RuPaul's Drag Race on Tour
Even beamed into people's living rooms through their TVs, RuPaul's Drag Race is one of the biggest and most fabulous shows on Earth — it was only a matter of time before its cavalcade of queens ended up in Las Vegas. Specifically, they took up residence at the Flamingo, in a room that for more than a decade hosted the Donny & Marie variety show. A far more colorful and extremely ambitious production, RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! involves big dance numbers, wild wardrobe changes, all-star catwalk crawls, vicious lip-sync battles and, well, a "bitch-slap" competition that calls for audience involvement. The mission is to make fans feel like they're in the middle of an interactive episode taping — a rotating cast of beloved queens previously seen on the show partakes in a series of challenges, performances and face-offs. The crowd determines a winner via the Clap-O-Meter, an outsize applause measurement device made to look like big lips and a giant tongue. The choreography comes from longtime Ru pal Jamal Sims (Step Up, the Oscars, live-action Aladdin) and is set to tunes previously heard on the series (think Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears) as well as new original music from RuPaul, producer Leland and Tom Campbell. Meanwhile, the vibrant and often delightfully absurd sets transport viewers to a veritable wonderland of neon sass.
RuPaul's Drag Race in Concert
RuPaul's Drag Race debuted on Logo TV in 2009 and became an instant hit. It didn't hurt that the show's host, mentor and head judge was already the most famous and beloved drag queen the world had ever known, but the series quickly demonstrated its power to captivate audiences of all backgrounds and launch incredibly colorful new stars. By the time it kicked off its 12th season in 2020, the reality competition series had been nominated for 23 Emmys and won nine, not to mention increased awareness and (rabid) appreciation of drag culture, as well as gifted unto the world such truly inspired queens as Trixie Mattel, Bianca Del Rio and Alaska Thunderf*ck 5000. In 2017, RuPaul's Drag Race leapt to VH1 and also off of the screen via the Werq the World tour. That larger-than-life spectacle proved to be a hit, running for years and also paving the way for RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! in Las Vegas, starring show alumni Yvie Oddly, Aquaria, Asia O'Hara, Derrick Barry, the Pit Crew and many more.
This was a really great show. We laughed, we cried, we danced. We had a great time and I look forward to seeing it again.
The best experience in Vegas omg!! RuPaul's girls are amazing!!
Very entertaining! Full of laughter, Would go see it again!
Literally the best show I’ve ever been to. Has amazing dancing, funny queens and is hilarious. 10/10 would recommend
This show is impressive. Everyone does a great job and seem to enjoy doing their jobs. We were definitely entertained. We would see the show again.
So glad I went for it and bought tickets! We had an awesomely fun time! Beautiful, talented girls who entertained and inspired us throughout the show! LOVE!!
The show was amazing live!! I can’t wait to go to another one. Took my son for his 18th birthday!!
Top notch entertainment! If you’re a fan of the show (and I promise I am) or a first time watcher, you will be entertained for the entire show. The Queens performing are class 1 entertainers and will have you singing along, crying and just celebrating loving the mirror. Shonte y’all stay!
I love RuPaul’s Drag Race and was super excited for this show. Will have to say I was disappointed. The base on the music was so loud I couldn’t hear the lyrics. From where I was sitting I couldn’t see any faces of the performers and there was no announcement as to who was who. Maybe this was not the best venue for this show.
This was probably one of the best experiences I had in Vegas!! If you are a drag race stan, you’ll love this show. It was everything I could ask for. The queens are so talented and so gorgeous. I did get lucky enough to get vip tickets, so meeting the queens made my night even better! Being able to talk to them just made me feel welcomed and loved. Yara Sophia is truly a character. I love her. Jasmine is that girl! Pangina had me geeked!! Eureka will forever be iconic to me ever since I saw her in Oklahoma and now Vegas! Derrick Barry is literally Britney and you can’t tell me otherwise! And Lawrence Chaney is the cherry on top of it all. Funny, hilarious, stunning. We love a good host! Def recommend this event.
Awesome show! Lawrence Chaney as host AMAZING! Being a long time drag race fan I was so excited to see the show in Vegas and it did not disappoint!!! Thoroughly enjoyed it, cast, sets, crew, music all wonderful! Would go back in a heart beat! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AMAZING! I loved every bit of the production! A MUST see!!
Finally got to attend RuPaul's Drag Race Las Vegas after multiple cancellations during COVID. Was very excited to attend a live performance after watching on television for so many years. Overall, we were happy with the performance, but it did not amaze us like I was expecting. There were some great performances, the emcee was super, and the Pit Crew was energetic. Less than expected was the lack of energy on occasion from the ladies, no lip syncing at times, and the use of recordings when some occasions did not warrant it (in my opinion). Again, the show is worth seeing, but it did not have the same energy as the television series.
If you have watched the show then this is the show for you! There are a lot of one liners that match the TV show. The performances are great, MC is funny and the venue is small enough making every seat in the house a good one.
We really enjoyed the show! The cast on for our night were fantastic and put on an amazing show 🥰
I know the show would have been amazing as it always is however, Seattle had Taylor Swift, the Bite of Seattle, the Seattle Storm game, the Mariner game, the Six Broadway show etc, etc, etc. Plus the 520 bridge was completely closed. It would have taken hours to get there instead of 30 minutes and there would have been zero parking. I missed the show, lost 180 +$$$, and it broke my heart. I had insurance on my ticket, which won't pay me back, but all I wanted was to see Drag Race Werq the World. So highly disappointed. The whole situation should have been planned better. Not RuPaul's shows fault. I'm still upset. Now I'll be afraid to purchase tickets in far in advance, in case something happens like this again, but Drag Race sells out quickly and I always splurge for the best seats and upgrades as possible. So sad.
Loved the show. My girl Pangina was there which was a VERY pleasant surprise. Lawrence was an amazing host. The show was wonderful and so much fun. After waiting years to see it it was definitely a highlight of my vacation. I hope to see it again in my next visit.
This show was excellent! The cast did a phenomenal job and the dancers were amazing. Highly recommend if you are in Vegas to catch this one!
What a great time! Audience watching was almost as fun as the queens and dancers on stage. A great production. Energetic, uplifting, and heartfelt. A feel good night. Couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate my 60th birthday. Me, my husband of nearly 38 years, and Rupaul!
Great show. Loved the choreography. Very powerful.
