About

Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, has been recognized as one of the most gifted songwriters and lyricists of our time. As the legendary composer of many of the band’s greatest hits, he gave us “Give a Little Bit,” “The Logical Song,” “Dreamer,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “Breakfast in America,” “It’s Raining Again,” “School,” “Fool’s Overture” and so many others that have become the soundtrack of our lives and helped his former band sell well over 60 million albums.

Hodgson continues to tour extensively worldwide performing not only his classics, but also material from his solo albums.

  • Fabulous

by Stubb on 3/9/12Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I guess it's the falsetto voices that last. In the past I've been ripped off by Roger Daltrey, David Lee Roth, and Ian Anderson, all of whom either had vocal problems or had lost their powerful voices to the ravages of age. Roger sounded great. I always swore I'd sleep out for Supertramp reunion tickets, but since Roger and Rick can't stand the sight of each other, I guess this will have to do. A few classics were missing (Even In The Quietest Moments, Had A Dream, It's Raining Again), and I thought the setlist could have done without some of his slower ballads (Lovers In The Wind). But the sound was crisp, and his backup band very tight. Hearing Dreamer live for the first time was nothing short of transcendent. I wore these records out in high school, and Supertramp has been with me ever since. As good as these 'nostalgia' concerts get. Can't wait for him to come back.

  • Roger Hodgson at Hard Rock

by Krinks on 3/9/12Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great show, not flashy, but one of the best sounding concerts I have attended in years. It was like listening to the albums. Roger's range is still incredible, his music, and that of his musicians was very enjoyable. He was very personalble, talking between songs. The only complaint, he started off saying he was sharing 2 hours of music, and despite the crowd still giving an ovation, and clapping, and a one song return, Hard Rock turns the house lights up after only an hour and a half. That was VERY disappointing.

  • Roger Hodgson was Great!!

The man is still at the top of his game. I would see him again and again!!. Can't wait for him to come back to South Florida.

  • Music that fills your heart

by PeanutLouie on 3/9/12Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I was not a Supertramp fan in my youth, but in recent years I'd seen a DVD and a televised concert of Roger Hodgson playing live with only one accompanist and couldn't have been more impressed. The spare arrangement somehow brought out the melodic and soulful (as in higher consciousness) content out more to me. Anyway, this time Roger is part of a 5-man band and he's still spectacular -- so maybe it's just me who's taken the long way home in figuring out what a treasure Mr. H. is! As everyone else has mentioned, his voice hasn't aged a day, and his young band is wonderful. I loved Roger's repartee between songs, he seems like a lovely man -- definitely a spiritual seeker. He appreciated the enthusiastic audience response, and even got a bit choked up after the final encore. Give a little bit? He gave a lot, and the audience loved him for it. He mentioned he had not been to Florida for over 30 years, since he was there w/ Supertramp. I hope he won't stay away so long again.

I took my son yesterday to see his first concert at Hollywood HardRock an what better person to see than Roger Hodgson. A true artist, great concert, great voice. It 2012 and he sounds like back in the 70's like time has not passed, he is Supertramp, my son thanked me twice. Thank you Roger for a great concert.

  • Hodgson in Fine Form

by djralphie on 3/9/12Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Who needs Supertramp when you have Roger Hodgson? He is Supertramp. We saw him back in Miami in early 80's or late 70's with Supertramp and he hasn't lost a thing. The Supertramp songs sounded as fresh as ever and his solo works just as great. The lone criticism was that he cut the set list he was performing elsewhere by about 4 or 5 songs and made this an abbreviated show.

  • Roger's voice is still amazing

by Muckey on 3/9/12Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

They did a terrific job. It was wonderful hearing Roger's voice. Thankfully he still sounds the same. We enjoyed the show very much.

