About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

Excellent performance! You can't believe how well they play especially for being a three member band. I just have to say WOW! Incredible musicians!

  • R40 - A Fitting End to an Era?

by Ocram on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

The last night of Rush's amazing "R40" tour at the Fabulous Forum in L.A. was bittersweet for me. Bitter because members of the incredible power trio have suggested that this may have been their last large scale tour -- due to health issues (Alex Lifeson's arthritis) and family commitments (Neil Peart's young daughter). Sweet because it was one of the best Rush shows I've seen (and I've seen over ten of them over the years, including their well-deserved induction into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame in 2013). The band could've opted for a "greatest hits" type show, but instead rewarded their longtime fans with a setlist that came from every major era in their four decade history. Per usual, the visuals were great and the videos funny and entertaining. (They even brought out a Kiss cut out to poke fun at their longtime friends in that band for whom they opened so many years ago.) The show proceeded in reverse chronological order, and their musicianship on gems like Hemispheres and Cygnus X-1 was astounding. They ended with "Working Man" from their debut album, and threw in the riff from "Garden Road" (one of their first tunes that only hardcore fans would recognize). Whether Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Professor Peart tour again remains to be seen, but on this the last night of their 40th anniversary celebration, they cemented their place in musical history and certainly gave their fans a party we'll never forget. As their heroes once said, "Long Live Rock!". As we now say, "Long Live Rush"!!!

  • Best concert ever

by RickLeb on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to a lot of concerts in my time. Some have great extravagant productions, amazing sound and good performers. Rush is just about the music, these three guys are by far the best musicians in the industry. The show was just jaw dropping from beginning till the very end.

  • Rush and the Forum were great

by TimFromLA on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Both the band and the arena were perfect. I was temporarily disabled but the Forum accommodated me perfectly while the band performed well

  • Rush still rockin like the good old days!

by EdtheRushfan on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing in every sense of the word. Apart from the service being fantastic and the venue being great, the only down side to it all was that it had to end. The concert itself was one of the best concerts iv been to.

  • Amazing Amazing Amazing!

    by Athene2112 on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Words cannot express my gratitude to this band for 40+ years of quality music, lyrics and live shows. What goes into each and every album (and tour) is above and beyond and no matter what, you can always expect the best. I've been a fan since I was 12 years old, and I've grown up (and old) to their music. Thank you Rush! Hope to see you again sometime.

  • R40: Was Not to be Missed

by RushSB on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Great retrospective of a deep catalogue. Missed a couple that I would have liked to see, but then again, included some I did not expect to hear live. Lifeson was just about perfect. Lee's vocals demonstrate that he's still got a range of octaves left to go. Peart always amazes. Overall, couple of minor, minor hiccups less than a handful of times.

An epic night of music with an atmosphere unlike any other show I've attended. Perfection.

  • RUSH R40

by ADrugAgainstWar on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

RUSH's final tour (for now) was one of the best staged shows I've seen in decades. Giving fans a sample of everything that RUSH has been for the past 40 years. Starting with Clockwork Angels and working their way over the course of 3 hours to their debut album "RUSH". Staging morphing throughout the set from their elaborate amp rigs to 2 simple amps propped on chairs by the end. This was a epic poem to fans who have held true to this band for 40 years. Sound and Imagery were completely on point the entire night. Hitting you between the eyes with songs like "Distant Early Warning" and "Subdivisions". Moving moments when they performed a song they've never done live "Losing It" featuring Jonathan Dinklage on Violin. Kicking back into their second set with the blistering "Tom Sawyer" and "Spirit of Radio". Overall this was an incredible send off for a band who has been consistent with fans, and absolute road dogs for the course of their career.

  • Rush Rocked It - As Always!

by AstronautD on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

These guys never fail to put on one of the best rock shows of any group. Their stage presence, musicianship, theatrics, and their chemistry from being friends and musicians for over forty years just adds to the performance. Started at 745pm and ended a little after 11pm. Nor bad for three guys over 60. Neil Peart, "The Professor", never misses a beat. He's the heart of the group. Alex Lifeson with his amazing guitar skills, moving flawlessly from lead to rhythm and in and out of time signature changes and tempos is the soul of the band. Geddy, the master of bass (and keyboard/synth), is the breath of the band, belting out lyrics just like when he was in his twenties and jumping around on stage like a flea, juggling vocals, an instrument, and pedals. I sincerely hope that this IS NOT their last time touring!

  • Rush rocked the forum!

by Ezelivin on 8/4/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing time, flat out, Rush rocks. The Instruments and vocals were tight. They still got it. Enjoyed the playlist, more current hits to rapping up the show with the classics. Only disappointment was the show had to end, be a shame if it truly is the fair well tour!

  • Amazing

by Jostian on 8/3/15Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre (formerly Verizon Wireless Amph) - IrvineRating: 5 out of 5

I see Rush several times a tour. This was a great venue and another fabulous show!

  • by Verotoo on 8/3/15US Airways Center - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing and unique show, I've never seen a band do sketches. I really enjoyed it

  • by Anonymous on 8/2/15Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre (formerly Verizon Wireless Amph) - IrvineRating: 5 out of 5

I am still amazed at how awesome these guys are after 40 years. Sure Geddy can't hit the notes he used to, but he makes up for it in how he sings the songs. Just amazing.

  • Excellent R40! There may not be an R50.

by mdrod1 on 8/2/15Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre (formerly Verizon Wireless Amph) - IrvineRating: 5 out of 5

Rush has been one of my all time favorite bands since the 70's! R40 is the culmination of 40 fantastic years of Rush music. The show was fantastic in all it's musical and visual glory! The guys performed great and the sound quality was perfect. The concert was divided into two parts with an intermission in between. The first half featured the newer songs and they really rocked. The second featured the glorious songs from their golden age! They performed songs that they rarely do. "Natural Science" and "Cygnus X1" to name a few. It was a treat to see them back in their theatrical musical mode performing these great classic songs! unfortunately, Neil Peart only did one and a half drum solos this time as compared to three on the "Clockwork Angels" tour. That's okay, because the rare songs they played made up for it! The venue was not the best. Irvine Meadows is now under new management and I think they are trying to improve things. It was actually better than previous shows that they have hosted. But the crumbling facilities, miles long walks uphill from parking lot to seats and the nature of some of the fans at this particular facility will keep me from ever coming again! Aside from that, we had a great time and the show was moving and memorable! Catch Rush while you can, because who knows what the future holds for this phenomenal band! I highly recommend them!!!

  • RUSH in Vegas

by RoosterGene on 8/2/15MGM Grand Garden Arena - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show. RUSH is amazing and Groovy! If you "get" Rush, this is as good as the Hemispheres tour, Clockwork Angels, and Time Machine. Well done.
