Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

by bc on 3/17/25Knoxville Civic Auditorium - KnoxvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Started out funny, but it was the same joke all the way through and got very weird talking about "Brenda". His delivery is good, but he needs some better material.

  • Rodney Carrington is worth seeing

    by Hotrod76 on 2/24/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

We were planning on going because he is funny as hell. It made it even easier when he did a couples special 2 for $60 and the seats we got were on floor near stage. So it made it an even better experience.

  • Pleasantly Surprised

by Laura B on 2/19/25Ameristar Casino and Hotel - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

I had never heard of Rodney until my husband called me, excited about his upcoming shows near our home. He doesn’t ask to do things often—unless it involves fishing—so I figured, why not? After buying the tickets, he had me listen to a few YouTube clips, and I started second-guessing my decision, wondering if I should have done more research first. But after seeing Rodney live on Saturday night, I can confidently say I’d recommend his show to anyone. He was absolutely hilarious—maybe a little off-color at times—but he made it feel like we were just sitting around our living room, swapping stories with an old friend. We had an incredible time! Rodney is a natural, and I’d see him again in a heartbeat.

  • Good, but nothing new

by Ken on 2/17/25Ameristar Casino and Hotel - Kansas CityRating: 3 out of 5

Enjoyed Rodney, but really nothing new. A little political humor in the beginning that was hilarious; the rest is the rest. He is funny and you get a good laugh. That said, I was hoping for a little more new material. Wish him luck!

  • He was hilarious.

I swear I needed a new pair of underwear. And a little bit more pride.

We have seen Rodney a few times, always good laughs with his new and old jokes.

The show was fabulous! I've been to many of Rodney's shows and this one was just as wonderful as all the rest! His opener, Matt, did a great job too! My favorite part was meeting Rodney after the show. He is such an amazing man! Highly recommend VIP tickets!

  • It was ok

by Silver fox on 1/28/25Charleston Coliseum - CharlestonRating: 3 out of 5

The performance was somewhat funny. The opening act was actually funnier than Rodney, in my opinion. My wife agreed. But we are glad we went. Probably won’t go back though.

I laughed with tears in my eyes and rib cramps. My husband and I enjoyed it. We love Rodney. The opener was Matt. He was pretty funny too but I think Rodney should have been there longer.

  • Great show!

The show was great! Kept me laughing the entire time! Usually I’m not thrilled with opening acts but his opener was great as well! Of course the show is for an adult audience that isn’t easily offended, but I highly recommend!

Rodney never disappoints! Your face will hurt from laughing so hard. And as a bonus he sang several of his songs, so a concert too! The intro comic was good as well. Very happy that Rodney still tours.

  • Awesome night with Rodney Carrington

by Jeff C on 1/20/25Julie Rogers Theatre - BeaumontRating: 5 out of 5

I was able to purchase my tickets for Mr Carrington’s show directly through TicketMaster for a very reasonable price. My tickets were front row, almost center stage and came with a VIP Meet and Greet experience after the show. Not only is Mr Carrington super funny on the stage he is super friendly off of it. He took the time to actually carry on a conversation with us and signed 3 Rodney Carrington hats for me. Being a police officer I have had the opportunity to meet celebrities and athletes throughout my career and Mr Carrington is absolutely the best I have ever met. Thanks for a great night !!!!

  • Rodney Carrington Beaumont Texas

I've been to 4 of Rodney Carrington's shows and I think this was the best one. For those not aware the show is definitely adult humor and with that I haven't laughed so much in years! Can't wait until he comes around again. God Bless Rodney Carrington!

  • Performer great - venue not so great

by NA on 1/20/25Julie Rogers Theatre - BeaumontRating: 3 out of 5

The acoustics in the theater were bad and the performer was very hard to understand. I'm sure it was a great performance for those who could understand what he was saying. The acoustic issues combined with the excessive amount of people getting up throughout the show to purchase more alcohol made for an overall unpleasant experience. I would not purchase tickets at this venue again. The show was very short for a comedy show which, had I been able to understand/hear the act, was additionally disappointing. I'd see the performer again in a different venue.
