Really not thing.... more like a rock opera. I should have known when it said the DSO would be backing Roger up. We left early. Lots of folks left early. But, I bought his new CD. Enjoyed that!
Great show. Better than I expected. Sounds super backed up by a symphony orchestra.
This concert was a rocking symphony that made a memorable night!
Fantastic show! Roger Daltrey, his band and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra performing Tommy...we loved it!
Daltry sounded really really good and the rest of his band sounded great also and to have the DSO there just helped everything come together nicely!!!
I really don't think I've ever enjoyed a concert more. Roger Daltry, the Detroit Symphony, Pete Townshend's brother Simon taking his place on guitar, their excellent band, the acoustics. The concert was three days ago, and I'm still floating from the experience!
Concert of a lifetime - great to see one of my favorite performers in person! Seats were great, show was unforgettable!
Meadowbrook was a Fantastic venue!!! The weather was HOT, but no Rain. Roger's band and the DSO were GREAT!!!
Anytime I go see Daltrey on his own or with Pete I expect his voice to give out. Still has not happened!! This show was a fusion of a rock band with the DSO and it was simply incredible.
Followed him since the sixties and he's still rockin'. and Meadow Brook is always a great venue.
They played the whole album “Tommy” from start to finish (75min.) with no break or talking. Something about and orchestra and rock music is magical. Roger still has the voice and his band was great as well.
Tommy was done like the album, though I was waiting for "Underture". He knows what we like!
Great concert. Roger still has it! He gave his all on a very hot and humid night. Well done with a great orchestra. Don’t know why they allow drunken knuckle-heads to stand up for the whole concert. Don’t know why they don’t help get the cars out of the lot more efficiently. But I would go again. The music was fantastic!
Incredible show! Loved every bit of it! Roger and the band did not disappoint in any way. They all sounded excellent and the energy was fantastic. DSO was wonderful as well. It was truly an enjoyable concert. I hope he continues to return and play concerts in our area.
Roger really brought it dispite the high temps. It was great to hear the entire rock opera performed from start to finish.
Just as amazing as when I first saw him 20 years ago, don’t pass up a chance to experience history, these guys won’t be around forever
Roger was in fine voice,hitting all the notes.The DSO provided the punch to the Tommy setlist,helping to fill the void that Pete Townshend would helped to have provided.That being said,Simon Townshend did a great job on vocals and second guitar.The performance overall was truly moving and is high on my all time favorite shows! The encores were a bonus and the artist that performed the closing electric violin on Baba O'Reilly was truly deserving of the standing ovation!! The show had its tear inducing moments for me and I have played the Tommy CD non stop for 3 days after the show! The only negative overall was parking,entering and leaving the venue,stiff parking fee,and cattle-like navigating in and out of the ampitheatre. "Tommy I can hear you!!!!"
View was obstructed, sound was bad, traffic in and out really sucked and needs to be fixed. Show was good if I was able to see and hear it. Talk about deaf dumb and blind...ha!! Love Roger and the music of the Who, but venue sucked for this concert.
Concert was great. Roger Daltry still has a great voice.
Roger Daltrey, the DSO, and his band were astounding! They performed in high heat and humidity and rocked it the entire night! Daltrey's voice was very strong and reminiscent of BB King. I loved every minute of this concert!
