Rocktopia was a well rehearsed show with excellent musicians, singers and technical talent. The music was reminiscent of my growing up and the melange' of classical and rock was really cool! I attended with my sisters who have a similar musical history as I do, and we all enjoyed the energy and the "show"!
Now, there was one "fly in the soup"... there was a photographer with a GIANT telephoto lens hovering directly in front of the stage, pulling focus away from the performance. Like a gnat hovering in front of your face, he could have taken pictures of the performer's DNA with that huge lens!!
Then, this same photographer plants himself in the opening at the back of the stage, visible to the ENTIRE audience, standing there like "Rainman", completely oblivious to his surroundings and to his affect on the show. It took so much away from the performance, it's beyond laughable.
Where were the Stage monitors & Managers?? Didn't anyone on the tech team watching the show see this guy and radio down to the stage to have him removed?...no, he stood there for 3-4 songs with his camera hanging on his shoulder...RIDICULOUS and a real loss for Rocktopia.
