In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway… and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s RENT continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. And now, this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning masterpiece returns to the stage in a vibrant 20th anniversary touring production. A re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters—love.

The musical was wonderful. It was a great night. The crowd knew the music. It did not feel dated given that its a 20 year old musical
This show is not to be missed. Amazing talent and stage presence in all performers. No one could ever forget this incredible event. Go see it. Go see it. Go see it!
I saw Rent when it first opened in NY in 1996. It was a phenomenal show then and 20 years later it is still the same wonderful, touching show. I am so pleased that no one tried to update it. Word for word still the same show. This cast was amazing, their voices sent chills down my spine
The fluidity of this show is amazing! On the edge of your seat good!
This may not have been one of my favorite performances of Rent, but it was pretty good. I always love to see Rent whenever it comes to town - my favorite musical of all time!
I go to a lot of musicals, but this one will stay with me a long long time
I have seen Rent several times in the past 20 years. This was right up there as one of the best. Casting for Mark was dead on. David Merino was an energetic Angel.
Fantastic show, acting was great and song / harmonies were even better!
My husband and I saw the movie years ago so we knew the story. This play was well choreographed and the music was very good. It was hard to understand some of the singing because the background music was a little too loud and some of the singing was scream singing (which we realize is necessary for the parts of the story). Other than that, it was a great production and enjoyable to watch.
Don't miss Rent while it is here. It captures a point in our history and New York's history perfectly. This misunderstood disease, the attitudes, the confusion all comes to life in song.
The show was great! The music was electric and kept the audience cheering.
I love RENT. I've seen the show a few times. This production wasn't my favorite. The sound wasnt great. A couple of my friends didn't know the story and were completely lost. Disappointed
Cast was sub-par. None of the lead actors were particularly memorable singers.
This musical is so wonderful that I would recommend it regardless of the cast. Unfortunately, in this particular production, I found the cast pretty weak, with no standout performances and overall mediocre singing. Doesn't matter, though. Rent is now a period piece that speaks to its time and mindset better than any other work, and it is a masterpiece.
This show was amazing. Every second of the show had me at the edge of my seat!
I saw Rent on Broadway when during its first year and loved it just as much this week as I did 25 years ago. I highly recommend seeing the performance to anyone. The music, the story and the characters are wonderful!
Overall we were very impressed with this production of Rent. Great voices, great casting! My only complaint was that at times the band was louder than the voices making it hard to follow. In a full musical you need to hear all words to follow the plot well, and as first time Rent watchers, we needed those words we couldn't hear! But again, overall, we greatly enjoyed the performance and would recommend!
We saw RENT opening night! It was OUTSTANDING!!! It was my SEVENTH time seeing RENT on stage as it is my favorite! Great job! Highly recommend!
If you do not go in SD you are missing out My son and I were in awe I have seen this 4 times and this was the best cast Angel was a hottie
