    Illuscination is an illusion

    by Nedd1 on 1/10/10Germain Arena - Estero

We go to the circus every year, with last year being the first time at the Germain Arena. Last year's show was truly a "kids program" and my then 3 year old enjoyed the whole show (as did the adults (4 of us). This year he was bored the entire first half of the show, as the acts were not very interesting or funny. The second half was a bit better, but we were all disappointed compared to past circuses.

    Disappointed

by Skeech on 1/10/10Germain Arena - Estero

I expected more animals. A lot of errors occured. Not enough entertaining acts. Many were just stupid.

The circus was lots of fun!

    by Mama4boys on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

My family really had a lot of fun at the circus. We enjoyed the elephants the most. The parking was fine (close enough) and it looked as though the viewing would have been good from any seat. The acrobatics were wonderful also. The lions were appropriately a little scary. The "clowns" were funny. It was everything a circus event should be-without the tent and the rain.

    Illuscination Is A Must See!

by KLJonesy on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

I took my kids ages 8 & 3 to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus: Illuscination and it was great. The kids were fascinated and I was amazed. Lots of action going on and they never stopped performing. My son liked the clowns especially when they were fighting over instraments and the iPod. My daughter liked the elephants. A definite must see for the entire family.

    PT Barnum where are you?

by Capeclown on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

i went looking forward to a nostalgic. old time Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus extravaganza. Instead I saw a low budget, ameturish Cirque de Solei wannabe show. The acts were somewhat unispiring. The lion tamer show was very short, and they did very little. Nothing to make you say "wow". The high wire act was at about six feet, and they stumbled and missed their jumps on several occassions. The elephant act was okay, but too short. There were a couple of highlights...the spiky haired kid doing his boom box skit was funny, and the acrobats doing the flips was good too. This circus has been known as the "Greatest show on earth" but tonight it wasn't even the greatest show in Estero.

    Not for young children

by AlexNick on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

I would not recommend Illuscination for young children. I took my son to the Ringling Bros circus the last time they were in town and it was wonderful, so I eagerly bought tickets to this show. I was very dissapointed in the difference. I did not know this was mostly a magic show aimed at adults or I never would have bought tickets. I don't think this should be advertised as a circus since this is very misleading.

    Hmm

by MissAnubis on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

The tight rope walker fell, the mini horses wandered, the acrobat missed, and the lionesses snapped at the tamer. The kung fu practioners were the best part; the magic tricks were decent. Perhaps it was because it was one of the first nights, and the later performances will improve.

    Illuscination Amazed!

by BluesCop on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

This evening was truly amazing... likely the finest value Iv'e encountered in the past several decades. Great seats, wonderful environment, and over two hours of non-stop daredevils, gymnasts, martial artists, aerial acrobatics, magic, big cats, comedy, elephants..and way more! All this performed to incredible perfectly timed & executed choreography with a great live band! Our "too hip"thirteen year old was enthralled, mesmerized, dazzled & entertained by those who are probably the hardest working performers in America...

    Fun

by kidsrock on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

Full of fun and excitement. The only problem we had was we had the side view and we were up high in the bleachers. The whole show was geared for the people directly in front of them. Also felt that the wow factors was taken away from being so high up. We have been to the show in the past with lower seats and seemed much more amazing watching everything from a lower angle. With that said, the performers and animals were awesome! It is a must see, just be careful of your seating.

    Amazing

by okmusic on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

The circus was wonderful! It was well organized, east to find our seats. My daughter enjoyed being able to go down front before the show and "play" with the performers. We really had a great time. This was the first time my 7-year old had ever been to the circus and she absolutely loved everything!

    Circus was Great!

by Braceletbabe on 1/9/10Germain Arena - Estero

Although it wasn't the 3 ring Ringling Bros Barnum and Bailey circus of the past, it was a wonderful evening of magic, fabulous animal acts and talented circus performers. We had a great evening and look forward to their show next year.

    Last year was better

by TheGodmother on 1/8/10Germain Arena - Estero

Honestly the performance we saw last year was better. My 4 yr old didn't enjoy the magic tricks and although some few parts of it were great, overall it seemed like it wasn't quite as professional or the calibur of Ringling Bros that we've grown accustomed to.

    Good show, but worst seats...

by Morskaya on 1/8/10Germain Arena - Estero

My mom,Grandma and me went to this show yesterday.. so I have fresh memories :) We really liked show, but we were seating on Section 109... that's the worst seats possibly could be. it is not real circus, so it's not round, and they put some kind of "walls" , so you can not see show really good from this section... choose different seats ! But performance is really good !!! We loved acrobats, really small pony, guys who were jumping thru rings ring with knifes and fire! Enjoy the show !

The best family event we've attended in years!

by ArmyBuckley on 1/8/10Germain Arena - Estero

First of all, thanks to the best manager of Ringling/Barnum! Great Army man - sooo professional as is his assistant! The magician, his gorgeous counter-part, the elephant trainer, the lion trainer, the hoot of a comedian (such a young CUTE guy my daughter wanted to him! The entire acrobatic team, the The Chiese Martial Artists, the team of gymnaists, and on-and-on including all the stage hands who did such a great display, the tall beautiful red head acrobatist.... I could go on forever! All these workers professionals were the happiest people as a group -I was honored to see such a spectacular event and mesmerizing performance after performance! Germain Arena, executives, workers, set-up, seating, box office, venders - My Lord, I thank God and the USA for helping to keep America our Country!

    Circus

by Anonymous on 1/8/10Germain Arena - Estero

The "circus arena" was too confined. More showing of the animals would have been nice. There was too much focus on Latino dance and the clown antics. The "high wire" act was at eye level and the performers were not confident. One fell. Over-all, lacked the professionalism of the old days.

    Not very impressed

    by bshaw1025 on 1/8/10Germain Arena - Estero

It was a one ring circus. The music did not flow. They seemed to rely on two songs for the entire show: "Boob, Boom, Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas, and "Single Ladies" by Beyonce. There was no running theme. Everything seemed scattered. The pre-show was great for the kids. My daughter enjoyed it a lot. The last time I saw a circus was many years ago. I was sure the performance would improve in those years. I was very wrong. I was hoping Ringling Brothers would knock my socks off. They didn't come close. I give it 3 stars only because the pre-show for the kids was fun for me too.
