    Couldn't Get In !

by tpc616 on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

This is the worst experience I ever had at a sports event. Waited for over an hour on the Will Call line! Finally at the half time, they finally let everyone go in even without tickets to prevent a riot. The game itself was fantastic. Able to see Real Madrid on American soil - a soccer fan's dream.

    fantastic game

by krwc on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

The game was very exciting and the score proves that. The long drive to get there was well worth it (it took us three hours!). Both teams clearly played to win. We loved being surrounded by other colorful fans who were clearly into the game.

Disorganized and a waste of money

by AwfulEvent on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Mostly poorly organized and operated event that i have ever been to in my life, sporting event, concert or otherwise. Parking was a mess. Will call line was a complete disaster - 1000 people stood in line and never got their tickets, including me.

    Event planning was awful!!!

by chaps5 on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

We were in the car for three hours waiting to get into the game and didn't see a single minute of the game. The parking attendants were not helpful at all, didn't direct traffic, and there were NUMEROUS parking lots ropped off that could have been used. They clearly did not plan for this and did not even think to open up more lots to make more money! There were hundreds of cars still hoping to see at least the second half but little did we all know that there was no more parking. No one told us a thing and so we all continued to drive around like idiots. I might as well have thrown $190 down the drain.

    NICE

by Budee on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Went to the game sat in the lower reserve, around the 50 yard line. Nice seats, would have been better if we were 10 rows or so lower or in the first few rows of the lower reserve and not on row 13. Game was nice, exciting, did get to see quite a few of the regular Real Madrid players, which I was not expecting.

    Candle-sucks

by Anonymous on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Despite leaving on time and being within 1.5 miles of the 'stick prior to game time, the traffic and parking was so bad and disorganized that by the time we got to the gates, we were not allowed in. Apparently with 10 minutes left the Candlestick reps decided it didn't matter that I paid over $200 for 2 tickets, the 'game was ending anyway' so nope, not gonna let you in. Suffice to say, won't be attending any events there again

    Vuvuzella's must be banned!

by Peeved4all on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

Quality goals from two quality teams on a quality pitch. It would have been great to see the top players from Real Madrid but it's preseason training and understood. When you sell beer at an event and put a vuvuzela in a drunks hand it's not a pretty happening. If they were simply used for cheering it would be fine but they are used to simply allow people to be obnoxious and to irritate those around them They are distracting to people who've paid good money to see a soccer game. They need to be banned from these events like many stadiums are doing around the world. They were a novelt in South Africa and are now an annoyance to soccer. Join Arsenal and Tottenham in banning these things!!!!!!!!! I doubt I'll be back as long as they're allowed.

    Real Madrid v Club America

by nicodemusasimov on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

great event well worth seeing some of the best players in football. Candlestick was terrible. Did the Will Call. Showed up 30 minutes before the game and the line at Will Call was so long we missed the first half of the game. Candlestick management was out of control not realizing the problem. Need a new place for these events as those idiots don't care about the fans.

    A Truly Great Game

by JasTay on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

This was a really fun event. Due to extremely heavy traffic, we missed the first half of the game, but the second half made up for it. Club America and Real Madrid are both wonderful teams to watch, and although this was only a preliminary game, both teams came with their A-games and put on a remarkable show. Soccer isn't that huge of a sport in America, but the games are honestly worth going to, because they are truly enjoyable and much easier to follow than other sports.

    Real Madrid vs Club America

by laligafan on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

I have been to a few of these international soccer friendly games. This is by far the worst logistical event I have experienced. beyond soccer games I may add. Candlestick was grossly understaffed. Will Call was understaffed and overwhelmed. The lines were totally disorganized. There were still hundreds if not thousands of people waiting to get their tickets at half time. Until gates were finally opened and you could show your receipt. even than people just ran in. Why tickets were not available to print is beyond me. I would not consider going to another such event at Candlestick, with same sponsor, and if ticketing options are not better. I think they opened the gates to avoid massive refund request.

    Nightmare Soccer Event

by FusbalMama on 8/5/10Candlestick Park - San Francisco

The promoters of this event could not have done a worse job of organizing the traffic and the crowd. We were at Candlestick at game time but by the time we were finally able to park and walk to will-call, it was half time already. At that time, will-call still had 400 people in line and security was telling us that we'd never get through the line before the game ended. I had two very dissappointed soccer fans in my car for a very quiet ride home. Never again...
