RÜFÜS DU SOL on Tour

The Australian electro act RÜFÜS DU SOL can fill massive venues and their stage show reimagines their catalog accordingly. Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt operate as a three-piece band, a setup that allows them to expand and contract their undulating songs in thrilling ways — drum solos, locked-in jamming, extended intros and outros. Their musicianship and stunning stage setup gives audiences a brand-new understanding of even their most familiar songs. Case in point: their 2019 Coachella performance of the song "Underwater" was accompanied by a 360-degree visual work helmed by master video director James Frost.

RÜFÜS DU SOL in Concert

The three men who make up RÜFÜS DU SOL started playing music together by chance. When a 2010 vacation day in Byron Bay, Australia, was plagued by rain, the trio decided to use their time inside to write a song. That kicked off a nearly decade-long partnership that has taken the trio around the world playing house-influenced bangers for delighted crowds.

RÜFÜS DU SOL took the "new year, new you" mandate seriously on New Year's Day 2011, when they released their debut EP, Rüfüs. Two tracks from the album, the thumping "Paris Collides" and the swirling "We Left," were embraced by music blogs. Their 2012 EP Blue included the brooding "This Summer" and featured eclectic production touches like a five-cent coin being used as a guitar pick.

RÜFÜS DU SOL's full-length debut, Atlas, came out in 2013 and went to No. 1 on the Australian Albums Chart while garnering them multiple ARIA Award nominations. While they wouldn't win a trophy until 2015, when the single "You Were Right" picked up the Best Dance Release award, the nominations established them as one of Australia's most renowned electronic acts. RÜFÜS DU SOL relocated to Los Angeles in 2016, and the two albums that followed their move, 2016's Bloom and 2018's Solace, showcased their growth as songwriters and sonic explorers, keeping their beats steady while expanding the universe surrounding them.

    Great show, terrible venue access

    by Badger on 8/16/23

The show was great but accessing and planning the venue was an absolute nightmare. With gravel lots accessed by a single road, expect to wait longer than you'd ever imagine to leave. Plan to uber?...expect to wait +2hrs for and uber/lyft and likely still need to book premium to prevent repeated cancelations. Don't even think about using public transit as there are nearly no sidewalks to get to the main road. The infrastructure here is so poor that I'll never attend another concert here.

    by Tom on 8/16/23

Best concert EVER!!! The energy from the band and the crowd was a first time experience for my wife and I. We're both gonna be 60 this year and were waiting for Rufus to come to Charlotte. We have been fans for years. Being older, not old!, surrounded by younger ppl, again, the energy was incredible and we can't wait to see them again!!!

Rufus great, live nation dropped the ball

    by CP on 8/15/23

Rufus du sol was fantastic, but the opener and time leading up to the show were pathetic. Chanel Tres went on for 30 minutes, then they dragged him off stage and we sat in silence for the headliner for over an hour. It was shambolic at best. We deserve some money back because of live nation’s incompetence.

    by Karl on 8/15/23

we loved everything; the venue, food and drink selections, the lawn seats, the light show and the music was all LIT! Would do it again and again! Highly recommend a Rufus Du Sol show. It’s one of the best concerts we’ve attended. 🫶🏼

Mediocre show with delays and overpriced drinks

    by Kiril on 8/15/23

The band is rather mediocre than special. Live sound of his vocal is really different from recording. PreperTikn took 45 minutes , so had to just stand without music....white claw drin is 19 $((((

    Rufus was AMAZING, venue oversold

    by Tayzfordayz on 8/15/23

Same as title. The venue felt oversold and crowded which is typical for LN venues. Rufus Du Sol was incredible! The opener should’ve had a longer set. There was one opener that only played 30 minutes. Most of my friends didn’t even realize the opener was on because of the sound being super low.

    Went fairly smoothly

    by Eric on 8/15/23

Liked the venue itself and the sound quality was nice. Police directing traffic really helped. Drink prices were awful, $40 for two beers is crazy. I don’t see myself buying drinks at future shows due to how overpriced they are.

Concert was great , sear management was horrible

    by Pmorris on 8/15/23

The concert was absolutely amazing but it was ruined by drunk people sneaking in to lower level and filling seats that wasn’t theirs . Me and my girlfriend had two seats in front of us that was filled by 4 people overcrowding And leaning on us . We asked them if it was their seats and they said no they had entered in through the side to get some better seats . It was a horrible experience due to them leaning back on us and being obnoxiously drunk . We payed for individual seats so we wouldn’t have to worry about this

    Transcendental. Inviting. Memorable.

    by Katie on 8/14/23

Truly a band that exudes magic through sound and sight. The crowd was welcoming, kind, and pleasant to be around. Seeing them in the venue that we did made the experience even more special and fun.
