    A True Music Icon

by hairfan on 4/18/10Bethesda Theatre - Bethesda

Let's just say I feel blessed to have experienced him in my lifetime. It is understandable that because he is 69 years old that he was likely unable to perform a more fulsome sample from his extensive repertoire. I must say, though, that I left wanting much, much more. That's okay because it inspired me to try to find as much of his much as I can get my hands on. Love you Roy. God Bless.

    Gary Taylor was the bomb!

    by Lee23 on 7/6/09Chene Park - Detroit

This was my first experience seeing Gary Taylor in concert and I was treated to a great vocal show. Gary and his band delivered a clear and better sounding concert than his CD's! To sound as good if not better than a CD saids alot about the vocal strength of any entertainer and he was excellent! Roy Ayers band especially his horn man and drummer were extraordinary and it was a treat. I was disappointed that Mr. Ayers did not do more of his "old" stuff because the person that went with me was not familiar with him. Overall I enjoyed the show, especially Gary Taylor.

This was the first time I saw Mr Ayers and Mr.Taylor live. They were awesome!!! Thank you for a wonderful and exciting performance guys. Inspite of the rain and the cold draft you guys heated up the scene and the audience with your awesome gifts. And Mr. Ayers thanks for bringing the "Sunshine" !!!!!

    Bringing Oldschool Back!

by Tsquare on 7/2/09Chene Park - Detroit

You know, young people don't really understand what the real artist went through, to get to where they are... In the day, you had real artist, and real singers, being backed by real musicians putting it down like it should be... Pure physical energy!

    Now that was jazz!

by Jackie on 7/2/09Chene Park - Detroit

Gary Taylor was wonderful, soulful and in tune with the crowd. Roy Ayers stole the show mixing old jazz with new. Real Jazz. Loved it.
