    Rock of Ages was AWESOME!

    by Brink31 on 4/30/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

What a great show! The talent and energy of the entire cast was amazing, and the whole evening with my daughter was better than I ever anticipated. I have been wanting to see this musical for YEARS, and was definitely NOT disappointed. Our seats were 2nd row center and felt like we were in the show. Also took advantage of the VIP Suite, which made the experience that much more enjoyable from a pampered and convenient point of view. Beyond the drinks & hors d'oeuvres, which were simple yet very nice, the convenience of having a place to hang our coats, as well as access to separate bathrooms and exit, made everything a tad bit more special. Thanks for a great night!

My daughter and I loved the show. She loved the Drew character and I loved the Sherrie character. Shout out to Regina who was awesome after she came out of the stage door and gave us a hug and some love for a job well done! bravo!

    Meh

by JR on 4/30/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

Went a few years ago when it was in town and was blown away. This time around it was less than great. The performers were pretty good but lacked connecting with the audience. The sound wasn't all that great and mics failed for a few performers, especially for Sherrie. Left disappointed.

Good show, second half better than the first

    by erlo33 on 4/28/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

Overall, I would recommend the show. The narrator character was funny, and got funnier as the show progressed. Some of the singing was a little weak, but the main male character was strong.

    Cheesy but fun

by Dancin’ Machine on 4/28/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

Saw ROA the first time through Chicago 10 years ago. This version wasn’t as well done, but maybe because I knew what to expect. First 1/2 of show dragged. The voice of the actor who played Drew was on and off. The female lead was great. The band was good and the narrator was quite comedic, even made fun of himself for being in this musical. All in all, a fun evening. I would have been disappointed if I paid $100+ for a ticket, but enjoyed the music (knew every song) and reminiscing about the glam decade of the 80’s.

Fantastic evening with comical moments music and theatre

by Annette on 4/27/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

The Rock of Ages show was just the perfect mix of theatre play, music and comical contents. There were so many subtle and not so subtle jokes and satiric jokes that made the whole evening a real pleasure. We did laugh so much and the music was just perfectly woven into the story. Fantastic evening that I would repeat in a heartbeat!

    Ugh...

by Biggest Rock of Ages Fan on 4/27/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

I have seen Rock of Ages six times. I am obsessed with the musical and every time I bring someone new so I can go over and over again. I literally think I could see it everyday and cry every time I go. For the 10th Anniversary I thought they would go above and beyond. No llama? Really? So many little things were just different/changed. Why change a good thing? No dog in a tux? No workout clothes during Hit Me with your Best Shot? No nunchucks?? And Lonnie’s look and interpretation of the character totally misrepresented!!! Look at every single Lonnie no matter where the show and then explain this huge misstep on the 10th Anniversary Tour. Ugh...I love Rock of Ages!!!

Don't compare it to the movie!

by MKitt on 3/25/14Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

This was my ninth time seeing this show. I always have a great time. The music takes me back to me younger days and I have been able to introduce my daughter to a little of my adolescence. The cast is always fabulous and seem to really enjoy being on stage. I can hardly wait to see it again!

by mrsaruba96 on 3/22/14Bank of America Theater - Chicago

Dont let the movie scare you away from this show! I saw this on Broadway in NYC and then when saw it was coming to Chicago, NEEDED to go again. The Chicago cast did a terrific job keeping the energy going. I am a total 80s girl so this show is perfect for me. Its a party, rock concert and musical all wrapped into one with a feel good ending. Dont miss it!!

We saw the show a year ago and loved it! When we heard it would be back for 1 week only, we had to jump on it. Im soo glad we did! It was a blast! We loved the story line, the actors, and of course the music! It was cool to see alot of the same actors, and they even added a few new acts to the show. Overall it was a great evening! We would recommend it to anyone who loves music! Good Times! Keep ROCKIN! \m/

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this musical. We had all seen the movie and some of us had seen the play elsewhere. We mostly enjoyed Drew, Lonny and Sherrie. These are very talented individuals. Also we had great seats with no obstructions.
