Rodney Carrington on Tour
One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.
Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.
In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.
Rodney Carrington Background
Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.
After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."
Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.
It was great.... very funny and entertaining show.
opening act was good. Rodney was funny when he came out telled great jokes. Good jokes all night and music was great.
Hilarious! It was everything I hoped for and more!
We had one hell of a time at Rodney's show. He seemed totally unscripted and down right funny as hell. I would definitely reccommend this show to anyone that doesn't have their nose held high in the air at foul language. ;) Great Show!
I did not want the show to end. Rodney is so funny. My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. There never was a time that he couldn't make you laugh. I would go see he over and over again!
show was great for Rodney but the opener wasn't all that well accepted
I have not laugh that hard in a long time. It wasn't just us, everybody was having a great time. We will go see Rodney next time he's in town.
What a great show! The Civic Center wasn't over crowded and the beer was cold! What a tough act to open for, but the comic got the ball rolling. Rodney was great as was his piano player Bob! Enough real life related mixed in with makeup to keep you laughing through the entire show! Great singing and videos. Definatly lived up to my expectations and more! If you love Rondey and have never seen him in person, go to his show! His facial features add so much!
My son and I attended the show and we thought that it was funny and good. We both would recommend the show to anyone. The seating was good. It is nice to get this type of shows in Iowa, so that travel time is limited. Thanks for a good night of laughs and entertainment.
the Rodney Carrington show was good for the most part although I got a little bored with comedians story of Toby Keith whom I am a fan of but it seemed to drag on a bit for me,, started to feel like it was a movie promotion more then a comody show,, I do feel some sound checks were needed when the video's were playing,, (they were to loud to under stand) but I guess it all was a good show and ended well
Rodney was really funny some of the material was old but just seeing him preform it made it fresh. The venue- I will not ever sit in the upper seats again. Talk about cramped. I wish he would have come in to the Kansas City area I had to drive for almost two hours to get to this venue.
Rodney was totally funny! We enjoyed every minute of his show!
Hell of a good time. I would go again, TPAC is a very nice place to go and watch a show. The only problem I had with the night was they ran out of budlight.
I have never laughed so much in my life! Rodney Carrington is the funniest comedian I have ever seen! My face hurt because I laughed so much! Thank you Rodney for a BRILLIANT show! I will make sure to see you again for sure!
We had better seats than what we thought they would be. The whole concert was awesome.
Could have done with out the opening act, but otherwise the show was hilarious!! This is a not to be missed performer. I actually laughed so hard an for so long that I wet myself.
My sides are still hurting from laughing so hard. Just when you think you can't laugh any harder, Rodney drops you another line.
Rodney Carrington was amazing. My husband and I laughed the entire time. We were expecting a good show but this was way better than we expected.
The Rodney Carrington show at TPAC was extreamly funny saturday night. The sound was great and the big screen behind Rodney made it easy to see. I peronally don't think there was a bad seat in the house
I went with a group of friends and we all enjoyed it male and female alike. I really enjoyed how he combines his country singing and his comedy together. He uses references from his own life that others can relate to. It was very funny and I would see him again.
