Rodney Carrington on Tour
One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.
Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.
In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.
Rodney Carrington Background
Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.
After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."
Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.
He had us laughing the ENTIRE performance! We loved it!
Rodney rolled out in the middle of the show. He only performed for an hour and half and the tickets were $50!!! Totally not worth it. He didn't even sing his two best songs -- Tities and Beer and Dear Penis!!!!!!!!! We saw him a couple of years ago and he was great, not sure what happened. Big disappointment.
My wife and i enjoyed Rodney Carrington. We laughed our A** off. Rodney Carrington is a very funny person and we enjoyed every minute of his show.
I had a good time and laughed quite a bit. My husband loved it, Rodney told a lot of jokes about his wife. My husband laughed the whole time and said, "I can relate" . I took him as a birthday gift to him so the fact that he enjoyed himself so much, made it well worth it. I guess Charleston was just a tough crowd because it didn't seem like most of the people laughed as much as we did. From our perspective, it was funny and we would recommend other people see the show.
If you want just plain ole funny pee your pants laugh your hiney off , this show is for you. If you are easily offended and uncomfortable with "adults only" humor, you might want to skip it. Had a great time just laughing, and laughing, and laughing some more. Thanks Rodney for keeping it unreal.
Rodney Carrington was 'no holds barred' as he rocked the NCPAC last night! We laughed until our faces hurt and were thoughful when he sent subliminal messages in voice and song to drive awareness about adoption, adultery, America, and admiration [for his wife]. We're so blessed to live in a country where we can enjoy such in-your-face comedy. Thanks for bringing him to the Lowcountry and please have him back!
The show had me laughing the whole time. Worth the money
Rodney is the greatest! Everythime I see him, I leave hurting from laughing so hard. What a way to spend a Friday night!
When one considers the outrageous pricing of some music concert tickets, a good comedian provides great value for your entertainment dollar. Rodney Carrington is one the best. Not for children!
I like Rodney a lot but he was much better in person. This is one of the best comedy shows I have ever seen, period!!
While there were some parts that were very funny, overall I was disappointed with it. In seeing DVD's of him before, I thought that some the new material was just not as funny. He talked way too much about Toby Keith. His material about his family was much more entertaining. I guess that is because I can relate more to that. The opening act was horrible.
The show was great!!! I was a little disappointed in the length, show started at 7pm, with an opening act & we were out of the theatre by 8:40. But had a good time anyway.
I really enjoyed the show last night. Rodney was hilarious as usual. i would have enjoyed a bit more standup and less of the songs - they were a little too body part minded for my taste. All in all, we had a great time.
We had a great time and great audience, all the staf was great too.
Rodney gave an incredible performance last night. I honestly laughed the entire time he was on stage. The opening act was kind of weak but Rodney definately picked up the slack. He's a must see!
Rodney Carrington is hysterical! I cried I was laughing so hard. No topic is off limits and it is definitely a "mature" audience show. I wish he had not used the F word so much as that's a personal pet peeve of mine, but overall it was thoroughly enjoyable. He has a great voice and his lyrics are priceless.
we haven't laughed that hard in a while. i had no idea Toby Keith was gay...
I bought the tickets for my boyfriend for Christmas. Sat in front of the computer before they went on sale waiting so I could get the good seats. We were about 3 rows back from Rodney and it was great!! So cool to be so close to him and he was an absolute riot! Sooo funny, worth every penny! I would totally go see him again and would even pay more to see him. Loved his comedy and of course his songs!!! :D
The show kept me in stitches the entire time! My husband and I both said that our faces hurt from laughing so much!! I wasn't ready for the show to end after an hour. I do wish it would have lasted longer. Couldn't wait to go on-line to order his cds and videos.
The show was absolutely hilarious. It was our first time going to see Rodney live and I will definitely go see him again when he comes back to Richmond or anywhere close to where we will.
