About

Artist and producer duo RØZ, comprised of Manolo Cabrera and Hugo Lara, has quickly established itself as one of the most innovative projects in Mexico's electronic music scene. RØZ has transitioned from digital platforms to selling out music venues in less than three years, challenging genre conventions with their chameleon-like musical approach.
Manolo Cabrera began his musical journey inspired by electronic music festivals after movies, specifically those from Tomorrowland. His first steps as an artist led him to experiment with trap before venturing into Tropical House and Future Bass, tracks he shared on SoundCloud.
Hugo Lara, meanwhile, took his first musical steps in classical music. At just four years old, he began playing violin to the music of Italian composer Antonio Lucio Vivaldi. During his adolescence, influential artists like Skrillex also drew him to EDM. He started producing music using GarageBand, which eventually became the starting point for his first collaborations with Manolo.
Hugo and Manolo's paths crossed during high school. Initially, each maintained their solo project, RØZ (Manolo) and Larah (Hugo), collaborating informally and exchanging feedback on their respective productions. “He created things with synths that I didn't know how to make,” explains Manolo, while Hugo appreciated the freshness and originality in his future partner's compositions.
The duo officially consolidated after working on a track with Tom & Collins. When deciding which name to use for the release, they merged under the name RØZ, marking the formal beginning of the duo.
