About

Roger Waters found international fame as a founding member of legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Selling over 250 million albums worldwide and being inducted into both the British and American Rock & Roll Halls Of Fame, Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Roger Walters has also had tremendous success as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums and touring extensively all across the globe.
Roger was the creative force behind the prime years of Pink Floyd's impressive run. From the classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1968 until Final Cut in 1983, Walters was responsible for the lyrics, arrangement and concept behind every album they released. By the time he left the band in 1985 they had been firmly established as one of the most critically acclaimed and best selling bands in popular music history. Albums such as The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall are some of the best selling albums of all time and still sell literally thousands of copies every year to this day.
After leaving Pink Floyd he moved into solo projects with albums such as Radio K.A.O.S and Amused To Death, once again concept albums in his unique style. In 1990 just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he staged his most elaborate concert ever with a giant outdoor performance in Berlin where the Wall once stood. Featuring guest performances from the likes of Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell and Cyndi Lauper, the concert registered an official attendance of over 200,000 people. The official live album, titled The Wall - Live, was released shortly afterwards and quickly went Platinum. This period of his career also saw Roger collaborate with artists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on various projects.
After taking a seven year break from both public eyes and the music industry, Roger returned with a bang in 1999 with a tour that started small and quickly grew. With more modest venues quickly selling out, more dates and larger venues were quickly added as the return tour expanded worldwide. For over three years Roger toured the world, culminating with a performance in front of over 70,000 at Glastonbury Festival in 2002. In 2005 Pink Floyd played together for one last time at charity event Live 8. Roger has continued his solo tours on and off since then, often performing special arrangements of Pink Floyd material mixed with his solo work.

    The Wall - Brilliant!

by QueenBeee on 10/18/10Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

The Wall by Roger Waters was pure brilliance. An amazing night that I couldn't get enough of. Was upset that they had an intermission because I didn't want it to stop. I saw The Wall in London 30 years ago and thought it was amazing then - it was. But of course, technology, as we all know has greatly improved and it was there for us all to witness at the Coliseum! Amazing concert that I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

As soon as my friends and I walked into the Arena and saw the beginnings of the Wall being built, we knew that the concert would be awesome. And it was! The graphics on the Wall were breathtaking and we left the concert in complete awe and amazement.

    Once in a lifetime event

by funcity on 10/18/10XL Center - Hartford

Roger Waters' performance of The Wall was exceptional. The music, sound and visual effects were all top notch. Roger's voice coaching really paid off as he was able to hit all the high notes. Proof of that came when he performed a duet with himself recorded 30 years ago. The show was truly awesome. No one left their seats, except for intermission. There was less (although some) bitterness shown toward authority than in past shows. The crew did a fantastic job of constructing the wall which stretched across the entire venue, all in time with the musical performance. I may never get the music out of my head.

They Don't Make Them Like This Anymore

    by ChadCo1 on 10/18/10Verizon Center - Washington

WOW! Roger Waters THANK YOU! Sound quality - unbelievable. Visuals - like only Pink Floyd could deliver. Singing - Spectacular with a unique solution to the problem older singers face - the deterioration of their voice over time. Roger sang duo with a younger film clip of himself - it worked brilliantly. You can relate to his older voice (and still feel like a kid again) but get the quality of a younger Roger during the difficult notes. It was a great solution to a problem plaguing bands of the 70's, 80's and early 90's now. The Wall cartoons were touched up but only made better and stayed true to their original look. The physical wall was so cool to see being built and the 7 or 8 balloon characters were better then previous versions and very well done.

Roger Waters performs The Wall - Outstanding!!

by msgarcia on 10/18/10Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

I have never been a fan of Nassau Coliseum because of the sound system, but did not miss the chance to see Roger Waters perform The Wall live. To my surprise the sound quality was excellent! The virtual show on the wall itself, was absolutely amazing!! This is one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I've seen many. And, just to throw it out there, the courtesy announcement that the show was beginning and continuing so you didn't miss anything was truly appreciated.

    Ultimate Wall

by PGabe on 10/18/10XL Center - Hartford

Roger Waters put on an incredible show. Top notch acoustics and musicianship, coupled with incredble visual effects and animation. I saw Pink Floyd perform The Wall in 1980, and came to this show hoping Roger would have some of the effects Floyd used in 1980. Not only did he reprise all of the effects from 1980, he stepped it up several notches by updating many of them and by using the wall for terrific non-stop animation. Roger's voice remains excellent - another surprise given his age. I have not seen a concert this good in a very long time, and I thank Roger Waters for bringing The Wall back to the theater.
