Rich Brian In Concert

From overnight YouTube sensation to the face of emerging Asian hip-hop, Brian Imanuel, better known as Rich Brian, has had a devoted fan base at his concerts since his debut U.S. Tour, Come to My Party. On the mic, the 19-year-old Indonesian rapper brings one part comedic banter in the shade of his idol Childish Gambino, and another part emotive wordplay layered atop dense, rhythmic production. Musically speaking, Brian's stage is stripped down to the old-school DJ and MC setup, but he flashes his tongue-in-cheek personality and distinct stylistic flair at every turn. A notably strong performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden saw Brian remove a trench coat to reveal a snakeskin tuxedo, as he danced through "Cold" with pizzazz. The moment served as an apt representation of who he is as an artist: More than just a product of the digital age, he's a face of hip-hop's global appeal. He's headlining the 88 Degrees & Rising Tour, leading the charge on a loaded lineup of Asian hip-hop's best young rappers, all on the 88 Degrees label.

Rich Brian Background

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, in 1999, Rich Brian learned to speak English watching YouTube clips and studying the deliveries of rappers like Macklemore, Kanye West, and Childish Gambino. When he was still known as Rich Chigga, he broke through with the viral video for his single "Dat $tick," which gained the attention of the rap community and has since clocked up over 100 million views. A name change, a record deal, and a move to Los Angeles later, Rich Brian's debut LP, ‘Amen,' peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard 200. Now under his belt Brian has an Indonesian Choice Awards Breakthrough Act of the Year accolade, collaborations with other artists including 21 Savage, Ghostface Killah, and Diplo, and a claim to the title of first Asian artist to hit No. 1 on the iTunes hip-hop charts.

The best shows are GA hands down the venue (Rebel) was so small and cozy I made so many friends and got real close to the stage. I love his voice love this man REAL SINGING you can see he's alittle shy which makes it damn impressive that he's on stage. Sick outfit too dude let me know where I get that jumpsuit.

Got to the show a little later than expected. Security was nice and quick and House of Blues employees were very helpful. Rich Brian was everything I would have hoped for him to be and more. Love that at this venue, you can see the stage clearly from anywhere!

Atmosphere was amazing. The people ushering and helping out were nice, the music was loud but not too loud. The floor was literally shaking the entire time and the Artist of course 100/10 amazing.

  • Great Show

by Lianne on 10/16/19The Fillmore Silver Spring presented by Cricket Wireless - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing! The only complaints I have are the opening acts seemed to run a bit long. I was also worried because the security team seemed a bit small for the venue. Once the supervisor called more security to the barricade I felt a lot more comfortable.

  • Great performers Great music

Don Krez, August 08 & Rich Brian were all amazing. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the opening acts but they really knew how to hype up a crowd and interact. Brian was super nice during the meet & great. He thanked everyone for coming to the show and overall just seemed like a genuine person. When he went in stage the crowd went wild. It’s super dope to see how much the fans love him and support him. Cant wait to see him again at a bigger venue. He packed The Fillmore and Iknow he can fill up a bigger one.

  • AMAZING Performer

Rich Brian absolutely killed it. I was so impressed with his live band, and his rapping and singing. He performed a great combo of old and new hits from his The Sailor album. Also loved hearing from August 08.
