  • Great Circus This Year

by SammyGold on 11/2/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

Much improved from past years. I almost didn't go this year because the last seemed dingy and thrown together. This year they clearly got their act together. Everything was shiny and new. The acts were original and thoughtful as was the whole package. It felt like a very traditional circus with no corners cut. There were also some welcome variations on old ideas - new contraptions for the acrobats. A toned down version of the animal acts - which I've always been ambiguous about. And I loved that there was a live circus band performing in the corner. They should have them give a mini concert during the intermission! Crazy expensive for trinkets, of course. We don't buy the toys - just the program and a couple $7 boxes of popcorn and bring our own drinks. Famiy of 4 - just under $200 for tickets, parking, program, and popcorn. Money well spent. We'll be back next year!

The cirus was great! My three year old sat through the whole thing and really enjoyed it! It was a nice event to take the whole family to including grandparents :) Everyone had fun!

  • amazing experience

I went to the circus with my two grandchildren, 19 mos and almost 3. They loved every moment and sat awestruck through the entire performance. The quality of the performance was outstanding. The venue at the Blue Cross Arena was perfect.

  • Top class circus talent

by Stuwe on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

Sights and sounds (and a show of skills) were non-stop and almost too much for our grandchildren ages 5-8 yrs. Gentle suggestions to look here and there were needed but they and their grandparents enjoyed all. Our grands were looking for the elephants, tigers and people shot from the canons. They were impressed by zebras. The non-clown magic got the most attention from our group. Though we never saw clowns walk & perform upside down on the ceiling before, this act did not hold the attention of our young ones. This circus certainly provided family entertainment - a bang for the buck. But $12 bucks for cotton candy and $7 for popcorn a bit much. Bet more would be sold if not adorned with circus novelties to increase prices. Leave the novelties at the souvenir stands where there was a decent selection and decent souvenir price range for young people to choose from. The only disappointment voiced from our grands was that they wished they would have had the opportunity to ride an elephant or have clowns greet them in the lobby (as for other circuses).

  • ok

by mamacircus on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 3 out of 5

very loud and non stop action. We had seats near the front but we had to move during the show to some very small bleachers because our seats were right under the high wire act. The bleachers were quite uncomfy, I am not a big person but I had no room for my legs..partly because of the much bigger people in front of me, but mostly because the bleachers were so small. They tried to make us feel special by calling us celebrity guests, but we would have rather stayed in our original seats. It would have been nice to know this before we picked the location of our seats. The preshow clown school was a wonderful surprise...and the acts in the show were all first rate.

I took my 7, 5, & 2 year old. They were amazed throughout! Their little faces just lit up every time something new happened. I can't wait to go again!

Having grown up with the circus, I was VERY excited to get a chance to relive part of my childhood with my new husband. As I remembered, the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus was very much enjoyable. It's entertaining and funny, and even fun to watch when you're in your twenties with no kidos :) I would definitely recommend this show to anyone, but I will point out that if it's been a few years since you saw the circus (10 for me) be prepared for it to be a little bit different then you remember!

  • Spectacular!

by hottipiotti on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

The show was really great. A lot of wonderful performers who are extremely talented. We all really enjoyed the elephants. Would have really liked to see the motorcycle cage. One thing I would certainly recommend would be that if someone is buying a ticket where their seats will be interuped for part of the show that they are informed at the purchase. We had great seats two rows back but the high wire was set up right at the edge of where we were seated and they gave us what looked like special passes and then when they were ready to use the high wire moved us onto very tight bleachers out in the ring. We did have a very good view of the clowns and such but were interupted while getting the passes and to move so missed pieces of the show we might of otherwise seen better. Overall the show was amazing and we will go to see another one when our son gets a little older as he fell asleep shortly after the second half started :O)

  • Not worth the money

by rachaelk on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 1 out of 5

It was a total waste of money. We went last year and it was wonderful this was offle. Low budget and just a total waste.

  • Not great

by doufus on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 2 out of 5

Not a very great show. A lot of filler between acts where they basically ran the equivalent of an infomercial for stuff you could buy in the lobby. Certainly not the great circus I remember. The pre-show was more fun than the actual circus. The Blue Cross arena is a lousy venue for anything other than a hocky game. Whatever you do - do not buy the expensive seats. the cheaper seats give you a better view.

  • BEST RINGLING SHOW YET

by TIGMAN on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

THE BEST CIRCUS WE HAVE SEEN HERE. WE HAVE BEEN TO THE LAST 4 OR 5 IN ROCHESTER. THE NEW THEME WAS VERY ENTERTAINING AND GOT THE CROWD INTO THE SHOW. THE OPEN FLOOR BEFORE THE SHOW BEGAN WAS A BIG PLUS FOR OUR TWO GRANDSONS. ALL OF THE ACTS WERE TOP NOTCH.

  • This year's circus was better than before!

    by alyssa1222 on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

The Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey circus was amazing this year! My 5 year old son, my 25 year old boyfriend and myself (23) all loved it! We had such fun time watching the show this year. We have been to the circus in the past and loved it, but this year's was more exciting than before!

  • by tonyd1123 on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show. Maybe a little more time dedicated to the lions performance and less with the elephants.

  • Great show for the kids

by Anonymous on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

My little girl absolutely loved this show (age 7), it had all things you expect a circus to be. The magic act is a good addition for the kids. The acrobacts were great and the clowns as always are alot of fun. I could have done without the dance routines they seem a little to hokey for a circus personally but the kids seem to like it. The price for certain things was very high, $19 for cotton candy and popcorn. They do give the kids a wizard had with that but even with that it was way over priced. The spinning lights at $22, you can buy this in a toy store for $5. The best value are the snow cones in cup that can be taken home.

  • Circus was Awesome

Must see! Loved the magic included with the normal circus events.

  • Terrible Experience compared to past

    by jtaylor3406 on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 1 out of 5

Terrible show compared to previous Circus's we have seen. It will be a long time before we go see RB and BB again. We do not reccommentd Zing Zang Zoom-weak,cheesey illusions and poor performances. Some acts were still good most were not worth the money.Paid $50.00 a seat for front row center and my two children had to sit behing fence rail (Only rail in the whole Blue Cross Arena). Ushers would not take them down although no none else in whole Arena had to sit behind them. Save you money-stay home

  • a bad circus

by ginnna on 11/1/10Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 1 out of 5

the show was loud and boring. It was more like a modern dance show. The animal acts were dull and unskilled. The clowns were not funny. The ring master was lame, he looked like the muscian Prince. I want my time and money back.
