About

Ramy Youssef is an Egyptian-American comedian, actor and director. He co-starred in Yorgos Lanthimos's POOR THINGS alongside Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe which won the Golden Lion at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. The film received acclaim from critics and was named one of the top 10 films of 2023 by the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review.

Ramy created, executive produced, and starred in the hit Hulu show RAMY, which is inspired by his own experiences and centers around a first-generation Egyptian-American Muslim on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighborhood.

Ramy won a Golden Globe Award for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Comedy and was nominated for two 2020 Emmy Awards in the categories of "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" and "Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series." Additionally, RAMY won a 2020 Peabody Award and was nominated for a 2019 Gotham Award for 'Best Breakthrough Series.' This past year, Ramy was again Emmy nominated for his directorial work on THE BEAR. Ramy also co-created and executive-produces MO on Netflix, which won the Gotham Award for Best Breakthrough Series in 2022. It also won the Peabody and made the AFI list that year.

  • Ramy is warm, personable and funny.

I enjoyed Ramy's set tremendously. It was timely and he was charming. His audience clearly loved him and it was a great house to be part of. I wish they hadn't asked us to come 90 minutes early though - it was entirely unnecessary to come that early to pouch the phones. They pouch phones at Liberation and no one is told to arrive 90 minutes early. On top of being told to arrive so early, he started the set late. It was a long time to sit in a theater for a 60 minute show.

  • A fun informal tryout of material

The show started 40 minutes late with no explanation. I resent Ticketmaster policy of NOT allowing tickets to be printed out. You can only access them using the Ticketmaster app which requires consenting to allow Ticketmaster to share your information. J’accuse! Otherwise the show was entertaining with an enthusiastic crowd. Remy is engaging and unpolished - he actively interacted with the audience and was genuinely seeking feedback on his new material. Much of it quite funny!

  • Great show

Ramy is great. Loved his humor. Favorite jokes were the “white jokes” and I’m white.

  • Epic Night

by Aayoosh on 7/6/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Ramy was incredibly funny and does great crowd work. You can tell he’s a genuinely good person from how he came out on stage meeting with Steve and bringing out Zohran and Mahmoud. Love how vocal he is on Palestine and staying true to his Egyptian and Islamic roots. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to - truly an epic night.

It was magical. Ramy has a god-given gift and you can tell has worked so much to make this show excellent. Laughed so much, got emotional, cried, felt everything from connection and sadness to joy, hope, and inspiration. Best investment of my time and money. God bless you Ramy and may you always continue to bring joy and insights to a world that needs it. And I pray that you feel that in your life everyday too
