    Roy and Buddy

by Radio on 10/17/19Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

The holograms were so realistic. Silly that I would notice, but the pant legs would move with the movement of the upper body. The music of the live band and back up singers made the old song fresh.

    Worth seeing!

by L. on 10/12/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

At first I thought this is hokey, but the longer they played, (the band and singers were amazing) I got into it and enjoyed it very much.

    Loved it!

by Sue on 10/5/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

The theater looked great on the outside with all those lights. It looked festive and welcoming. I think they needed another line to check bags. It was slow and bogged down. The theater looked as I recalled it, bringing back happy memories. The food and drinks were extremely expensive. I would never buy them. The holigraphic images were fantastic! They were so real, it was just like the real performers were there. A fun touch when they disappeared into smoke. The music was great. I couldn't stay still in my seat. It was so much fun. I just wish it had been a longer show. I love having a theater in East County again. I used to bring my family there all the time for shows, especially at Christmas.

    Very Interesting and Good

by LadyBug on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

Very real looking - you can tell something a bit off but amazing technology. Music loud (like at a concert) but, thank you, not so loud to kill ear drums. Audience seemed to really enjoy it. Lots of cheering. I enjoyed it very much but not sure if I would go to another.

    Good band, unique experience.

    by J. J. on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

We enjoyed the music and the band was excellent. The hologram was a bit disconcerting. Wish that there would have been information shared about the technology and how it came about. Could have been verbal or in a program. Also, seemed like there should have been a tribute to Roy and Buddy.

It was so real. We would like to see other programs like this.

    Great experience

    by J. H. on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

Didn't know what to expect, but this was amazing. Made Buddy Holly's music come to life, the band was spot on...only wish they made them stand out a little more (everyone was dressed in all black) because the guitarists were great and did some excellent unisons. Roy was more or less stationary, but Buddy was much more animated, but that was how they were. Venue is awesome, 1500 seats, great acoustics. Go see it!!

    Unbelievable!!

by CJ on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

The Roy and Buddy show blew my family minds! We were in awe of the technology behind it. Still raving about it to family and friends! It had all of us singing and cheering, along with the ENTIRE crowd. Our 14 yr old twins were going crazy too! Incredible show and beautiful venue!

    Amazing

    by D. S. on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

This was an amazing experience, the closest you could get to a real life performance of these two great artists. Technologically incredible. The live band and the hallograms were in perfect synce. Loved how the hallograms disappeared in a wisp of smoke. The Magnolia Center is a wonderful new venue, worth a return visit.

Rock'N Roll is absolutely here to stay!

by Rockin' Robin on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

The band was absolutely super but not acknowledged which was a shame. The music and holograms were fantastic. This was my first experience with a hologram show and it was a little eerie when Roy Orbison appeared coming up from the floor. Once it got started, the whole show was amazing! I highly recommend it.

    It was fascinating!

by 1960's Alive! on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

The show itself was incredible, but it could have been so much better! At the beginning of the second half, it very briefly showed scenes of the past, and a few interviews. That should have been in the first half, and could have been much more informative and longer. They missed a chance to portray what the singers were really like. The use of the hologram could have been explained, as my husband insisted they were impersonators. The venue was nice, but the tickets stated the show began at 7pm, when in reality it began at 8pm. An easy fix, if anyone cared!

    Innovative, fun, heartfelt

by Cindi on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

When the first hologram figure (Roy) came up, I was flabbergasted - looks just like a person that has a spotlight on them. The position of the singers on one side, and the band on the other, fit perfectly with Roy's and Buddy's body movements when he'd look or acknowledge them. I'm a huge Buddy Holly fan - I LOVED his "performance". It wrenched the heart to know what we lost in Buddy's rock-n-roll talent, as a song writer, singer, guitarist. It was sad when they "poofed" away at the end. Such a great way to showcase their music.

    Really unique performance!

by Mel on 10/4/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

The hologram idea was really cool and unique. We felt as though we were really seeing them in concert. Show time wasn’t clear on tickets .... especially electronic. They should all say “performance begins at” and “doors open at”. Half of us showed up at 6-6:30 expecting the show to start at 7:00pm. Not ideal for a mostly “senior” crowd.

    Gone But DEFINITELY NOT Forgotten

by A. Tiggerbrat on 10/3/19The Saban - Beverly Hills

This concert was AMAZING!!!! Was a small taste of what it must have been like to see these great artists when they were still here! A lot of energy from the crowd. Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly were fantastic in their day and ever so relevant today!

    rock n roll dream tour

by linda on 9/30/19The Saban - Beverly Hills

We loved this event! Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly were two of my favorite rock and roll singers. To be able to hear their timeless music, and watch them perform on stage is really great.

amazing technology; a taste of the future

by J.B. on 9/30/19The Saban - Beverly Hills

As my son pointed out, within a week we had eaten replicated meat and went to a hologram concert, so we are getting closer to living in a Star Trek universe. Part of our rational for going at all was that if we were on the Enterprise and heard there was going to be this concert in the Holodeck, we'd have been there. We also knew that at the very least the music would be great...and it was. If you walked into the concert not knowing it was a hologram, you would have thought you were seeing a Buddy Holly/Roy Orbison impersonator. They looked 3 dimensional, light seemed to reflect off them, they could turn around and gesture to the band, though i have no idea what the band could see or how it was projected. I was hoping it would be a holographic representation of actual performances they once did, but they seemed more like images built from elements. It was fascinating and enjoyable and showed clearly that there is a future for this tech. I do wish they could add some speaking, even if its just saying something about the song they were about to sing. A little audience patter would make it a bit more realistic and easier to relate to.

Far exceeded my expectations. Remarkable technology.

    by e. k. on 9/30/19The Saban - Beverly Hills

Pretty close to seeing a live performance. This technology should open up a whole new world of concert entertainment. We can now see performers who are no longer with us or don't perform live any more or to remote areas. Wow.!!
