A composer of the highest caliper!

by Rick on 4/6/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

I have seen Rick a number of times, with the full complement of Yes and then with various members, never as a solo artist but He did not disappoint. He is truly a Wizard at the keyboards although he wasn't wearing one of his ornate capes. He talked to the audience between pieces but I'm sure he would have rathered just continued to play on. I'm glad he did speak as he was quite funny and spoke of how certain pieces came to him. All in all a wonderful concert and if you are a Prog fan,you should see him as soon as you can!

The feel of immersiveness and belonging. Wish the show’d have lasted longer!

    An Incredible Talent

by Thompson on 4/6/23The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

An amazing musical performance mixed in with some of that "I can't believe he just said that" Wakeman humor. I've been a Wakeman fan for 50 years, yet I was still taken by the depth of his talent. Go see him!

    Excellent setting and show

by vinbis1@comcast.net on 4/5/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Enjoyed the music, the man, and the stories. All good except for the women sitting in front of me with the pineapple hairdo, who could be related to Ray Charles, as her head swayed back and forth the while concert.

    A Must See!!!

by Bob-oo on 4/5/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

This is probably my second or third time seeing Rick perform like this. He is a one man comedy show plus one of the most incredible keyboard players on the planet. The great thing about these shows is that they are usually in smaller venues so it is more of an intimate evening with the artist. If you are a YES fan or just a music appreciation fan, you will not be disappointed in attending one of Rick's shows.

A dream - from a passionate for Rick Wakeman's music

by Natalí de Santi on 4/5/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

It was my first time experiencing Rick playing and it was amazing. Because I am from Brazil this kind of experience is pretty hard and I was able to see one of the best keyboard/pianist player's of the whole world performing his best music. Because I got the VIP ticket I was able to chat with Rick and have a short face-to-face experience in the photo time. Besides, the theater was amazing. It is just important to notice that the first row is not the best spot to enjoy the concert because the seats are in a low level, which makes hard to see the whole stage.

    The Maestro

by Jsjaxn on 4/4/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Great show, just a bit shorter than I would expect from a man with 50 - 60 years of music. Acknowledge he’s getting up there in age but if McCartney can do 3 hrs at his age then Rick can give us at least 2.

Master at the Piano with Soulful Stories

by Tes on 4/4/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

What a treat to see him fly over the keys to paint his pictures with his music. Deserves to be up there telling his Wonderous stories. From Cat Steven’s to Yes to David Bowie. How fortunate we were to hear him play in such an intimate venue.

    Humorous and Sonorous

by Boog on 4/4/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

A raconteur and gifted musician graced the stage Saturday night. His sharing of family stories was never precious or rambling. His choice of pieces to perform was well balanced. I was never bored. This was a fine, just-long-enough show.

    Mind Blowingly Good

by SlipperySlope on 4/4/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Absolutely amazing show. Rick Wakeman hasn't lost a step. Seeing him solo really makes it obvious what a huge part he's played in the musical landscape of the last many decades. Don't hesitate to go if you have the chance. Also, Wellmont Theater is really a nice venue with good acoustics, a convenient location near parking, and multiple bars beneath the balcony.

by Henry on 4/4/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

A truly wonderful and highly entertaining show! I loved Rick Wakeman’s personality, and how he shared it with his audience. A funny guy! He is simply a virtuoso on the keyboards.

4 ex wives and 13 grandchildren later

by Pimo on 4/4/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Amazing show- his tenure as a talk radio host in the U.K. has endowed him with a well seasoned gift of gab that he artfully deploys with great comedic timing. He played his mix of contributions to the Rock Masterpieces of Cat Stevens, David Bowie and Yes. He even shared new songs and his favorites from his solo works- amazing talent still shining brightly even tho he is 73. Would see again and again - if you like him at all you will love the show.

    Amazingly great show!

by Scott from Chalfont on 4/3/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic City

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have tix for the sound check, meet and greet, and pics. We found Mr. Wakeman to be a personable, witty, and a warm individual more than we ever expected! I told him YES was my first concert at the Spectrum in Philadelphia in 1977. He replied that it was the Going for the One album tour, that he loved the Spectrum, he cried when the tour it down and it should have been the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cheers to that! The show was amazing he mixed his music with jokes, riddles, and stories that engaged the audience the entire time. He and his show far exceeded my expectations. I won’t miss another opportunity to spend an evening with Rick Wakeman!

    Quite entertaining

by Geoph on 4/3/23The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

It's hard to believe a one-man show could be so entertaining but he was great. Of course his piano/ keyboard work is sublime, but I also loved hearing the stories about his work and life, and the hilarious jokes attributed to his grandchildren. I had no idea he wrote and performed the piano part of Cat Stevens's "Morning Has Broken" or that he did the keyboards ("mellotron") on Bowie's "Space Oddity" LP. All more tributes to his greatness. And that suit with the iridescent orange, red and blue stripes created a bit of a visual feast.
