RAYE on Tour
Rising UK artist RAYE is not a polite pop star. If it happened, she'll write a song about it, and nothing's off limits. Her music is fun and dance-worthy, but cathartic in its subject matter. She deftly blends blues, R&B, trip-hop and pop sounds with lyrics written straight from the heart and experience.
RAYE has written songs for artists like Beyoncé, John Legend, Little Mix and David Guetta, but gained notoriety as a performer after being featured on several UK Top 20 hits, including "By Your Side" with Jonas Blue, "You Don't Know Me" with Jax Jones, "Secrets" by Regard, and "Bed" with Joel Corry and David Guetta. In 2017, "Decline," featuring Mr. Eazi, was her first UK Top 20 hit.
In 2019, she was honored with BMI's Impact Award for her creativity and impact on the music industry. In 2020 she released the EP Euphoric Sad Songs featuring the UK Top Ten single "Secrets."
On her debut album, My 21st Century Blues, RAYE offers brutal honesty on songs like "Ice Cream Man," which details a personal tale of sexual abuse. She also addresses an eating disorder in the song "Body Dysmorphia," and addiction in the song "Mary Jane." My 21st Century Blues garnered widespread critical acclaim, and peaked at No. 58 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
RAYE played her first major live shows in Europe and North America in 2022, and embarked on her first headlining tour in 2023. She has also opened for acts like Lewis Capaldi, Halsey, Khalid and Years & Years.
RAYE Live in Concert
Rachel Agatha Keen, known professionally as RAYE, was born on October 24, 1997. She was born and raised in the Tooting section of London before moving to Croydon. She started her music career young, guided by her father, who was the musical director at a church. She enrolled in the prestigious BRIT School in 2012, and while she dropped out after a few years, she continued to work on her music and released her debut EP Welcome to the Winter in 2014.
A standout from the EP titled "Hotbox" got attention, and a meeting was arranged with Polydor Records. RAYE parted ways with Polydor in 2021, citing frustrations with the label over their refusal to release her debut album. In 2023, the singer-songwriter made her U.S. network TV debut with a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and began touring for the first time as a headlining act.
Raye sounded amazing, was so fun and personable. Looking forward to seeing her in concert again!
Venue was great, very carnival themed which I enjoyed. You can get stuck in a very bad section as there is a HUGE pole in the middle of the audience that you could miss everything. There was no where to really sit in the venue unfortunately. Drink lines went quick but food was expensive and took forever. I would go back but definitely would not go hungry or tired!
I've been following Raye since her early days always confused why she hadn't released an album. Finding out she is finally independent and free to make her own music makes this album and performance even more important. Seeing a natural born performer and artist finally allowed to do what they are meant to do was an experience.
Raye is an absolutely outstanding artist with her performances while also checking in with the crowd every now and then which is very comforting, just like her music. <3
One of the best concerts I’ve been to hands down! She was amazing! Her vocals 😱, she interacted with the crowd too!🫶 amazing amazing performance ❤️
Looooooved herrr!! Like her live vocals are everything & she’s so relatable & adorable 🥹
I saw her during her tour in NYC & all I have to say is WOW. She had people crying, laughing, singing, screaming, and dancing!! She was so sweet and very interactive with the crowd too which honestly made the concert itself 10x as great as I thought it would be! Also the live band really does their thing, they were amazing as well! On top of all of this, her singing/vocals were AMAZING! Overall, one of the best concerts I’ve been to all year (and I’ve been to many). She’s definitely an artist you must see at least once!!
Wow wow wow!!! What an amazing performance and performer!!
I have been to about 20 concerts. Trust me when I tell you this: She is the best performer out there. Many of you may know her as the artist who is fulfilling the legacy of Amy Winehouse. I think it is safe to say that Raye is not only matching up to what Amy would have been like but also exceeding the capacity of the mold of greatness. Her DC concert at the 9:30 club, along with Absolutely (a bright up-and-coming star) stands testament to my review. The sisters are stars and Amy would be proud.
I saw her first show on her tour at the 9:30 club and it was sold out and it was amazing!!! I was so captivated by her presence and energy. Plus her album is one of my favorites to come out this year! 10/10
