About

Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, has been recognized as one of the most gifted songwriters and lyricists of our time. As the legendary composer of many of the band’s greatest hits, he gave us “Give a Little Bit,” “The Logical Song,” “Dreamer,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “Breakfast in America,” “It’s Raining Again,” “School,” “Fool’s Overture” and so many others that have become the soundtrack of our lives and helped his former band sell well over 60 million albums.

Hodgson continues to tour extensively worldwide performing not only his classics, but also material from his solo albums.

  • Best Show of the Year

by ConcertFan4years on 7/30/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 5 out of 5

When it seems all the classic rock n roll has gone off the radio it is refreshing to hear a classic like Supertramp actually sound even better than the albums. Roger really appreciates the fans and it shows. His voice is just as good as it did 35 years ago with a good mix of songs that don't let you down.

  • Supertramp and more!

by Starmanz on 7/30/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 5 out of 5

It was pretty amazing show, especially with Al Stewart as the opening act. I love the Pacific Amphitheatre as a venue for sound, comfort and accessiblility. Gorgeous night with awesome music. Roger sounded as great as he did back in the Supertramp years. His band was top notch and provided an incredible back up both musically and vocally. For those of us that have followed his career since the Tramp days, he also has some excellent material to pull from. A good cross section of his music while making sure he played all the Supertramp material that people wanted to hear. The crowd was enthusiastic and sang along with most of the songs. I thoroughly recommend catching this tour if you can. If not, see him the next time he comes around. Great musician and a great concert.

  • ANOTHER GREAT PERFORMANCE

by ADarkAria on 7/30/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 4 out of 5

Roger Hodgson never fails to put on a great performance whisking you away to a much greater time for popular music. We try to see him at least every 3 or 4 years when he makes the circuit - at a variety of venues (not just Pacific Am). His voice hasn't changed at all since Supertramp, and he always includes his audience making the evening a wonderful vacation on memory lane that you just can't help but enjoy being on. Such a treat...looking forward to the next visit already! And, to Roger...in the words of a similarly exceptional voice (Jon Anderson of YES): "Had to hear your wonderous stories!"

  • Worth The Waite? Bloody well Right

by Robleto5 on 7/29/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 5 out of 5

It may not have been supertramp like I had seen in the late 70’s but Roger delivered with his vocals, band and enpicable snong writing. The evening was magical in sound and the comsoms were epic with Venus, Mars a pre full bloodmoon and days before the the eclipse.

Roger Hodgson of Supertramp put on an excellent performance! He sincerely enjoys performing for the audience, and his music really is timeless. Everything from his stage presence, the talent of his band members, the sound system, lighting and special effects was spot on. I hope he comes back next year!

Roger was amazing! I had never seen Supertramp before and had always enjoyed their music going back to their earliest works. He had so much energy and played with much passion. You can tell that he loves what he does and it came through in his show! I have a renewed love of Roger Hodgson and his music! I hope to get to see him play again soon!

  • A trip down mwmory lane

by Antoine65 on 7/29/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 5 out of 5

A real treat with a revisit to to all the Supertramp hits, including Hide in Your Shell and A Soapbox Opera. It might not be with the original linr-up but the band is pretty good and you cannot get a better experience than this.

  • Great Show, Great Memories.

by CosmoTheCat on 7/28/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 5 out of 5

Roger Hodgson and the music of Supertramp was a great experience. The venue sound and festive atmosphere added to the collective experience of sharing such an amazing soundtrack to spend with good friends. Roger and his solid band's music is timeless and his voice is still as amazing as it was in the 70s and 80s. Looking forward to seeing Roger again.

Al Stewart was a great opening act. We were looking forward to seeing Roger Hodgson from Supertramp as it was one of my favorite groups from the my college days. Roger did not disappoint, a nice combination of newer songs and old classics.

Great performer but really light on all the hits we hoped to hear.

  • Please Roger, every four years is not enough.

by classicrockluvr on 7/28/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 5 out of 5

When Roger Hodgson comes to town, which is not often enough I don't have to wonder whether or not the concert will be awesome, it is always a given. He has been one of my top two favorite musicians for over 40 years. Roger will penetrate your soul and warm your heart with the unique brilliance, passion, and sincerity that pours out from his fingers and his voice with every song he plays it is clearly evident that he loves performing, and is authentically gracious in his thanks for being heard. He did not perform my two favorites( Don't Leave Me Now and Lady), but he has so many great songs that this is not unexpected. He did play my 3rd, 4th 5th 6th etc etc, favorite songs, however. His song set consists of classics such as School, Dreamer, Hide in Your Shell, Fools Overture and, Child of Vision He opened with Long way Home, and closed with Give a Little Bit. If he is coming to your area, do yourself a HUGE favor and go see him. When you leave, you will say WHEW! Thank goodness I didn't miss that! .

  • Give A Little Bit

by Anonymous on 7/28/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 3 out of 5

Roger Hodgson is an icon of Rock and Prog Rock. He's a sweet guy and very loving to his audience. An Amazing performer. WE LOVED HIM! Pacific Ampitheater's seats are hard and uncomfortable. Also the offset is not quite right as the person sitting in front of you blocks your view. The seats are angled upwards putting pressure on the back of the knees too!

  • Roger Hodgson Was Fantastic!

by terils on 7/28/18The Pacific Amphitheatre - Costa MesaRating: 5 out of 5

Roger Hodgson sounds as good - or better - than he did in his Supertramp days! He played all of his classics, Give a Little Bit, Dreamer, School, Take the Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Breakfast in America, It's Raining Again ++ and many of his solo hits, like Along Came Mary. What a fantastic evening - two hours of beautiful music performed by a truly great musician. Highly recommend seeing him if you have the chance.
