longer than I have. We shared stories about our kids, shared concert memories based upon our shirts, and many old (20 years plus) conversations that instantly made us sole mates. Many people shared life altering experiences involving how this band's music forever and positively transformed their lives. For me, getting to know and truly understand the music of RUSH was also a transformative experience. In high school, I was exposed to this amazing music and I've never been the same. Today, I am a high school physics teacher who still appreciates the impact this ingenious, intricate music can have on an individual and society as a whole. The experience I was lucky enough to experience in Atlanta completely reinforced my younger appreciation and sincere love for this band. The level of musicality reached, as expected, the level of excellence one would demand from such a trio. I moved and girated to the point of ridiculousness. I apologized to the person next to me that, "I move a lot when I hear RUSH." At the end of the evening, she said, "Your energy lifted me up when I needed it the most." She even bought me wine, without asking! The person behind me even gave me his concert program....RUSH fans are the best. They immediately recognize those with common interests and passion. I am so very thankful for this opportunity and am only regretful that this may be my last opportunity to view and experience this life-defining band. In any case, I will have these incredible memories to sustain me for the rest of my life.

  • Quintisential Rush in Atlanta!

by espishere on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Been a devoted fan for 30 years. First saw them as a warmup act for Kansas at the Capitol Theater in Passaic NJ and they blew the doors off. Who was this guy with this high-pitched voice?! Well, go forward to May 26 2015 and that guy, Geddy Lee, sounds as fresh as ever. It is incredible that he has maintained his voice and is able to perform some of the band's most challenging vocal pieces. Neal and Alex were remarkable! It was a treat to see them smiling and enjoying the performance. Alex was on fire and Neal is just the 8th wonder of the world! Loved how they started with Clockwork Angels LP and went chronologically back in time to their very first LP. Brilliant! God Bless Rush!

  • Incredible show !!!!

Best RUSH concert I have been too. Hits from start to finish. Geddy, Alex, and Neil were spot on. I hope I get to see them again. If you are a RUSH fan, this is a must see concert.

  • Amazing!

by Anonymous on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

What a show. After 40 years of playing together, these guys are still at the top of theirgame. It was maybe the best concert I have ever experienced. Rush does everything right. This show was epic. It was the kind of show that all rock shows wish they could be. It was 3 hours of musical perfection and precision.

  • R40 @Atlanta - Another awesome soldout Rush show

by YYZYYZYYZ on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Rush celebrated 40+ years of progressive rock/metal music with an awesome, nearly 3 hour show. The set list went in reverse chronological order opening with 3 songs from their newest album (Clockwork Angels) and eventually going back to their first album. It was a real treat for the hard core fan since it included Jacob's Ladder, Xanadu, 4 parts of 2112, and samplings from both suites of Cygnus X-1 rather than many of their radio hits like the overplayed Limelight. The set props went back in time too, with Roadies dressed in red moving picture jumpsuits constantly rearranging the set to reflect what the set would have looked like during the tour of when the song they were playing came out. The last set change was a high school gym with one amp on a school chair on each side of the stage. Along with the changing sets, many vintage videos played throughout the show. New videos (mostly poking fun of themselves) introduced each set & the encore. During Roll the Bones, several celebrities performed the "rap" on a pre-recorded video. Despite their advancing age, their musicianship is still incredible. Geddy was on bass for most of the night - with keyboards only featured on a few songs. No electric drums for Neil but his 2 drum solos were fantastic as usual. Alex was still able to nail the complex guitar riffs but did have a glaring error on Xanadu. The show was in front of a sold-out audience of 14,000+, with those on the lawn braving the heavy downpour. Many devoted fans brought their kids (and in some cases grand kids!). If this ends up as their last major tour, they are certainly going out on top! Can't wait to see them again in Kansas City & Denver.

  • Rush even better than I remembered

by Yellow1jacket on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

These three are simply masters of their craft. This was my 5th time seeing Rush, they are even better than the last time I saw them during Counterparts tour

  • Rush was great!

  • Mind blowing experience.

by WeirdSin on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Always great. They had a warning about light show posted, LOL.

  • Rush R40 - Incredible!

by Coolflyer on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, what a show!! Despite a pre-show thunderstorm the experience was fantastic! Even with the great venue, the great visuals, the awesome laser show, and jolting pyrotechnics, the music was what stood out front and center... Those guys rocked and put on a hell of a show!! Geddy's voice is still incredible, their chops are better than ever, and the music was just stunning... I wish I could catch another show on this tour...

  • Rush R40

by UgLee on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

My 4th time seeing Rush. They never put on a bad show. They richly deserve their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

  • RUSH was awesome!

  • Wet but great!

by Catherine6 on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

It rained most of the afternoon before concert, but quite right before RUSH came on stage. Wonderful concert! Venue was very well run. Getting out after concert was great. No traffic jams

  • Rush on the money !

by ElBravodelapelicula on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Hadnt seen them in at last 20 years and Im glad I didnt miss what could be their last tour ..As ussual, the attention to detail and the prescision at which they play is second to none. I have always appreciated how much they respect their recorded versions and play their live versions as if they were still concerned about what their fans think !! 40 years and they still got it ! They started with 4-5 newer songs which were great, although I have to admit, I didnt know any of them !! as the night went on, they went back in time and played most all of the great classics they are known for..2112, Xanadu, Ton Sawer, Red Barchetta, Spirit of Radio, on and on.. bottom line, you cant go wrong going to see Rush, especially for those who can appraciate the level at which these guys play..these ae the modern days "Masters" of their respective instruments.. Incredible to experience live !!!

  • Rush – 40th Anniversary Tour Beyond Expectations!

by jerimie on 5/29/15Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Rush has been saying that this tour is going to be the last tour of this magnitude. If this is indeed is going to be the farewell tour of sorts then they definitely intended to go out with a bang! A Big Bang at that. If you’re truly a musician at heart, have a passion for creativity and willing to go outside the bounds of music. Then Rush is your band! That’s what the Progressive Rock Era has always been all about. Classic Rock has always been my bread and butter most of my 41 years of life but I love Progressive Rock even more. The members of Rush have talents and musical skills that no one else can do but them. It never ceases to amaze me see how Geddy Lee can sing, play the bass guitar, keyboards and pedals all at once. Alex Lifeson can make guitar melodic and harmonizing notes that complement Geddy’s bass playing. He can also make you think you’re hearing both rhythm and lead guitar at once. Then you have Neil Peart’s creative drumming with lots of twist, turns and percussion to back it all up with. Neil Peart also is the writer of most of Rush’s greatest hits ever made! For just a trio band they can make you think you’re listening to maybe a 4 or 5 piece band. They are in a class of their own! Thank you Rush for all your awesome talent and musicianship that brought me through my greatest accomplishments and help me through my greatest struggles in life. You are truly a musician’s band at heart always!!!
