    Greatest keyboardist ever!

by Gar on 3/23/24The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

As a huge fan of Yes in the middle 70’s, Rick Wakeman was a pivotal part of their sound, with his electric piano & synthesizer and music writing abilities. But deep inside was a Beethoven type composer and concert pianist, that was on full display at the Wellmont! I highly advise all of you to listen to him share his musical life through stories and give your ears and brain a treat with his musical abilities!

The show was amazing! My husband and I had a great time at the Wellmont on Wednesday night! Rick Wakeman was as sharp and skilled as ever.

    Hope it's not his last

by Rockdoctor on 3/23/24The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Since Rick announced that it was his last US tour in 2006 when he was 60, But I saw his solo tour in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024. Not counting his the tour with Jon Anderson and ARW. He is 77 but he is still kicking strong. With the same songs, he plays totally differently, makes different jokes. I hope he tours with all his band and Adam next time.

Another performer off of my bucket list

by Scott L. on 3/23/24The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

I was sitting in the third row Center orchestra, Rick Wakeman was everything I thought he would be and more! The master of the keyboards, and with the selections he played, especially Yessonata just blew everyone away.

    Don’t sit in front row

by Jeff on 3/23/24The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Rick was incredible We had front row (AA) seats and they sucked - we basically got to watch Ricks head but couldn’t see his hands The Wellmont needs to remove the front 2 rows in front of the stage

    Legendary, musician Rick Wakeman

by Daveh on 4/16/23Mickey's Black Box - Lititz

Rick has been my favorite musician bar none since he first came on the scene with the Straubs then with YES. I was heavily into the progressive rock style coming out of a deep blues, jazz mix. I am not saying he was the best of his era, but I resonated with him and his style. Mickey Tait said about Rick Wakeman, Rick was bigger than YES because of his broad, music ability that couldn't be defined just by YES music. Rick acknowledges that he loved YES, and always felt integral to their style, but also had other musical art to explore. As far as his show at Mickey's on Lititz, I was absolutely classic Wakeman in familiar setting as he came to Lititz often to rehearsals with YES at Clair Brothers Sound International. So he was quite comfortable at the meet and greet session. But then Rick has such a friendly manner that makes him a charm. The show was great, the sound was great, and after the show there was so much happy energy coming from the attendees. I was blest to be there and part of the event. Absolutely great. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of a historical event.

Rick Wakeman at Mickey’s Black Box, Lititz, PA

by Dan on 4/16/23Birchmere - Alexandria

Awesome venue, can be changed between padded theater style seating, and open, flat floor depending on the show. Excellent sound system. It was cool getting to see Mickey Tait introduce Rick while reflecting back on their time on the road together during Rick’s multiple tenures with Yes. As far as the show goes, Rick continues to amaze. At age 73, his playing is incredible. Each time I’ve seen him perform, I left with the feeling that I just saw one of the best keyboardists on the planet perform, and how fortunate I was to experience it.

    The joy of Rick Wakeman

by BIP56 on 4/16/23Mickey's Black Box - Lititz

Rick Wakeman is truly a treasure. Not only is he an extremely talented musician but the stories of his life and music told between songs were so interesting, entertaining and humorous. I must add that the venue, Mick’s Black Box, in Lititz, Pa is stunning. It is so intimate and unique. The seats are so comfortable it was like enjoying a concert in my own home! The fact that we were watching Rick perform made it the perfect evening.

    Rick at Mickey's

by Classic/Progressive Rock Fan on 4/16/23Mickey's Black Box - Lititz

Great solo keyboard/percussionist show with humor between bits. First visit to Mickey's BB that opened in 2021 according to the net. Rick played his solo work, David Bowie, Yes and Beatles tunes and his signature Cat Stevens song 'Morning Has Broken'. Performance, location and Rick's personal touch were fantastic. 90 minutes went by so fast-much enjoyed.

    Close to the Edge Reinvented.

by Rikksy on 4/8/23The Paramount - Huntington

Just a very entertaining evening. Wakeman’s virtuosity was, as expected, incredible. His humorous witticisms were surprisingly well received and a critical way to stitch together a solo presentation that otherwise would have lacked substance and context. Loved every minute of his show!

The concert was a delight. Touching on music throughout his career and some of his pleasant wit. I would recommend this show.

    Grandpa Grumpy the rockstar

by TomW on 4/8/23The Paramount - Huntington

It looks s not a concert it is the Rick Wakeman show! He tells great stories of his years in music and shares his grandchildren’s jokes. I love that he had the 2 electric keyboards with him as well.

Although this performance was a little shorter than his usual show, it's a privilege to see Rick Wakeman play.

Rick was witty, down to earth, like an old friend!

by axbucxdu on 4/7/23The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

We purchased the Meet & Greet package. The Meet portion was the privilege of a Q & A discussion with Rick for nearly an hour. He would have kept on, but had to be moved onto the photo session by his management. Otherwise, I think he would've been willing and able to keep going with us. The back and forth certainly held our interest, I believe it did his as well. Then we had the opportunity for photos on stage with him. No hint from him here either, of a chore - our pictures proved that. He's a good sport! He then played one song for our group, but it had a special meaning for my brother and I. During the Q&A my brother had asked him about the recording of Birdman Of Alcatraz, it was a special treat that Rick picked that song to play! The concert itself was played to an enthusiastic full house. During the hour and a half or so that he played, told stories, and cracked jokes, it was all pretty fast paced - there was never a dull moment with him on stage. His music ranged from his catalogue, to Yes of course, Cat Stevens, David Bowie, and The Beatles. The show as great, Rick was very personable and humorous throughout. I definitely recommend the experience if you get the chance. I know we hope to in the future. Thanks again, Rick!
