RuPaul's Drag Race on Tour

Even beamed into people's living rooms through their TVs, RuPaul's Drag Race is one of the biggest and most fabulous shows on Earth — it was only a matter of time before its cavalcade of queens ended up in Las Vegas. Specifically, they took up residence at the Flamingo, in a room that for more than a decade hosted the Donny & Marie variety show. A far more colorful and extremely ambitious production, RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! involves big dance numbers, wild wardrobe changes, all-star catwalk crawls, vicious lip-sync battles and, well, a "bitch-slap" competition that calls for audience involvement. The mission is to make fans feel like they're in the middle of an interactive episode taping — a rotating cast of beloved queens previously seen on the show partakes in a series of challenges, performances and face-offs. The crowd determines a winner via the Clap-O-Meter, an outsize applause measurement device made to look like big lips and a giant tongue. The choreography comes from longtime Ru pal Jamal Sims (Step Up, the Oscars, live-action Aladdin) and is set to tunes previously heard on the series (think Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears) as well as new original music from RuPaul, producer Leland and Tom Campbell. Meanwhile, the vibrant and often delightfully absurd sets transport viewers to a veritable wonderland of neon sass.

RuPaul's Drag Race in Concert

RuPaul's Drag Race debuted on Logo TV in 2009 and became an instant hit. It didn't hurt that the show's host, mentor and head judge was already the most famous and beloved drag queen the world had ever known, but the series quickly demonstrated its power to captivate audiences of all backgrounds and launch incredibly colorful new stars. By the time it kicked off its 12th season in 2020, the reality competition series had been nominated for 23 Emmys and won nine, not to mention increased awareness and (rabid) appreciation of drag culture, as well as gifted unto the world such truly inspired queens as Trixie Mattel, Bianca Del Rio and Alaska Thunderf*ck 5000. In 2017, RuPaul's Drag Race leapt to VH1 and also off of the screen via the Werq the World tour. That larger-than-life spectacle proved to be a hit, running for years and also paving the way for RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! in Las Vegas, starring show alumni Yvie Oddly, Aquaria, Asia O'Hara, Derrick Barry, the Pit Crew and many more.

INCREDIBLE!!! Shannel is the perfect queen to host this event and this show is just the epitome of top tier drag. All the queens were amazing, I truly don't know how they have that much charisma, uniqueness, nerve & talent after all these shows but they all shined. I had such a wonderful time! We did the VIP package and all the queens were beautiful and kind and smelled good. Then we say front row and they remembered us and waved and winked during the show. I am a straight woman but Vanjie is so beautiful and talented she is making me question it all, lol. Everyone was amazing, the production was top notch and Shanel slayed as the host. The format was so cool, I could not have asked for a better experience.

by Penny on 9/9/24The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 5 out of 5

Drag is what we all need right now! I absolutely loved Shannel as the host. I was little sad we missed Jorgeous due to her being sick. I hope she feels better. All of these women are true artists and all of their outfits looked better in person. I would recommend going to see these women live, they always put on a great show!

  • Worth Every Single Penny!

This show was amazing. Every single performer had something unique that they brought to the stage. Costumes were clearly high quality, very detailed, and fitted to perfection. We had the pleasure of meeting the Queens and they were all so lovely. Shannel did such an amazing job hosting. She kept the crowd excited and engaged. The dancers were also amazing. You could tell they were giving it their all If I could go back I would!

  • RuPaul ready

by They slay on 9/9/24The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 5 out of 5

OMG I love the show. All the queens did what they had to do. It was up close and personal even for the people upstairs they knowledge them and they interact with the crowd, but they put on a show love I love it. I watch every RuPaul show I can watch From the beginning If you love, RuPaul, you love drag If you're not gay, the show is still for you Only thing I would like to say is, I would have loved to see more fabulous people in the audience dressed up, but the ones that was sitting by me Was fabulous. This is an experience,

  • Could have been better

by Kat on 9/9/24The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 3 out of 5

This was an overall fun evening. Somewhat unorganized but the second act was much better. however, my overall impression was that it was a money grab

  • Nice

by dizzydee on 9/9/24The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 4 out of 5

Well organized, great venue, entertaining. Some queens stood out more performance-wise, and were on it through out. Hoped for more energy from the rest. Better lighting could’ve elevated the show by much. Also regret not paying for the meet & greet, that would’ve made my evening, especially for Plastique. She was thee star!

  • Spectacular

by Pat on 9/9/24The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show! The Queens were amazing- loved how they came out in the audience. what a show- loved season 9 all stars and these ladies are the best of the best!!

  • It was good-ish

by DMV Attendee on 9/9/24The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 3 out of 5

Definitely was expecting more of a drag show experience. The choreography was sub par. You could tell there was a lot of time when they were just trying to fill space and kill time. While the performances were great, it was the only good part of the show.

  • Fun and feathers

by Drag Fan!!! on 9/7/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I have gone to a lot of RuPaul’s and Voss Event Performances and the All Stars 9 cast was hands down the best one yet!!! These queens turned looks, lip synced like the champs they are and interacted with the audience more than any other queens before. You should not miss this show!!!

  • Never Disappointed

by Mystaree on 9/5/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

There is nothing like a Drag show, but when the big screen is brought to your front porch, well, its supposed to be better & well, I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. I love watching the Queens live their lives out loud.
