    Real Madrid Disappointment

by operachickie on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

I paid a good amount of money for tickets and was disappointed that my favorite players were not there. Also, everything was disorganized. We couldn't hear any of the announcements, parking was a nightmare, and they waited until 6pm to begin allowing fans into the stadium.

Missed 4/5 of the game because of traffic

by AngryKC on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

I am so upset, because I missed practically the whole game due to traffic. It took me 3 hours to get to the stadium and this included creative driving on my part. I spent over 150 dollars for this event and practically missed the whole game. I expected traffic so I left 1.5 hours early, but it took me 3 hours! I really hope I can get a refund.

I can only rate the operationl retardation of the will call process as this is all I was gifted for my ~$45.00. My painful and bunched eveining started at 7:45 in the will-call line in where I stood for approximately one hour without moving more than 10 feet. During this time the first half of the game expired, and I extremely disappointed, angered and hungry left for home. I feel that my hard earned money and evening was stolen.

    A bust

by ciaobella58 on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Traffic was horific. Left home with more than enough preceived time (2 hours). Didn't even get to Candlestick until after 9:00pm

Worst Sporting Event I have been too!

by Anonymous on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Buying my tickets off of ticketmaster was easy compared to getting into the Real Madrid game. I got to the game maybe 30 minutes before it start expecting some will call lines, but not what was actually there. I walk up to a massive unorganized blob of people. I tired to stand in a line according to my last name, but people placing themselves to where they could get ahead in line. We moved maybe a foot in line every 20 mins. People got impatient and started pushing and chanting, I felt like there was going to be a riot! After the first half ended, Candlestick started letting people in with out tickets, so essentially you didn't need to buy tickets! WORST SPORTING EVENT EVER!!!

    Very bad organization

by pxt23 on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

the organization of major soccer events in USA needs to improve significantly. It took 1 hour to get our tickets at the will call window. This is not acceptable for a soccer game (it might be fora football game) because we want to see the game from the start not being able to access the stadium after 20 minutes from the start. Hope things improve in the future otherwise it looks like a legalized robbery .

    Great game.. false advertising

by Sergified on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

The game was awesome but Ronaldo was the only star that showed up. I hear the rest of the top players stayed in LA for their game against the galaxy... TV and print ads were saying ALL of the team would be there. Kind of a let down.

    Really poorly organized

by Jbomb30 on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

7 of us went to see Real Madrid vs. Club America. After fighting traffic to get to the stadium, we were sent to the "Will Call" area to pick up our tickets. In all of my life, going to hundreds of athletic events I have never seen a worse scene. Long and unorganized lines,, with people yelling, cutting , pushing and this was just to try to get to the window to pick up the tickets to get in. After dealing with that, fianlly with tickets in hand, couldn't even get through the crush of people trying to get in through really narrow lanes to be patted down to get to the ticket takers. We managed to get to our seats right as they started THE SECOND HALF! We missed the entire first half and all of halftime. So dealing with the traffic getting to Candelstick, paying $30 to park, spending tons of money on tickets, we got in to the stadium to see 50 minutes of action, and then it was time to go back to the car and fight to get home. On top of that, most of the major stars from Real Madrid didn't bother to make the trip form L.A. to play. Absolutely horrible. Not enough security and staff. Will never attempt to do that again. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone thinking about doing this, to not waste your money and your time. We should get a refund for our tickets.

    Worst Event Organization

by dan77bur on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

I was so excited to see all the stars from Real Madrid coming to the Bay area, so I went ahead and bought a great "ticket". I was not able to print it out before hand so you had to pick it up at the worst experience I've had in a will call. There were hundreds, not to say thousands of people waiting on the "line" if you can call it that. More than half of those people missed the game completely. I was there over an hour early to get my ticket. It took over an hour of waiting to get my ticket, thus I missed the first half an hour of the game. Bad Bad Bad worse terrible organization. Never going to Candlestick park again. Complete nightmare. Plus parking was $25. Are you serious? At least make it more accesible or pleasant. Seriously, I have never left such a bad comment for something, but this by far was my worst event experience. At least the game was good, and had fun while it lasted, until I had to leave to enter the nightmare once again. Boooooooooooo to the organizers of this event. Completely S U C K E D!

    Candlestick venue totally disorganized

by Anonymous on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

The venue was not organized for the large crowds that showed up. Signs were in adequate, lines were huge and we experienced a near riot after spending an hour in the Will Call line with a couple thousand angry, frustrated people. The line literally never moved in that time. Finally, after halftime, the police arranged to let the crowd in without waiting any longer for tickets - another near riot ensued as people hussled to the ONE gate they opened and then proceeded to pat down every attendee. NEVER AGAIN.

We spent almost the entire game waiting four tickets at will call. We got there early only to find an absolutly crazy line at will call. We wound up only seeing 20 minutes of the game. My two sons were extreemly disapointed. When we finally got to our rather expensive seats we were not able to see a thing because our seats were on the isle. My 10 year old then decided to stand up on his seat to see and the man in back of up told the poor kid to sit down. The whole night was a complete disaster!!!!!

Great Game! But event was poorly organized

by TreasureVan on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Great Game! But I should have gotten there 3 hours early. The venue wasn't able to handle the amount of people coming to park. There was traffic on top of it all. But once I got to Monster Park, it still took is 1 hour to park. So we miss half of the game. Boo. Coming in and hour late we still had to pay $30 for parking and will call was on the other side of the stadium. I think we ran 1.5 miles to get to will call. I least I got my workout in that day.

Getting in to watch the game was RIDICULOUS...!!!!

by DissapointedViewer on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

I chose the "Will Call" option along with 100s of others. The event was planned adequately to handle the "will call" crowd. We were in the queue for over an hour...and missed the entire first half.. Noticed so many people walk away because they were tired of waiting. Finally the event staff decided to let everyone one who had a copy of the will call receipt. If it wasn't for watching the teams score 5 (of the 6 - Missed one goal because we were still waiting outside..), this would have been a really bad day.. Poorly planned event...

CANDLESTICK PARK IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO GO WATCH A GAME!!! I paid a ton of money to enjoy the whole Real Madrid vs America game and only got to watch 35 minutes of it. Why you ask? The stadium staff was so disorganized and very rude. I literally waited 2 hours to get into the park and had people running through the cracks of cars. I would not recommend watching a game here.

worst event I have not attended

by JuanOropeza on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

We also waited in the will call area for over an hour. I can’t believe that security was stupid enough to try and drive a bus through the crowd. There was no attempt to keep order and quite a but of line cutting , pushing and shoving. More than half the game was over when we where still in line and decided to leave. I had just gotten out of the will call area when I saw a security guard asking people to clear the will call area. Incredible lack of common sense. There was little concern for the customers paying fir this event.

    Will Call

by OffSide on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Never again will I do Will Call and Candlestick Park. We waited in line for over an hour and people attempted to cut in line creating chaos and frustration. My recommendation to all, pay the extra amount to have your ticket sent to you or you risk missing half of the event, which is what happened to us. Too bad really because it was a great game and the fans, once inside, were great!!

    could have passed

by emela on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

as much as would have loved to watch greasy cristiano ronaldo from my upper reserved seats for the entire game, the unorganized mess that was will call, parking, and seatings overshadowed the fact that i was at my first match in proximity to some of the best athletes in the world. event staff did absolutely NOTHING to control the street traffic and stood idly around. i paid $200 to sit in a traffic round-a-bout.