  • Wow! What an excellent show!

    by WildEyedNorthernBoy1 on 3/8/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

I loved it! He was so welcoming and gratious. Interested only in making sure we all had a good time. And to see him at this great venue made it all the more special. I plan to keep watch for future performances by other artists at this terrific theater where every seat allows a perfect view and access to the stage/artist. Roger, and all his talented band members, gave a performance as if he/they stopped into your home and jammed right in your living room. After attending this unforgettable experience of a concert, I plan to attend any nearby show that these exciting musicians schedule. A 4 SURE DO NOT MISS SHOW!

  • Roger and Band put on a fantastic performance

    by Stiffy1 on 3/8/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Overall the show was very good, Aaron was fantastic as usual, his enthusiasm really is delightful to watch. The rest of the band could take a que from him, they seemed to be going through the motions (Obviusly reading the music during some of the songs)

  • Breakdfast In America! What a meal!!

    by XVMan on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to alot of concerts and seen a bunch of the great artists of our times, but this show that Roger Hodgson and band put on was by far the best of any show I have ever seen. The venue could not have gotten any better. It was like he was playing in my living room just for me! This guys voice just doesn't loose any range with age. In fact it is an amazing vocal range he can reach! I was taken back in time and can not get his songs out of my head and it has been two days since the concert! It does not get any better than Supertramp live! How can one guy write so many incredible songs and have so much talent? Need I say more!

  • Roger Hodgson concert was fantastic!

    by gsdlady on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

This show was almost 2 whole hours long. Roger's voice is still dead on and his band is unbelievable, especially one member who, it seems, played 25 different instruments! The Northern Lights Theater at Potawatomi Casino is a very nice venue. The tabled seating, complete with cocktail waiters/waitresses, is very comfortable and relaxing. All in all a very good show and I would recommend it.

  • Putting the Super in Supertramp!!

    by GManFromMadTown on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Roger Hodgson was incredible! He performed just about all the classic Supertramp songs that he performed on their albums. His vocal was as good as it was back in the day, and he was very entertaining whether performing or talking to the audience. His band was exceptional, and I can't say enough about the multi-instrumentalist he brought in to nail the original Supertramp sound. If you are a child of the 70s and have the chance to see Roger at one of the remaining tour stops, don't let it slip away. He said he hasn't done a full-band tour in the US since the 80s, so you might not get to see him live again for some time.

  • Rodger from Supertramp

    by Toocoolty on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Rodger was very engaging with the audience...he urged everyone to forget their troubles and enjoy the evening. His voice was amazing after all these years and the band was tight, especially the wind player.

  • Roger Hodgson and his band were very enjoyable.

    by Cyner on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Roger is truly a very talented and sucessful musician. His selection of music for the event was superb and brought back wonderful memories of our early years when we listened to Supertramp. We enjoyed his sense of humor and his interaction with the audience.

  • Top notch show

    by Anonymous on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

If you are a fan of Supertramp and of Roger's solo work - this is a show not to be missed. Roger's voice still has wonder range and his supporting band was dynamite. The crowd was so appreciative that we gave the band standing ovations after a majority of the songs.

  • He's the only one I got!

    by KenoshaYesfan on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

great show. I was taken back in time to Alpine Valley so many years ago. Roger and his band were right on and sounded fantastic!

  • WOW!!!!!!

    by sonofa on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

I will start by saying that I do enjoy music of different generes, but rock to hard rock is my primary love. I have alaways enjoyed the music of Supertramp even with out owning a single album or cd. I am a little older now, this show was on my 49th b-day. Wow ! That was a beautiful set of music including all the classics and a few solo's. That was as entertaining as any show I have ever seen. Roger is one cool person. He does sound as good now as he did back in the day. He has a wonderfully talented band, and this is a show that should not be missed! Although the venue at Potawatomi is a very intimate venue and plays right in to what Roger does, but I am sure he is great no matter the venue. So in closing get out there and support this artist. You will go home happy!

  • Roger still has much to offer

    by Rapcd on 3/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Roger Hodgson, along with a very talented group of band mates played to inspire for over two hours. They conjured up many great memories and had my wife and I singing all the way home, we took the long way of course. Great time, we would do it again.
