Roy Ayers is a genius! The father of Acid Jazz delivers an amazing performance as he plays all of hits and then some! The Roy Ayers band is also talented and entertaining! Roy Ayers just turned 70 so please go see him in concert before he retires!
Sound system very poor @ Regal. Performance was good considering that.
the concert was outstanding, tire entire crowd was rocking. roy ayers and tom browne can still rock a crowd. there wasn't a bad seat in the house and the parking can't be beat.
I had never seen either of the performers live before and was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed it to the depths of which I did. The audience was lively the music was engaging and the talent was fabulous. The live performances were definitely on point. Roy Ayers even autographed his CD with its purchase!!!
Could have been longer - but the show was great. the warm ups and the headliner. Love the Regal! bring more acts to the south side.

I had a great time at the Roy Ayers concert, he was awesome. It was an added bonus that he shared that he was celebrating his 70th birthday. A friend of his flew in from New York to orate a poem she wrote, and the staff brought out a cake and the audience serenaded him with birthday wishes. Good times.
Roy can still play. Band was good, some musicians GREAT.
The show was great. I like the way Roy Ayers highlighted his entire band. They were all star quality.
His show was very entertaining and I would definitely recommend this to friends. He and his group are very talented.
The artists in this group are each able to be top performers on their one. But the Group plays and works together as one. They have been together 15 years and it shows. It's impossible to single out any given member as each seemed better than the one before.
The show was full of interaction with the audience. The music is still some of the best jazz ever made. He brought back some great memories for my husband and me. And celebrating Roy's 70th Bday with him and the band was another memory we won't soon forget. ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS! And the staff at the venue was great!
Mr. Ayers put on a great show. He engaged the crowd and the music was great. I will attend his show the next time that he appears!!
This was a birthday gift for one of my relatives and it turned out to be a treat for both of us. They all took turns with their short sets, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the experience (nice warm breeze off the river and good music). I'm so glad that I was able to see these extraordinary jazz musicians!
I love Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston Smith and Tom Browne, but I felt that I did not get my money's worth at this concert. They played some of favorites, but two of the performers left the stage after about 15 minutes each.
It was very good they turn it out. I would recommend anyone to go and see
This was a very good concert - the best I've been to this year. Lonnie Liston Smith was outstanding, Tom Browne was exceptional and Roy Ayers was on top of his game.
The concert was awesome. Roy Ayers came out and did his thing. I love watching musicians play live. His music still sounds great and he still performs well.
All I can say about the Roy Ayers concert last night is HOTTT!!!! Roy is truly a legend. This was my first time seeing him in concert and he brought the house down. Tom Browne and Lonnie Liston Smith also did a great job but Roy was the showstopper! I had a blast. There was a grown and sexy crowd there so the atmosphere was great! Chene Park is truly one of Detroit's Crown Jewels! I will say if you have never experienced Roy Ayers live, PLEASE DO SO IMMEDIATELY! He will not disappoint. The man will be 70 yrs old in Sept but you cannot tell by his stage presence! HE IS HOTTTTT!!!
