Red Hot Chilli Peppers on Tour
To many, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are more than just a Los Angeles rock band from the '80s -- they're musical pioneers who took the world by storm with their eclectic blend of funky, alternative punk rock laced with hip-hop that sounded unlike anything anyone had heard before. The band first formed in Los Angeles in 1983 and quickly gained a following large enough to sell 300,000 copies of their debut self-titled album. Over the next few years, the band experimented with different musical genres and went through lineup changes, proving themselves to be one of the most innovative and resilient rock groups in recent history. In 2022, the Grammy-winning band released Unlimited Love -- their 12th studio album and first one with original guitarist John Frusciante since 2006's Stadium Arcadium. Celebrating the release of the new album, the band hit the road for a global tour featuring all four original members -- vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and Frusciante. Be sure to see this legendary ensemble back in action performing classic hits and new songs by grabbing tickets to see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in a city near you today.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers Live in Concert
In 1987, Red Hot Chili Peppers were named Band of the Year by LA Weekly, but the band really hit their stride with their fourth album, 1989's Mother's Milk, which cracked the Billboard 200 and went gold a year later. The RHCP had earned worldwide recognition by the time they dropped Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991). The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and the album's first single, "Give It Away," took off like wildfire, soaring to the top of the charts and eventually winning the band a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal in 1993. The album also featured the single "Under the Bridge," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- their highest-charting single to date. To promote what some might call the Red Hot Chili Peppers' magnum opus, 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, three of the era's biggest bands -- Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam -- joined the Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour as opening acts. Whenever it was time for the headlining set to come on, seeing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in concert would always feel like an invigorating burst of energy for all the people packed into sold-out stadiums. Their funk-rap breakdowns, animated stage presence, and minimal clothing attire offered relief from the brooding grunge of the punk-metal status quo. All in all, Blood Sugar Sex Magik was a tremendous commercial success, selling 12 million copies to date, cinching the #186 position on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 500 Albums of All Time, and winning three out of the seven MTV Music Award nominations it received.
The band made the Rolling Stone Top 500 list a second time with Californication (1999), their seventh studio album and most successful yet with 16 million copies sold. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers supported the album on tour for two consecutive years at sold-out venues across the world. The album lit a californi-craze for the RHCP that has burned steady since. The first live album, recorded during a 2004 Red Hot Chilli Pepper concert in Hyde Park, was the No. 1 event of the year on Billboard's Top Concert Boxscores with a record-breaking number of 258,000 fans and a total of over $17 million in tickets sold in the span of three nights.
Since then, they've been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2012), released a handful of more albums: 2006's Stadium Arcadium, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200; 2011's I'm With You, which hit No. 2; and 2016's The Getaway, which also peaked at No. 2.

Hershey is a great venue with free parking. Peppers were good if you like them.
The performance was awesome! But they only played a little over an hour, which was disappointing. I would not recommend the Hershey Stadium venue. The way they funneled people in and out of the stadium took a long time and the set up of the venue was very confusing to navigate. Not ideal if there would have been an emergency to leave.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers band sounded good however the singer cut lyrics and notes short which was disappointing considering they played for less than two hours and the tickets were around 400 dollars. Hershey park stadium is the absolute worst venue I’ve ever been at. They have done little or no renovations to the venue and parking arrangements in the past 25 years. There aren’t enough restrooms or vendors for the amount of people that were there. The show was done before 10 and we weren’t able to leave the parking lot until 11:30. Unacceptable. Highly don’t recommend going to this venue
Fan since 91 and never saw them live. Incredible and videos don’t do this show any justice. Venue was horrible experience and I won’t go back there though.
Show was good but they only played 15 songs… was home by 10:30 pm
Chili Peppers played a great - but short - set. Stadium isn’t fit for that kind of crowd. Whoever decided to have a single opening in the fence between the bleachers and field should be fired. The fence shouldn’t be there at all. Lines were ridiculously long. Gonna take a lot to get me back in this place.
The band ROCKS as always. The set was a bit short compared to their other shows we've seen and wecwere wishing for more old faves, but even in a boot Anthony puts on a great show. Flea is amazing, Chad is the best and John was his usual intense self. Hoping for more shows in the area in the future! The venue vibe wasn't the greatest, sadly. Really odd, one entrance/exit, long queues and a long walk to park across a highway! Was hoping for better access to merch. Maybe next show. Will LOVE the RHCP's forever.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are still Hot. For members being in their 60’s they still run around the stage like youngsters. Flea even walked across the stage on his hands when they came out. All and All it was an excellent performance.
The Chili Peppers didn't sound great. The vocals were off. Didn't sound like they were having the best night. But the real fun was it taking over 90 minutes to get out of the parking lot. The band barely played as long as it took to leave.
I gave them five stars because they are my Peppers and I love them. I usually see them in the pit, but the pit tickets were way more expensive than they used to be – five times the price of a ticket on the ground. Because the seating sucked at the venue and the chairs were too close to each other, and the people were so large in front of me. I couldn’t see anything but the telescreens. That’s not the Peppers’ fault - the venue jammed too many seats together. RHCP were excellent as always - they should have played 2 more songs to make it a full concert that I’m used to. It would’ve been great to have heard two more of their classic songs like “Under the Bridge” and “Suck My Kiss.”
The band came on around 8:15 and it was difficult to say if there were audio issues with Anthony's mic or if his voice was just shot and giving out on him, but many times the vocals cut out. The biggest disappointment came with the setlist and how short the concert was. They easily missed playing 3-4 of the bigger hits which isn't necessarily the end of the world but it was surprising. As mentioned previously, they were onstage around 8:15 and the concert was over at 9:45. I am not sure that I have ever seen a headline act play for a shorter amount of time in my 40 plus years of going to concerts. I think most people in the venue were surprised to say the least when the house lights came on.
RHCP played less than their opener and didnt play some of my favorite songs (Under the Bridge, Scar Tissue, Breaking the Girl)
Chili pepper killed it like always, can wait for next tour
I love the chili peppers and have seen them before. They played too many slower songs which killed the vibe. And the Hershey Park venue sucks for seating and getting out. Not the best experience!
Another great show by RHCP! Seemed like they were a little off in the beginning of the show and sound was a little off, but it came together quickly! I'm sure they are beyond tired since they've been on tour for some time now! Always a wonderful show!
Dont get me wrong - I definitely enjoyed the show. I get the concept of always leave them wanting more but RHCP went overboard with this idea. I understand they have a very large catalog of music and ya can't plat them all but they seemed to not want to give their best effort.
First time seeing RHCP with my wife. Drove 2 1/2 hours from NJ and spent a night in PA. The songs were great, but expected a lot more other popular hits. The worst part was how short it was. I don’t think it lasted an hour and a half.
The band sounded great with the exception of the singer. It was difficult to understand the lyrics and he did not seem to be into it. Furthermore, the band only played for 90 minutes and did not play many of their hits. This is completely unacceptable for a band of its stature and the high cost of the ticket. The opener Saint Vincent was great and clearly better than the RHCP on this night. The venue was excellent.
The sound quality was awful. The stadium is much too small for that many people. Not enough bathrooms. Under th stadium was legitimately frightening, with the amount of people, lack of space and 0 crowd control. Seriously dangerous and a tragedy waiting to happen.
