I went in knowing this wasn't YES so while I was excited it didn't set high expectations. It was beyond any expectations I could have set. The music was fantastic (kinda expected) and Rick is a really funny guy (totally unexpected). Glad we got to see him solo.
Attended Rick's Grumpy Old RockStar show and it was really fabulous! It's not like any other "rock" show you've experienced. Rick's superb musicianship is on display, he's one with the piano like no one else in "rock" and "prog rock". He adds to this a supreme sense of humor and provides many very funny stories and jokes in between songs. A completely enjoyable and memorable show. Don't miss it is my strong advice.
I never realized just how talented a piano player Rick was/is until I saw him play the piano live in front of me. His fingers were just flying over the keys like the most accomplished concert pianist you can imagine. Seeing him perfom live in Yes never conveyed the extent of his talent. You need to see him by himself with just a Steinway Grand and you will be impressed. Plus, he is hysterical. He punctuates his solos with jokes and stories that will crack you up. And since he has worked with many of the greatest in his generation, it is fun to hear tales of other rockers first hand from Rick who knew/knows them well.
What a down to earth star. Great show. Can't wait for ARW to come back.
Rick Wakeman is an absolute beast on the keys. The stories he told were hilarious and the whole show was very unique. Can't wait to see his show again!

Rick Wakeman is the greatest musician on the planet. He's also hilarious, telling great stories about friends and family. He's like a gracious host entertaining his company.

I saw his last solo tour and enjoyed not only his music but also the jokes and humor interjected between peices. The only negative thing was I always enjoyed watching his hands work magic but Piano was tilted and we couldn't see.
