the songs, the cast, everything was amazing!! I recommend this show to everyone.
Location good & performance Excellent ! All chacters performaned out of my expectation
This show was amazing! We saw it 3 times.Willie sounded just like Martin Short on stage - a complete master.Charlie had an unbelievable voice for a child. The oopa loopa's totally stole the show! The only down side was the kids being played by adults except for Charlie. My group agreed that if they had Augustus and possibly Violet played by a little bit younger adults it would have been perfect, but it didn't take away from the shows Magical quality at all.Definitely a must see!
my favorite song was Vidiots the best part was the intro
We took our 8 year old granddaughter to see this show last weekend and both she and we loved it. It was helpful, but not essential, to be familiar with the story. We especially liked the Oompa-Loompas, but everyone in the cast was excellent.
My 9 year old had a blast, the music was great and the actors were very entertaining. Willie was the bomb and Charlie was so good..... The set was nothing to write home about but the actors more than made up for it. Son was a little set off by the dark endings to all the kids but he understood the point when it was explained to him.
Nostalgically good show of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Entertaining from beginning to end.
Very boring. No focus on the chocolate factory soecial effects.
Loved the show! Especially Little Mike TV and other special effects. Only let down was no Wonka bars! My daughter was planning on getting one - but had to settle for a Twix! And we would have paid to have a picture taken with the Oompa Loompas or other fun characters. Someone really missed the marketing boat here. But the show was GREAT!
Fun and entertaining night. Actors were great. The Boston Opera House was a wonderful venue
Stale show some characters voices were garbled. The show needs something to give it some spark. Or stick a fork in it....
The acting and singing were terrific. The story line was clever, but the spots of downtime were awkward in some spots and we just felt that it seemed more like a local show than a Broadway show. I didnât feel that it should have been billed as a musical because it was was more a play with music.
I figured since this was showing at the Boston Opera house the production would be amazing. Ive seen many ballets/musicals/etc. there and i have alway enjoyed it. The acting was great, i must say. However the lack of set made it feel as if i was watching a school musical not a big production. There were a lot of scenes that had no or little set and you have to image it. I wish i read reviews before attending because others said the same. Overall id say it was okay and i did enjoy it over all, i just expected better.
Was very disappointing with this adaptation did not think it was as entertaining as the original movie. I actually fell asleep. Would not see it again.
I found it off putting that the stage was only 75% viewable. The special affects took up about 25% of the stage. When you spend that much on a ticket, you should be able to see the whole stage. Also, the plot changes for the stage play versus the book version were not well done. They cut out a few key scenes that made the story more entertaining. They cut out characters that made the story run smoothly.
My family and I attended and loved the performance. My children are 9 and 11. The songs, story and scenery kept them both very entertained. Our favorite parts were the demise of the naughty children at the factory and, of course, the oompah loompahs.
Much better than I expected. Great cast, sets and customs.
It was a good show, nothing to spectacular. There wasn't a "wow that was amazing moment" anywhere in the show. Not alot of props used in it to get the full affect if what was going on. Just seemed very average for a big show like that.
Excellent show. Singing was top grade. The stage sets, particularly of the Bucket home, were very well done. Oompa-Loompas were outstanding, though they didn't have the amount of stage time that they did in either of the movie versions.
All good but the umpaloopas were hilarious and absolutely stole the show!!
