About

Rick Ross on Tour

When performing, the boss of Miami trades his unassailable cool for shouting and sweat. Stalking the stage in sunglasses, Ross performs hit after hit, touching on solo tunes like "Hustlin'" and "B.M.F.," which helped transform modern hip-hop, to the collabs he's done with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, French Montana, Ace Hood and Skrillex. A rap superstar, Rick Ross has performed at Rolling Loud, Wireless Festival, Made in America, OVO Fest and at gigs across Europe and Africa. In 2011 he toured as part of Lil Wayne's I Am Music II tour and in 2019 headlined his own Port of Miami 2 tour.

Rick Ross in Concert

A titan of outsize boasts, booming bass and trunk-caving hits, Rick Ross is a hip-hop icon with one of the genre's most reliable and formidable discographies. Raised in Carol City, Florida, the artist born William Leonard Roberts II was writing and performing rhymes as early as junior high but ultimately shined as a high school football star. Working with Miami indie label Slip-N-Slide Records, he emerged as Rick Ross in 2002. After then signing to Def Jam, he became an ambassador of trap music with his bold single "Hustlin'" and platinum-certified debut Port of Miami in 2006. Ross would ultimately record with a who's who of hip-hop — Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj — and remain a consistent, bosslike presence through more than a decade of evolving hip-hop trends. His Maybach Music Group imprint helped exploding rappers like Meek Mill, Wale, French Montana and Gunplay. In 2016, he would even take a small detour into EDM with "Purple Lamborghini," a Skrillex collaboration that became the lead track on the soundtrack to Suicide Squad. In 2019, Ross released his 10th album, Port of Miami 2, also the 10th record in a row to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.

It started off w/ a few up and coming artist aome better than others. I'm guessing they were the "and Friends"..dont expect any major celebrities. I'm a huge Rick Ross fan so whenn he did the old songs to the new I was definitely rocking w/ him. His set was about 1 hr and he worked the crowd the whole time. He even gave away a few of his sweat towels (if your into that sort of thing lol). Overrall was a really great time.

by kingW on 11/8/10Paradise Theater - BronxRating: 2 out of 5

biggest ross fan and we've been waiting for him to go on tour for years, but concert was a LETDOWN. line was ridiculously long and unorganized (2 hour wait). And most importantly the show was barely an hour. for the price charged for tickets it would have been nice if there was a more of a show or maybe a legit opener if ricky couldn't handle the workload or at least some guest appearances. didn't play classics like mafia music, maybach music I & II or free mason.

I thought the show was Off the Hook. This was the first concert i have been to this year. So it was well worth the wait. The ticket price was descent also, lately ticket prices are up threw the roof, so this show was on time.

  • Rick Ross & Friends

by lcren on 10/19/10Richmond Coliseum - RichmondRating: 1 out of 5

I was quite disappointed in the show. It started at 7:00 with what seemed to be local acts and Rick Ross came on for about 1/2 hr - 45 min and was just ok... then back to the no name acts. Finally JadaKiss came on about 10:30 till 11:00 - he did a great job. There was so much delay between acts that I felt like I had paid to watch the DJ... The whole crowd was sitting most of the time and even started booing... Felt like amateur nite.

Ricky Rose truly did rock the house... his show was energectic and non-stop from top to bottom....only down-side was waiting for the show to actually start....Bun's legendary status spoke for itself and Ross is not far behind...Great show gentlemen..next time Ricky I want to see "30 cars and whole lot dancers"

on top of the show not starting on time, the crowd control was terrible. i was a bit confused to the order of the show. still trying to figure out why Plies ended the show. Fabolous was cool. There were some key songs that he didn't do. Rick did a good job, but the combination of the DJ's along with Ross' set forced me to hear B.M.F about 3 times that night. It's pretty much what i expected for a rap concert. Concerts like this make me truly appreciate The Roots, Jay-Z, etc. Artist that put on a production not a party.
